Supernatural Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I heard due to some mismanagement Rihanna has made very little off her recording career so far.
feardesire Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 The whole "had a big lead single" thing is beyond tired and pointless. Justin Timberlake/Timbaland involvement equals big singles sales, not album sales. In fact the sales of "Shock Value" itself are all but stellar: something like 1.2M after three megahits!

fak Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 1. its a discussion forum so things are discussed, praised, criticised etc - and many things are discussed over and over and over again. 2. if you dont like what i read then dont read it - and certainly dont feel the need to get all upset and reply. i cant be that mediocre and bland if i got some replies move on. Fak why do u think anybody cares that u didnt buy HC??? U spout the SAME bullshit over & over & over & over again . . . nobody gives a "fuk" what u think is bland or what u think is mediocre. ur posts are bland & mediocre. move on.
fak Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Passionate? One should be more passionate about the people around, their family, friends, their own survival, issues that really mean something in this world health, education, poverty etc. Im not passionate about any music or movie star. I like and admire some artists and their work and Madonna is probably at the top but no my life does nt revolve around her and nor would I want it too. But yeah I would go out of my way to listen to a Madonna CD whilst i would not bother with someone like Kylie, Mariah or Janet unless a song or two caught my ear. To this day quite a few songs off ROL, Music, COADF, AL, Erotica and all the 80's albums have songs which are listeneable to this day but IMO HC does nt. PS - this forum has quite a few members who are more passionate about Kylie, Britney , Janet and co... Exactly. This board is for people who are PASSIONATE about Madonna. Fak, it's obvious from your posts you are not one of them.
fak Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 There was a story circulating that she only had £20,000 in the bank - Good Girl Gone Bust. I heard due to some mismanagement Rihanna has made very little off her recording career so far.
Guest moboy Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Well, here's how things look in terms of the tour hitting the USA: Week Ending 8/31- Week 18 Week ending 9/7- Week 19 Week Ending 9/14- Week 20 Week Ending 9/21- Week 21 Week Ending 9/28- Week 22 Week Ending 10/5- Week 23 (tour hits USA, first show 10/4) Week Ending 10/12- Week 24 (first full week of impact from tour hitting USA- and, 4 shows in NYC, the biggest city in the USA) Week Ending 10/19- Week 25 (2 Boston dates; 1 Canada on 10/18) Week Ending 10/26- Week 26 (2 in Canada, 1 Chicago on last tracking day of the week) Week Ending 11/2- Week 27 (1 Chicago, 1 Canada, 2 Oakland) Week Ending 11/9- Week 28 (1 San Diego, 1 Los Angeles, 1 Las Vegas) Week Ending 11/16- Week 29 (2 Denver, 1 Houston) Week Ending 11/23- Week 30 (1 Detroit, 1 Philadelphia, 1 Atlantic City) Week Ending 11/30- Week 31 (1 Atlanta, 1 Miami; Thanksgiving week) So, it has 6 more weeks of sales before the first full week of USA-tour impact hits. If for some reason, the album managed to hold on through the USA tour, it very well could be off the chart come Thanksgiving, since that week sales pick up big- and if it's selling in a lower range, it could get knocked off the chart. But, if it managed to hang on the chart for that long, that would be decent. She will definitely see some increase in the US charts, I just hope it's enough to stay on the BB200, so that w can easily track her trajectory. Combine that with some decent play for a 3rd single, she should be steady for a few weeks.
HolidayGuy Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Well, the decent airplay won't happen, but there's a shot that the North American tour will stabilize sales (no that it hasn't been holding up OK the last couple of weeks). Neither DWT or Confessions tours caused any big increases, outside when they aired on TV.
Guest Johnkm Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Up 12 to #118 without a bullet... The word 'Up' is unexpected i must say :larz:
HolidayGuy Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Still has several weeks before the North American tour hits, but, yah, up is a good sign- for this week, anyhow.
Guest Johnkm Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Moooooriah is catching up to her. She is #86. Lets hope things keep heading south for her
HolidayGuy Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Now, why would you *hope* something like that? Madge and her faith would not approve of delighting in someone else's failure, after all.

Guest boytoyville Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 SMASH. It's done respectable in comparison to other albums IMO.
mtzlplk Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 f@ck it, HARD CANDY has to reach 1M... I demand it...
feardesire Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 well, shell at least surpass AL #s. wont be in 2 weeks, but it will happen What a pitiful result. Her "most commercial album since True Blue" will sell 5,000 copies more than her less commercial album ever
notsomuch Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Don't people understand how the music industry has changed. Records don't sell. You can't compair a record released today to something from 21, 5, or 1 year ago. The record buying times are done. Artists know it. Why can't "fans" seem to get it?

Madonna knows it? Is that why she just signed a $120.000.000 recording contract of which $70.000.000 comes entirely from album sales?
