HolidayGuy
Also: Top 40 Mainstream: Up 8-6* (this is the spins-based chart; Pop 100 Airplay ranks tracks by audience impressions at the format)

HolidayGuy
Yeah- BB doesn't keep it in its main charts search, but has it in its archives search (it gives priority to Pop 100 Airplay now, I guess).
BullaBarbie
There is no guarantee of 4M being in the top ten of sales for the year. In fact I bet it's very unlikely. More likely it'll be top 30, MAYBE top 20. The single itself has a decent chance of being one of the top 40 singles of the year. Remember that even with 4 weeks at #1, "Music" was only the #17 single of 2000. Mtz you are way off to say any of those things are assured. BUT MUSIC HAD ONLY A COUPLE OF MONTHS BEFORE YEAR END. ¤ MINUATURES HAS THE WHOLE YEAR!
Guest aaronj
I spend the last 2 days compiling the YTD chart for the Hot 100. I used the calculation that the Swiss chart uses.... (Example: #1 = 100 points, #2 = 99 points,.... #100 = 1 point) After only 8 weeks in the Hot 100, 4 Minutes reaches #58 (21 weeks had passed for 2008). There are 253 singles that charted in 2008. If 4 Minutes is still in Top 10 this week, it will jump from #58 to #53. The #1 single to date for 2008 is Low by Flo Rida (10 weeks at the Top in 2008) and currently still in the Hot 100 at #13 Further info: 13 singles in 2008 peaked at #3 and higher and they are, Low (1) With You (2) Apologize (3) No One (2) Don't Stop The Music (3) No Air (3) Sexy Can I (3) Love In This Club (1) Touch My Body (1) Bleeding Love (1) Lollipop (1) 4 Minutes (3) Take A Bow (1) Edited May 20, 2008 by aaronj

Unless it snowdive, it is climbing steadily... The best selling YTD 2008 is Low by Flo Rida at 2,882,460 and Love Song by Sara Bareilles at 2,110,066. Guest Hafo
Thanks aaronj, interesting stats! Hope 4M can reach 2M downloads, can't believe it's still #4 in iTunes after all these weeks. Alexz
looks like the people voting in the polls forum are much more realistic than those posting in the charts forum. i just get annoyed at how the story goes something like: mariah sold ONLY 460k? what a DISAPPOINTMENT! anyone who thinks those sales are good is DELUSIONAL madonna will definitely outsell mariah, 4M is huge, so this will be M's biggest opening ever, and anyone who disagrees is SO NEGATIVE oh madonna sold 280k? well, of course, the market's down, so those sales are GREAT, if you think that's not good, you're NEVER HAPPY oh madonna dropped 67% in week 2? well of course, everyone has huge drops these days, thinking she'd do better would be STUPID ha, at least madonna is outselling janet! there's always this tone that if you don't view everything as amazing or don't predict huge numbers that you're somehow this negative horrible force. some people just try to be realistic. it's like crazy o'clock in the morning here, i'm just randomly venting at this point... Quoted 4 true.
