Unlike TIC, that is holding up relatively well in midst of the industry-wide CD sales slump, it’s sad to see GHV2 disappear into the oblivion. The harsh trend has continued: 2004: 41k 2005: 29k 2006: 26k
HolidayGuy Posted February 15, 2007 Author Posted February 15, 2007 Yeah, but its sales didn't drop all that much in 2006. TIC actually had a bigger drop- it used to scan on average 3k/week, but hasn't been doing that. But, it's not doing badly or anything.
HolidayGuy Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 BTW- for the first 6 weeks of the year, TIC is down 42.6% compared to the first 6 weeks of 2006. GHV2 is down a little more than 55%. So, yah, I think the CD slump is partly to blame.

HolidayGuy Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 The win wasn't televised, though (well, it probably was scrolled at the bottom of the screen)- V-day also could have provided a boost. Why does TIC sell so much a year? Is there any other Madge album that's as chock full of era-defining and terrific tracks? Nope. It has the essential 1983-1990 classics on it, it's the obvious choice for the average consumer.
