Msig Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 It seems like there was a major re-write since these lyrics don't mention the "Matrix" line they talked about in the Interview mag piece. But there are also complaints from the supposed co-writers of Ghosttown so I have no idea. It could be a simple mistake from rushing everything to Itunes. Where have you seen this? I don't know about E. Kidd Bogart, but from Jason Evigan and Sean Douglas I've seen nothing but praise, though they had no idea whether or not the song would be on the album until it was released.
madmex Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Now I'm in love with this epic song Can't believe I said that the demo was better, no way!
Mozo1 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I love how it sounds like it could have been on American Life, I think her most misunderstood and unfairly maligned work. Madonna 2014 asks those critics "Oh, maybe you shit heads will get it now?" Rebel Heart, indeed.
Msig Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Did you see Madonna's latest post on IG? http://instagram.com/p/w8UIr7mEbP/
LibranGuy Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 It's currently my favourite but I do love the others aswell! I didn't hear the demos/leaks so I can't compare ovbs.
Shane Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 The Lucifer vocal scares me more than any recorded music since Kate Bush "Waking the Witch."
Flip The Switch Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Her vocals here. CAN'T. Excellent song. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Shane Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Her vocals here. CAN'T. Excellent song. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I KNOW!!!
Phineaspoe Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Fever Secret Swim Impressive Instant Hollywood Get Together Gang Bang Devil Prays Perfect playlist.
Mmmmm Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 This is now my favourite song! My god!! This album is gonna so many songs that should be released!! This album needs to be heard by millions!!
Nixed Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I think this is my most favorite Madonna song of the decade. Such brilliant production. And I hope people can go past the drugs lyrics. So stupid that they misinterpret it. Anyone else thinks this could be about her brother/s?
jacket Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Nice song, I like it. nice?? this song is EPIC!!!! This song is perfection. I can't deal with this masterpiece. THIS HAS TO BE THE THIRD SINGLE AFTER REBEL HEART. I KNOW YOU'RE LISTENING M (VIA YOUR MANAGEMENT THAT IS KNOWN TO READ THIS BOARD). AND DON'T SKIMP AND GIVE IT A THIRD-SINGLE-5-BUCK-BUDGET - PUT YOUR HAND IN YOUR OWN POCKET IF YOU MUST. THIS NEEDS A LYNCHESQUE TREATMENT. YA HEAR ME?! #sorrynotsorryforallcaps
Guest Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 exactly!!! at first it was my second favourite after ghosttown....now it's absolutely the best of all!!!!
loomer Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I've cracked it! The song this is a dead ringer for is "House of the Rising Sun". It's been bugging my head since I heard it. And on a superficial level, this house classic
frzndrwnwrld Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 The demo didn't do much for me at first. It was on the bottom of my list. But the new mix sounds really good! The add production kicked it in the ass! I love it now........ even though the drug listing part makes me cringe a little.
Ghosttown Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Her best voice! The production is quite amazing and I love the reference to House of The Rising Sun!
Icykiller Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Devil Prays proves to me something that I have always thought. People may laugh but Madonna would make an amazing country singer as well. She puts so much empathy and feeling in the way she sings and would amaze country and western fans with her crystal clear and emotive voice. She really is an exceptional singer and does not need to shout or screech. Who else can sing pop, dance, ballads etc - so many genres - with such ease and class. Forget the divas with the huge vocal ranges - they might have bigger voices but can never match her as a singer. +1 I am still waiting for her Joni Mitchell-esque album she is going to produce with Joe Henry before retiring (you better Madonna!!).
frzndrwnwrld Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I have a feeling this will be the second single, but would it be eligible since it was a pre-order track? I'm thinking specifically about the UK.
Michael. Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I really like this cover, and I rarely like Madonna covers. She has a nice voice. (This is still my favorite track and pretty much everyone else's I know who has heard the album so far)
Guest bluejean Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I have a feeling this will be the second single, but would it be eligible since it was a pre-order track? I'm thinking specifically about the UK. I don't think this song will be a single.
Jazzy Jan Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Played this song and Ghost town to my brother in the car and he loved them. Said that Devil Prays was the best song he had heard all year

loomer Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 The demo didn't do much for me at first Innit. I played the demo a couple of times and have no recollection of it. This is like a different song.
elijah Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I agree this is an amazing song... It is however the strongest after Ghosttown
Flip The Switch Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 "Ooh ooh ooh save my soul...ooh ooh ooh the devil was here to fool ya..." :drama:
