HolidayGuy
I posted this in the U.S. Chart thread: Incidentally, MA"s sales number tops the weekly sales number for "Jump" (6,900+) *and* "Get Together" (8,500+). However, those charted when the sales divider was 5 (before it went back to 10), and when doigital sales were lower than what they are now. So, I wouldn't expect MA to debut on Bubbling Under or anything.

Guest superman
CAN ANYBODY EXPLAINED TO ME: SO CONFUSING - UNLIKE LATE 80'S DIGITAL SONGS SALES? ITUNES - DOWNLOADS? PHYSICAL SALES? HOT AIR PLAY? DANCE SINGLE SALES? HOT100? GOSH, IM GETTING TIRED OF THIS AND TOTALLY, DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CREATE SO MANY TITLES- BASED ON WHAT THE SONG BECOME SUCCESSFUL OR REACH NO. 1 SPOT. ALL I KNOW IF THE SONG MOST REQUESTED BECOME NO.
HolidayGuy
This is what comprises the Hot 100: * Hot 100 Airplay (1,200+ stations of all formats combined, ranked by estimated audience reach) * Hot Digital Songs (sales from iTunes and other digital outlets) * The Streaming chart (audio and video streams from Yahoo and AOL) * Hot Singles Sales (sales of physical singles and digital EPs/singles that have a certain number of tracks that can be purchased only as a whole) the physical single is a gone market) Hot Dance Airplay (8 or 9 stations, I think) contributes to Hot 100 Airplay, since it's a lot less stations than other formats, not much of an impact for tracks that are getting most of their play from dance radio. Guest gintonic
This is what comprises the Hot 100: * The Streaming chart (audio and video streams from Yahoo and AOL) Good thing you mention this. I see Madonna's Miles Away video appears in AOL during her promo performance for Hard Candy in NY. Will this 'unofficial video' be monitored/counted for the weekly Hot 100 Billboard Airplay? Last month I checked , AOL didn't put or allow streaming any videos for Miles Away including few fan-made videos from Youtube in their website. Thanks in advance. http://video.aol.com/video-detail/madonna-...2008/1922517177 Edited December 3, 2008 by gintonic
HolidayGuy
The streaming chart is separate from Hot 100 Airplay- the points value isn't anywhere neatr that for airplay and sales, butit could help when titles are very closei n overall points. MA's play on there would be very negligible, anyways.

HolidayGuy
It ain't gonna chart on Bubbling Under or the Hot 100. This is its peak sales week, it's all downhill from here. Unless it started being used in a very prominent ad or TV show (and in most of those cases, it's new/developing acts that benefit most)- otherwise... HolidayGuy
And if it were played during its peak sales week, that would have mattered why...? The audience for OHP spins isn't large, as it's mostly smaller-market stations that play it.

HolidayGuy
Someone mentioned it was played on Open House Party- that's where the airplay came from. GI2M reached a little less than 2 million in total audience peak (and peaked at 45 or so at Pop), so FAR off from GI2M.

HolidayGuy
On BDS Airplay, the week GI2M's mixes were released, its audience was less than 2m, and that was close to its BDS peak.
