So only songs that are #1 on a stations playlist should be considered "heavy rotation"?

I dont think thats how it works.

not heavy enough ;-) want it heavy-heavy, 15 spins a day.

Madonna isn't breaking 50 million AI and all of a sudden black people are taking over the country? Seriously?

Hiphop/R&B is what is hot right now, and perhaps there is some reverse racism (on top of ageism) going on, but in 20 years something else will be the dominate style. I think black artists are just seen as being more "legitimate" when it comes to R&B sound. It's not Madonna's strongest forte, that's all.

How cynical some stations can be. the song is #2 or #3 or JoJo countdown, probably the most requested song and had 3 or 4 spins yesterday on KIIS! Mi-midge was played every hour according to yes.com (hope it's a bug). they don't give a shit to what we want to listen. Z100 is doing better but 4M lost (a few spins) spins altough it's #1 at noon and 9@9 countdowns. can't understand. 50M is great but radio piss me off. When a new Madonna album is coming, time is suspended, my life is dedicated to the girl. She deserves beter. previous flops don't justify we have to content with that. as if because I was ruined before, I'd to be happy being stony-broke. want a smash hit, not a so so smash. radio suck, so far.

Radio stations can play just about whatever they want even if a song isn't officially being promoted as a single yet, and even if there are no plans that song will ever be promoted as a single. Happens all the time with many songs. Over the next week or two you'll see all of the other songs from H.C. getting a handful of spins as well. The week a major album is released some stations play tracks from the album as part of the excitement of the album being released that week.

The most popular Vancouver station is playing songs from HC almost every hour all weekend. They're also giving free copies of the album as part of a contest.

On the Hot 100 front, the arrival of Usher's LITC II has caused an unexpected drop in airplay for LITC I and left it vulnerable. 4M is making a move to assume its #4 position. 4M is still #3 on the streaming chart, behind Mariah and Leona.

Really? I'd like to know what's the meaning of R&B at both sides of the Atlantic. It seems quite different.

Geesh. You guys act as if this song is doing bad. EVERY POP station is playing it. Would you rather it have hit like Brits Gimme More which I believe peaked at only 20 million AI?

Kiss FM here in AZ, has BGO AND 4M listed on their request line. I'm requesting both! :D

Or should I hold off... but I want them to think we really wanna hear all of Madge's new music. :dramatic:

no he/shes not. The issue isnt hatin songs sung by people who are "black", its the quality and utter shit of the songs being sung by these FOOLs who happen to *be* black lol. Just seems that your typical #1 song in the US are sung by these moranic, thug lookin wiesels who look like your typical hourly BK/McDonalds looking burger flipper lol. Thats just what record companies are marketing too; dumb down white suburbian tweens, most of whom aspire to be black thug types lol. We're not talkin' Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, Aretha, Chaka talent here lol. Madonna, is from that generation, caliber of talent. Thats why (even with endless requests, #1 smash SELLING single etc) these stations refuse to budge and purpoisly prevent this woman from having a #1 song! lol

 no we don't. we all know the song is doing well. we think/hope it could do better. we're not dumbs. we act if the song could/should do much better than 50 AI with amazing sales, requests and callout. Gimme more was not so unlucky to peak at 20M with VMA's fiasco and Britney's nervous breakdown and terrible papers about her behave. we can't really compare. And if Gimme more deserved to peak + 20M, it's not a reason to be satisfied with the huge airplay gap between 4M and Leona/ Jordin or Mariah. But yes, 50M is good, we know it's not a flop. We act as if we want more. if not, great success. we'll be happy with the smash. but it's not over. 2 more weeks with a (slim) chance for a #1. ;)

4m has exceeded any expectations I had for it at radio. I thought it could do a little better than "Hung Up"- butit's 20m+ above HU's weekly audience peak. Wman was smart, she got radio interested again. Now, if the second single can even break Hot 100 Airplay, that will be a success (remember "Sorry").
