lmao at Westlife lol. Kinda shocked that the Eagles tho are gonna maybe be #1?? I never thought they were that popular in the UK. Their sound is soooo American and bland. Plus. I dont think their singles were that ever successful, so again I'm a bit surprised.

I am chuckling about the seizure some Britney fans will have with this, after they swore for their lives it'd hit #1!

Come on, it's not like the album hasn't had enough controversy :1251:

Britney has never had a number one album in the UK, and this is a great position for her. However not hitting no. 1 doesn't mean her albums don't sell: all her albums have done at least 400,000 and she has 3 multi-platinum albums. So how this fares in the coming weeks is more important than the initial chart position.

Yeah, In The Zone had a great chart run :doofus: And this is definetely an improvement from ITZ's peak.

But like Johnnox said, she's never been a big album seller in the UK, even on the back of massive hit singles they've done lack lustre sales. It's the opposite in the US with her albums being bigger hits.

I have to say I'm genuinely ASTOUNDED by Britney's chart success with this comeback; I was convinced that there had been too much media attention and everyone would shun her.

Yes, we "sane" people know that, but again some Britney loons were 100% sure the album would go to #1. And if numbers are any indication, it looks like it will slip down the Top 10 as the week progresses...

Interesting bit:

As of Monday: Bleeding Love still produces a very solid tally of nearly 47,000 units to set up a commanding lead over nearest challenger Rule The World by Polydor’s Take That.

It is possible that Leone may block Kylie and Spice Girls from #1 next week

Queenie, I thought exactly the same.

A public meltdown, drugs, kids traken aware from her, awful MTV appearance, terrible video, no interviews etc and it should have meant a hideous flop.

But it's been the opposite.

It's either down to a very loyal fan base or the fact it's actually a pretty good single.

I expect the album to drop quickly here and in the UK after a couple of weeks.

Spice Girls are being released physical on the 19th of November , while Kylie on the 12th...so I doubt Bleeding Love will have such strong sales till then....

Happy to see The Eagles on top..... and to see Westlife and Britney not reaching the top position. I hope that the Spice Girls dont get number one either. As for Kylie, I wouldnt mind if she does reach the top position although I am not a big fan, I have more respect for her than the mentioned artists.

Leona has the potential to sell over 100K for the next 2 weeks or so. That's a huge number, considering few singles have been able to sold that so far this year. I am guesstimating 35K for Kylie on her debut digital week. No idea about Spice Girls though.

----

Britney's Blackout first day sales in the UK: apparently 13.5K. Might do 30-40K by Sunday, depending on her appeal with weekend shoppers.

the next few weeks are goin to be very exciting for the uk charts. leona could be set for a 4 week reign, though kylie should be quite strong the week physicals get a release. the spices are obviously gonna grab their number one the week after, yet their performance on digitals alone could be quite unpredictable.

I think Canine Dion got cancelled, she's more of an album seller anyway.

something must have hapapened, because after her x factor appearance, I'm sure this would have charted if released.

We can but HOPE. I can't stand acts getting to number one with a pile of wank, due to a ZEALOUS fanbase. And that applies to everyone; I was pleased that American Life and Hollywood stalled at 2.

I'd have liked American Life to get to number one, but would have been saddened to see it plumet the next week. so its better as a number two.

I dunno if it will have the staying power tro beat both kylie and spice girls though, I doubt that very much.

Celine's "Taking Chances" is released on iTunes as part of an EP but it's stalling at #70. Mind you, "My Heart Will Go On" is also charting in the iTunes Top 100!

Due to it being performed on X Factor I would imagine.

Happy to see Robert Plant & Alison Krauss at number 2. I've just bought it and I think it is a great album. I am surprised it is selling that well though...

I didn't know Whitney was releasing something....I guess another Hits compilation. How many does she have now?
