Nightshade
Where/who tracks merchandise sales? Is it around $100K US per date? I bet it is a LOT more than that. I don't have figures for this tour, but Madonna was raking in the cash during the Drowned World Tour in 2001 when she was making $250,000 to $285,000 in merchandise per show - which is triple what most acts made. Of course, that was her first tour in 8 years...on the other hand, her crap is more expensive now too.

Guest jamesshot
It looks like they used the tix sold for the 1st Moscow show as the official #. I think they figured since Moscow f*cked things up so much, they werent reporting the additional tix that went onsale at the bigger venue.
Guest northernlad
Some would have cancelled their original tickets rather than exchanged, that with all the hassle, controversy & limited time to purchase new tickets (and the fact that most fans probably thought the show already sold out) obviously took a toll on interest. Remember after the first two days they'd only sold 1,500 additional tickets? So those probably are the final numbers.

Guest northernlad
But there's no reliability there, that could could of just been lifted from the 52,000 figure Live Nation & the mayor's office said could be put on sale for the new venue. The only time someone officially involved with the tour named the figure that high was the LN guy at the Hungary office - and that could of just been hype. I'm not saying it isn't possible they sold more tickets but why would they shortchange her stats? Sooo, any guesses on how many of these will make Boxscores Top 25 of the year? $22,090,582 London $16,507,855 New York $11,783,254 Amsterdam $11,463,877 Tokyo $11,435,199 Horsens $9,271,790 Chicago $9,145,832 Paris $7,788,845 Cardiff $7,686,380 Los Angeles $7,379,553 Osaka $7,257,750 Las Vegas $6,337,115 Boston $5,926,105 Düsseldorf $5,861,668 Prague $5,670,150 Montreal $5,568,485 Miami $5,548,998 Moscow $5,268,886 Rome $5,218,985 Hannover $4,890,090 Phoenix $4,761,555 San Jose $4,639,775 Philadelphia $3,749,800 Fresno $3,451,235 Hartford $3,246,100 Atlantic City

Guest jamesshot
All the news reports said that like 50,000 people atteneded the Moscow show. They said that then seemed to go back later and say less showed up. I think the figure reported was for the original venue that sold out because that was a sellout and perhaps it was unfair to report she did not sell out Moscow because of the short amount of time to purchase tix. Probably 50,000 or so showed up, but they only counted the 37,000 that was sold for Sparrow Hills.

That's exactly what I predicted, they gave decreased numbers of boxoffice to pay less taxes, it's only the money for the tickets sold for Sparrow Hills and nothing about 10000-12000 additional tickets sold for Luzhniki. This is just the figure of the tickets sold for Sparrow Hills and nothing about 10000-12000 of additional tickets sold for Luzhniki. It's a bit pity that the totals are less than $ 200 000 000.
