realityisalways
Ok so some of the spoken muted parts of the B-Roll are different takes of the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1hXkTQOI5w Some people state it's an unreleased Nike Ad, some people say it was simply shot as promo teasers/ads for the Vogue video and they say they were shown on MTV before it's release. I get the Pepsi reference (Them pulling out of the BA Tour due to the Like a Prayer controversy), but can someone clarify how is this related to NIKE? What does it have to do with Nike? That's the part I don't get.

dollhouse
Nike was to be the sponsor of the Blonde Ambition Show, no?
ryan
She filmed the Nike shoot the same day as vogue (Carlton confirmed this with Mtribe). Disputes and conflicts kept the commercials from seeing the light of day. You can read more about the deal in the excerpts posted on pud's blog. As for this bit during the vogue shoot, David likely asked M to tell a joke, all to get a smile and laugh out of her for the camera. You only see brief shots of this part in the music video where Madonna is seen laughing and smiling.

realityisalways
As always, you have the answer on Pud's blog, the real Madonna Bible. http://madonnascrapbook.blogspot.com.es/2010/04/madonna-unreleased-nike-commercial-1990.html I see, so this not really a "Nike AD" as labeled in youtube, the negotiated Ad was never filmed, this is her making fun of the NIKE and PEPSI deals that fell through. Thanks.

Thanks. Oh and by the way that same day we also shot, as the cast of Blond Ambition, a Nike commercial that Madonna was going to do and that never aired. It all happened during the first weeks of tour rehearsals. MT: Can you tell us a bit more about this Nike commercial? There have been reports and rumours about it for a long time... CW: Well we shot it and I remember we were all dressed in different Nike clothes and Madonna decided who was going to wear what, and which dancers were going to be used for separate shots and I remember the moment when they wanted me to finish a workout of dance and then I had to flop down a sofa. I don't remember exactly why it never aired. http://www.madonnatribe.com/idol/carlton.htm

Guest
Madonna was in negotiations to endorse her own Nike 'dance shoe' but the deal fell through. This was widely reported in 1990.
