Larkspur Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 1. Terrence's aggressive mode - he was ready to shoot anyone. 2. Madonna getting mad in the mad, mad world (i.e., breaking things) - lost of hope 3. Madonna playing in the playing ground - reminiscing about the good times 4. Madonna crying at the telephone booth - grief 5. Madonna scavenging things - she don't feel safe anymore and is more careful in the mad, mad post-apocalyptic world 6. Madonna not moving when Terrence found her - given up at the state of the world 7. Terrence "hesitating" to shoot - conflict between safety and trusting another human being 8. Madonna's initial hesitation to dance with Terrence 9. The tango Those are some of the affect in people's emotions in the video. Oh absolutely! I personally can be overwhelmed by cold hard reality and in this case incomprehensible destruction. I can't get beyond it. I was talking about how it affects my ability to focus and it made it difficult for me to connect to the story and talk about the video. I do like people showing what reality has done to them though. Some people just want to accept the cold hard reality and not think about emotions, some, like me just want to see the emotion and the pain. Madonna and crew went for both and it's difficult for me to watch but they made a great video.
spotlight Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 ^^ I wonder if the sevieNicks look was intentional?
Shane Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Two videos in a row where a cape comes flying at the screen! And did anyone else get TAB video vibes when she puts her head against the television screen? For very different reasons here, of course.
Shane Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I associated it with Hollywood with the TV. Oh, yeah, that too! I love her self references, deliberate or not.
MerGirl Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 FFS, just say Stevie Nicks already. Well, tbf Jonas kind of dresses like that, with the long coats and top hats.
mgreece Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Brings back memories Man this is amazing!!!! I am feeling very nostalgic right now

mgreece Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 The song went to #8 on itunes earlier??? omg!!! The song?or the video?
qans1990 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 The song?or the video? yeah, i guess it was the video... its picking up a decent amount of plays on youtube too.
mgreece Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I can't believe Ellie Goulding video has more than 200000000 and M has only 11 mil. Something is really going wrong with the world right now.I m guessing it's the air pollution
5iVe Elements Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Dont worry.. Im sure those 20000000000 views didnt translate to sales for Ms Goulding
mlcr Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 GT video is number one everywhere I see from twitter. Let me go buy my copy.
Guest animalinstinct Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Do the video sales of GT video on iTunes count towards the singles chart? It's number 1 here in the UK too.
Mozo1 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 ^ They don't for some reason no one can figure out, it seems. Read that here regarding L4L.
mgreece Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Dont worry.. Im sure those 20000000000 views didnt translate to sales for Ms Goulding Nevertheless that two M videos are so good that I want the whole world to see them
Flip The Switch Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 yeah, i guess it was the video... its picking up a decent amount of plays on youtube too. The video of course:
Roland Barthes Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 The whole video with MTV logo http://vk.com/video-48714381_171198262

qans1990 Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 The video is getting really good feedback on the YT comments. One comment said it looked like a retro M video. Which got me thinking about the throwback imagery in the video: in front of the television --> Take a Bow the chess board pattern on the floor when they are dancing --> The Power of Goodbye the cityscape at the end --> Express Yourself any others?
mlcr Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I will never understand how streaming a song on spotify and then whatever TEA is, radio play, counts towards the charts but buying the video of the song, does not? I may need Billboard to explain it to me.
mgreece Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 That slut had her song on the 50 Shades Of Shit soundtrack though That's exactlly what I wanted for this song. to be featured in a soundtrack or add! It sounds so epic
