loowee Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 X-static Process Promise To Try Oh Father Paradise (Not For Me) You Must Love Me
Guest Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I would say Something to Remember.. Always makes me feel sad (In a good way)
tasteinmen Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Oh Father Promise to Try In This Life Inside of Me (only learned recently this song is about her mother) Live to Tell (I know it's not that sad, but the overall feel of the song pulls on my heartstrings)
Aime Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Like A Flower, at least for me. Losing someone you loved so dearly, and trying to save what's left of them inside of you by holding on to that pain... Also Gone Gone Gone. Absolutely gut wrenching vocals. ROL is not my favourite album at all, but it's hard to deny the way it affects your emotional state, even the unreleased tracks.
Mattress Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 "Promise To Try" is sad and exquisite. Simple without dipping into the melodrama some of the other songs are prone to.
Catboy Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Oh Father. 89 was the year my Mom and Dad divorced. He left to live with another woman. I used to listen to that song everyday. I still do listen to it. Love it. the same for me, even though most of the "Like a Prayer" songs were my soundtrack at that moment of my life
Catboy Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 'Til Death do us apart'.... Do I have to say why?
Mattress Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 'Til Death do us apart'.... Do I have to say why? The Like A Prayer LP is a bit of a downer, init?
mad4mad2 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 "Oh Father" I can't listen to the whole song without crying. I've tried but it is impossible.
Mattress Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 When I was a very little kid, I used to sing along to "Oh Father" at the top of my lungs while crying. It was cathartic and, in retrospect, embarrassing.
Mattress Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Nobody's Perfect - Drowned World Tour version The ending of the LP version still kills me 14 years later.
spazz Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 The ending of the LP version still kills me 14 years later. I love versions but i used to listen to the tour version more.
Crystal Coffin Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 "True Blue" (Remix Edit) is her saddest song. Fuck "Promise to Try".
Ares1987 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Promise to try or This is to be my playground.
