They deserve their distress, but a lot of them will just change the goalposts. Dying on some pointless hill is easier than reconstructing belief systems and owning up to being wrong.

I know no one is that green to think everything is hunky-dory, but I've been so happy all day. A weight's been lifted.

I hope the madness the Trump presidency gave rise to will force American policymakers on both sides of the aisle to renegotiate parts of the Constitution that may well have worked 100+ years ago but that are no longer able to be reconciled with where we've been or are headed. A lot is outmoded.

Leave it to someone who'd pose with a gun to appoint herself a kind of spokeswoman for Christ. It's interesting that anything goes as long as your stance on reproductive freedom is suitably archaic and inhumane.

What a draconian piece, and how overtly so. "We picked sacrificing our elderly and here's a reason why that deserves plaudits," basically. Foul.
Edit: But what would you expect from those who seemingly don't consume raspberries?

It feels insurmountable. What do you do? People can't behave as they like with impunity, but facing the consequences of their actions makes these clueless malefactors feel they're paying some price for being right, which so often propels them and their kind into further and more deranged delusions and unwavering devotions. They're irredeemable. But it's so insidious and malignant that stamping it out seems only to increase it.
Biden's in an unenviable position but I hope his presidency will be effective, somehow.

Yeah. This happens and I've observed it with gays I know, but propagating notions about homos being hedonistic and selfish gets a bit tired when you see the behaviour everywhere.

It's been a week and there's no news about Jessica!
She's an elusive chanteuse.
The stems in the pic from Turkey are very distracting. Either the corset's pushing everything down (and up) or she may be ripe for another cooking oil drain.

Cretins. Wretched creatures, a blight on humanity. Look at them waddling around in the footage, emanating smugness, nothing to say about anything but never letting that stop them. Four died? Oh well.

Beginning months ago, I'd pretty much written the Senate off, so this is sensational. Feeling hopeful.

*J. Lo Super Bowl voice* LATINOS!
On tenterhooks with it being so close between Ossoff and Perdue. C'mon...

What a nut job. Had he his druthers, that would've been 570 people at increased risk going around erroneously thinking they had immunity. And if they were first responders or front-line health workers? Psychotic.

It's truly a Christmas miracle this rapidly decaying cadaver managed to string some sentences together that had nothing to do with lesbian socialists.
Regarding the grim pardons, it's somehow still surprising despite the bar having been subterranean from the jump. Wonder who'll be next.

"What do we tell our little girl Christmas morning? *dramatic pause* What're we s'posed to SAY, 'You been good, but Santa ran short'?"
Emotional trauma: What is it and how to heal
Edit: My heart goes out to Lady Gaga, as I'm sure she didn't receive her Cabbage Patch Kid and I know hard it must have been.

Thanks @pithy ! I felt lucky when I was reading what happened to @promise to try...
Must say I'm twice as careful now. I'm really afraid to catch it once again. No kidding. And to think @promise to try survived COVID only to be bombarded with Mariah gifs from a sadistic @horn, as if the virus wasn't horrific enough.
But seriously, I hope everyone will manage to stay safe and ultimately be well.

Can never afford to take a thing for granted - who's to say I'd even get beyond the acute phase? - but I think I'm most fearful of potential long-term effects; it's very odd how it acts out so differently in people, in some cases for months and months.
Hope you'll be running soon, @runa. (or , depending on your preferred sportswear!) Thrilled you're generally feeling quite a lot better.

Oh no. Why does it look like they all could've been her siblings?

He made close to 300 mill for "legal fees" since 3rd of November and has spends like 10 mill for it. In small letters it is written that the money could be used pretty much as he pleases. Its a scam to make money and he is of course never admitting his loss.
Exactly. He's playing to a particular audience and cashing in on those people's foolishness at the expense of democracy, because nothing matters but him. A place at Mar-a-Lago is honestly a fate too good. Hope he'll suffer.

Jess here is workin' it. I've never seen her look so good.

He's also making heaps of money from this ridiculous sideshow. His campaign has raised hundreds of millions in donations since the election alone, with more still coming in fast.
As if he didn't already richly deserve indictments, I hope they'll come just for this. He doesn't care what destruction lies in his wake, provided he gets what he thinks he should have. It's indeed insanity.

Those 75 million people could be scooped up by someone just as bad, though. I wonder if this is another reason why so few fellow Republicans have denounced him. Alienate his base now and they'll never get anywhere.

The offspring absolutely lack his louche confidence some sad, disturbed people have mistaken for charm. His popularity is also founded on decades-long notions, most of them illusory, of success and prestige, so respect for him, misguided as it is, won't simply be inherited. I think the kids are embraced only to the extent that his blood "deserves" embracing.

Having studied feng shui extensively over the course of two minutes, the ch'i in that place is really bad; I'm afraid I'd have bailed before discovering if that mysterious bottle's of lube or anti-bac. WHERE is the Tanqueray?

At the end of the day, I guess he got his wish? It probably hadn't panned out this way in his head, but a gaggle of gays are suffering.

Oh, I'm glad your friend was able to walk away from the precipice! It can take constant attention to stay on a path of common sense; people who are otherwise decent aren't impervious to being impressionable. A friend of a friend is pretty far gone and the challenge has been not to condescend, but it's scary how quickly the echo chambers they enter stop these people from thinking rationally or employing their mental faculties at all. I guess part of the appeal is it projects meaning into their lives, giving them what feel like causes.
