@swimtoshore no i don't trust him at all. I wanted him out. The religious right put him in as they knew Dutton wouldn't get the publics vote and this was with Scott they could get what they want in.

I fear a terrible mistake has been made and religious freedom act will get in. Which will make me sick.

On a positive note my electorate booted Abbott!

Thank God Abbott is gone - he would have to be about the most toxic politician in the history of Australian politics.

I am very sad with the result. Once again people are picking money over the environment. Whats the point of having money if you fuck up the world andits destroyed and our lives are over?

I had a funny feeling we would follow the rest of the worls. Everyone say one thing in polls but vote another way. Murdoch's news Corp scare tactics and constant pro liberal party stories really helped win and stupid Clive Palmer helping libs win.

I just feel like there is a movement out there that hates the fact that people are getting equal rights and they feel that the tables have turned and the religious right and white  man are now a minority and they want the old way of life back and this is why so many extreme right wing governments are being elected.

So sad. I just hope the new  PM doesnt try and make us like the states and get too many pro religious freedom rules in.

i wouldn’t trust Scott Morrison as far as i could throw him. He abstained from voting in Parliament to approve the Same Sex Marriage Bill in 2017 while demanding the Bill include language about exceptions for ‘religious freedom’, after the public vote overwhelming supported SSM without any limitations. He was also one of the guys that consistently resisted a Royal Commission into the Banking industry and now look at all the corruption that has been disclosed from that when it did finally happen.

@jazzyjan I too am in total shock. I voted at the Australian Consulate in NY, feeling quite confident that Australia was about to get back on track after a disastrous and completely ineffective Government that has fallen over itself at every turn, but yet here we are with climate denying, anti-immigrant, religious wingnuts returned to power all for a coal mine in Queensland, a very modest tax cut for the middle class that won’t really happen for years and so that wealthy retirees will continue to not have to pay any tax AT ALL.

  3. i’ve just pieced together watching the performance by watching a couple of the links here.

The visual backdrops throughout were very cool, the spoken word section was interesting with the dancers rolling down the stairs and Future was performed pretty well. M has balls of steel and always says the things she wants to say and kudos to her for her message of peace and her ‘wake up’ call for our futures in the middle of the Eurovision contest!!

Having said that, LAP really was a big let down. It set the tone for the performance being the intro and it was dead on arrival - her vocals were ok to start with (with a few bum notes) but eventually she lost her way, lost the melody and got swallowed by the tinny music and the choir. It was also lifeless. For such a euphoric, joyous song, the music had no oomph and the presentation of it was a real downer and it just never went anywhere. This rendition definitely didn’t take me there....

Overall I thought the performance was so-so. It wasn’t a total disaster but it wasn’t great either. Should she be crucified for it - i don’t think so. Will she be crucified for it - by some for sure.....

It’s on BBC news that she might not be performing due to the contract not being signed it’s made it to British press now

It is the lead story on Billboard now....

If parts of her staging have already arrived and she and an entourage of 135 people are arriving tomorrow, how could they be at this point with no contract signed???

They all sound so great on headphones. I hope we get instrumental leaks of this album. The arrangements are so interesting, intricate yet effortless.

The arrangements of the three released tracks are just superb - can't wait to hear more

  6. ok i managed to wait until midnight to listen, and this damn song has been stuck in my head ever since.

It is soooo beautiful - sweet, melodic, melancholy, and sexy all at once.

I am really loving how M is exploring different vocal techniques with these new songs, and her voice blends so well with Swae Lee here.

    Home run!

This era has started off magnificently

And era predictions, fans expectations, critical reception and commercial success aside I love how happy, relaxed, carefree yet on the mark Madonna seems to be

To still have a Madonna releasing work, any work, after decades, is a treat and a joy in itself but to see her working in THIS capacity and her full-on level of commitment and originality is a gift from Heaven

  8. A very very good performance - there is sooo much going on, with so many amazing details, and the holograms were amazing. It looks like she used both stages as well to do the whole performance.

They joy was palpable from M and Maluma and all the performers, and M&M had great chemistry and that was the best part.

You compare this to the other performances tonight or any awards show recently for that matter - it really is incredible the effort she puts in. No-one comes close.
