I am not sure his appointments make him be seen as a safe pair of hands? At least outside the UK all seems the same mess. Maybe inside the UK it seems or is better.
Yeah he's made more headlines for his disgusting cabinet of either extreme right wingers or extreme incompetents more than anything. I guess good old fashioned recession/low growth/extreme austerity is seen as competent when compared with the economic Armageddon Truss almost caused...
Anyway the media narrative has now moved onto migrants and their "invasion" of England...as it always does when they're looking to distract from everything else.

Twitter is going to become unbearable now.Ā Musk used to post outrageous conspiracy theories ( all proven to be false )Ā and is already being praised and worshipped by the ultra right and QAnon followers everywhere on Twitter.Ā We all know he is a Trump supporter and hates Bernie Sanders for saying that millionaires should pay their fair amount of tax instead of paying less tax than poor people.Ā He used to tweet back at Sanders tweets with anger.Ā His version of "Free Speech" will be a free for all for conspiracy nuts, right wing racists, misogynists and rich people who don't want to pay tax.Ā Ā
Yeah Twitter was always a hellhole but okay if curated properly by each user. Just seems dirty to even be on it now...
Founder Jack Dorsey is in the process of setting up another place... Bluesky Social. We'll see how that pans out.

Trans people now being advised to LEAVE England for their own safety. drip drip....

Thought this would get a mention in the US politics thread but the drip-drip of fascicm in the US doesn't seem to get as much traction since Trump left office.

Tweeting conspiracy shit like a boss...

So the current scandal is Truss' phone being hacked and the subsequent cover up to ensure her election as PM in addition to Braverman sending classified documents via Gmail... bypassing security protocols and foreign office advice....
Meanwhile, remember that huge lead for Labour?....

Thanks Runa. After the segment on Meghan Markle hatred, they have a go at Murdoch paper and his sky news channel re twisting information about so called climate experts who are really well known climate change deniers ! Very interesting and infuriating how Murdoch and co try to twist information. Ā @KimĀ @karbatalI think you will both find it interesting too. I love Media Watch.Ā
Hmm, could have gone in a lot harder I feel.Ā

Pretty sure that would be the end of Twitter.
Ppl will pay for their addiction.

How long before this becomes a subscription service? Would you pay to use Twitter?

The appointment of Kemi Badenoch as equalities minister is almost horrifyingly hilariousā¦almost.
It seems the only way they can show diversity in the cabinet is by appointing the most foul individuals they can find.
Oh and how the fuck do you host COP one year then just not bother going to the next? What a prick.
Ā

Um...that isn't him.
I can assure you the only 'scandal' being discussed is Cruella being reinstated at the Home Office 6 days after being sacked and the appointment an anti LGBT, anti abortion horror as 'equalities' minister. Same old shit.

Why on Earth can't the UK find someone to be the leader of their party who at least seems intelligent and can converse properly ?Ā Being eloquent and an intelligent speaker was once something to aspire to but now it hardly seems remotely important.Ā
Everything leads back toĀ 23 June 2016. Nothing but chaos since.
I sometimes wish some of the little cunts crowing the next morning were still on here...

I guess he will only do what heās told and will not dare to bring new psycho schemes.Ā
He'll just bleed the country dry for two years and leave the mess to be cleaned up by the terminal Labour party. Who are too busy wooing everyone with this shit ..

Itās just been reported Borris has the backing of 100 MOs so he will be on the ballot paper next week if he wants itā¦
The BBC (another institution that's gone to shit) were premature in reporting that. We still don't know for certain, but he might scrape the 100 needed. I'm also seeing reports that if the members do vote for him the parliamentary group might just ignore the result.

Yes, the polls are finally showing Labour with a huge lead the last few weeks - once you start hitting people in the pocket, which Truss did with her disastrous budget that's raised interest rates, added hundreds onto some mortgages (if you can even get a mortgage now), impacted the cost of living even more, ppl start to take notice.
I think that's why some want Bozo back because they see his popularity (among the braindead) as the only thing that can save the Tories at this point.

Famous last words but I just canāt see the Johnson thing happening, not so soon after being forced to resign in disgrace after his Cabinet ran for the hills. My bet at this point is that Sunak runs again and wins based on coming second last time and publicly calling Trussā economic plans āa fairytaleā during the leadership race.Ā
Yeah I'm thinking Sunak. Seems they're going for 2 candidates only and an online vote from the entire membership - so Bozo would be in with a chance.

Economic woes always tend to trump social/moral/progressive issues though. Just bad timing that ppl are feeling poorer (not just in USA of course).
