  1. Blaming Eurovision though....I must question, realistically, it's been a month since that happened......so even if she'd had a stellar performance that was praised, would anyone remember that now??

Just saying......a month in 2019 is like 2 yrs in 20th century time....lol

I think these would have been the numbers regardless. The UK clearly has a stick up their ass when it comes to M these days......that's no secret....and it was apparent LONG before Eurovision ever happened.

Furthermore, if it were THAT BAD....would she even be #2?? Shouldn't Bastille have whisked into that position being that they're "hotter" at the moment?

Take this with a grain of salt but considering her look, I wouldn’t be surprised if she sang I don’t search...it’s just my gut feeling but I we’ll all have to wait and see together lol 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Then again, THIS could be wonderful too!! I'd go into gay coma with an IDSIF performance.....one of my faves from the album!!

I also think this is a song she'll sing beautifully..

It's a straightforward love song. No "weird" song structures or anything. Something that everyone from 8-80 can relate to. I still say this is the most obvious single from MX.

Not usually one that looks forward to Madonna simply strumming a guitar and singing but I think that would be amazing in this case!! Something simple and easy. No frills.

  4. Not like I didn't know any of this already when it comes to her but always nice to hear her reiterate it!

I think these 3 clips can explain a lot to those (including myself) that may be doubting any of her recent decisions.

She's absolutely right though. Let's say she did decide to listen to her fans for some things. Which fans would she listen to? All of us have different wants.

That's why it's better for her to just DO HER.

  5. At the end of the day, this doesn't matter because she's debuting at #1.......by a very substantial amount too but yesterday, I was back at the same Target I bought MX at on Fri and I think maybe 3-4 more copies were sold since my purchase (unless ALL of the ones I saw out at that time had been sold and they put more out...not likely though).....there were no more Bruce CD's though. Just the label and an empty row 😞

  6. Really bizarre (that word again....haha) how "woke" people are........EXCEPT when it comes to Madonna apparently. All bets are off! Say whatever nasty, sexist, misogynist thing you'd like and it's OK!! Hypocrites.

Sooooo......at the end of the day, in terms of Metacritic, MX is going to end up around the same score as RH and MDNA?? lol

I've said it for years, but truly, it doesn't matter what she does at this point. Perhaps that's her mentality now too.......zero fucks cuz at the end of the day, why does it matter? They won't rate the music anyways, they just rate their perception of her.

  7. I've had time to mull this over and I have mixed feelings.

On paper, the choices are very WTF but truly, we have no idea how she's going to present these songs.

Part me finds it admirable that Madame X is so many things......one thing she doesn't seem to want to be though is a "pop star".....I kind of dig that. Perhaps though, she should choose outlets more suitable for that mentality. Attack me all you want but as time has gone one, I absolutely LOVE the Eurovision performance. Even more now that the album is out. Although, that outlet MAY not have been the best for that type of performance. If we'd seen that very same performance on one of her tours, would many here have hated it as much as they did?? Wasn't too far off from Met and everyone was drooling over that! 🤷‍♂️

For 10 yrs a lot of fans have wanted her to completely eschew the pop star thing....and just do her....fuck being commercial and all that....release Gang Bang and FF instead of GGW and TUTR kind of thing......well, looks like we got that now but we ain't all as ready for it as we thought I guess!! 😬

The millenials are the generation of the plain daft. They are mocking bundles when it is fans taking the option of buying the album as they pay to go see same artist but they will not mock streaming? These are not sensible people.

Exactly! Streaming (in terms of chart placement/sales) is the biggest fraud there has been this side of blatant payola.

I always loved and still love Rebel Heart, which contains some of my all time favorites like Ghosttown, Joan of Arc, Iconic, Holy Water, Inside Out, Wash All Over Me, and Messiah.

However, there is a momentum with Madame X and a critical response (minus Pitchfork and Uncut) that seems like something special and larger than life, an album in the traditional storytelling sense, and the beginning of what I feel could be her most creative decade to date.

    Just my two cents.

I still think she pulled out some of her strongest melodies for RH. So many great songs! It's very much a "playlist" era type of album though. It doesn't provide the "album experience" in the way MX does. She just seems so free on this record, liberated in a way......"another me could now begin"......more than ever she seems to really be doing her own thing unapologetically. MX definitely feels like a seminal album in the way LAP and ROL sort of signify the beginnings of her next creative journey at those times. I do think her most experimental work lies ahead!

  10. I think we have the Eurovision performance of Future so implanted in our brain that we only see Future as a song that can have a dark, apocalyptic performance. Really though, the reggae vibe gives it a vibrancy so I think she could do a performance going in another direction with the song too. Before Eurovision, the song seemed very bright and summery to me actually despite the lyrics. I just can't see her duplicating Eurovision outside, in the heat in the middle of the day for a Pride performance. It all feels so heavy......anything is possible though!

AL is def a head scratcher though. Do these Pride performances typically have lavish production?? Or is it pretty minimal along the lines of her performance at the Leo benefit?

Omg All people wanna do is bitch and moan lately.  I’m happy she’s performing.  Do I want Future? No. I mean she can bring maluma or Anita and blow the house down.  But it’s Madonna she always does what she wants.  Just happy she’ll be at pride. My dream pride set list would be

    Hung up

    faz Gostoso with Anitta

    vogue

    Physical Attraction.

YES! This would be an amazing set list for Pride.

  12. I'm worried!! 😭

I know she has her reasons for doing what she does but she's sitting on a goldmine of AMAZING new material that would thrill the audience....and that's without even factoring in the classics!

Perhaps this will be a more upbeat version of Future with a bit brighter performance than we saw previously.....I'm not as worried about I Rise cuz it's pretty fitting and expected. I just thought the other MX track would be GC.

It’s very trump/Fox/NRA propaganda...they actually, seriously, came up with the brilliant solution to arm teachers with guns. That and that there is even a debate whether mentally ill people should be banned from buying guns. There is no argument for guns (definitely not how easily obtained they are in the US)...ideally they should be illegal. Madonna is right, it is a fantasy at this point...I mean, something needed to be done a few hundred mass shootings ago. Yet they continue with these ridiculous solutions, and obviously many are susceptible to their rhetoric (as some of the nonsense they say has been repeated in this thread).

Many countries around the world do just fine without guns. More than fine.

    I'm with you 1000%!

Until people care about human lives (including their own children's) more than their born "right" to own a gun then this will continue.

When you bring up the examples of other countries with these people it's always the excuse that it's completely different. Sure, in some ways there are differences. At it's core though, its NO different. The difference is, the US prefers to allow it to go on unabated.

Agreed but when you take those sales into account along with roughly 50% of sales coming from ticket redemption it paints a very different picture...

Why are sales through ticket redemption somehow seen as less worthy than a flat sale done on a whim? First of all, you don't HAVE to choose "yes", secondly, most people that go to her shows are more likely to purchase her album anyways.

    This doesn't make sense

    You're telling me! lol

I hear that all the time though. People justify gun rights for this very reason. What would we do to defend ourselves if the gov't turned against us?? A martial law type of situation.

If anyone thinks whatever guns that they may have stockpiled would compete with what the government has in store then they in for a rude fuckin awakening!!

Umm not according to actual statistics, data and research on the topic.  Yes security guards and people trained in the use of fire arms sometimes can lawfully use those weapons to prevent an attack or for self defense but for the average citizen studies show you are 6 times more likely to shoot someone erroneously than to defend yourself from an intruder.  And mass shootings are only a part of the problem.  There’s also suicides, gang violence, accidental shootings, toddlers going into their mothers purse and shooting themself or their parent or sibling.  It all adds to a hundred thousand needless deaths in the US per year, yet our government does nothing to prevent them.  Common sense solutions (background checks, banning assault weapons, low capacity magazines, waiting periods etc) are out there and we know they would help because they have been very successful in countries like New Zealand, Australia and Europeans countries. But Americans can’t seem to find the political will.  Shame on us.

Thoughts and prayers will cure all!! :lmao:

May I add that IF there were a situation where those with authority somehow "overtook" the people and we were forced to defend ourselves (seriously, that's a big concern for "tin foil hat" wearing Amurricans) then your little "arsenal" you've built up legally will mean JACK SHIT compared to what the government or anyone with authority has in store.

That "excuse" is just yet another scapegoat in my opinion to deter any real action to curbing gun laws. Sorry to be a broken record but Americans are fucking stupid (accept for the fact we gonna make MX #1 ).

That debate is fruitless and absurd. Guns should be carried by professionals. Regular people shouln't have guns.

But karby.....the whole issue is the professionals will band together and kill us all and we'll be defenseless.

That's the "go to" argument for many here in the good ol' US.
