The video will match the tone of the song. That’s what a music video is. If you want something serious and deep go watch Dark Ballet.
Exactly.
LAP and DJ are from the same album for goodness sake.

I dont feel nervous because I think the video is out of line, I feel nervous because it's so close to home... And with that, Madame X has hit the nail on the head. I hope this video gets people talking because a place like a dancefloor, a school, a grocery store should be safe.
I mentioned in this thread previously that there was a shooting in downtown Seattle a few days ago and this song made me emotional... well just two days ago I was exiting campus and someone was violently shot (again) in front of the college in the middle of a gayborhood. Just sick.
Even sadder, is that being on the other side of the country, I haven't heard about either of these incidents. Just goes to show how immune we're becoming to this.....which is exactly what they want.....this is why no matter what the reaction, this video is NEEDED right now. These type of incidents should not in any way shape or form be "normal". Even the Va. Beach incident which was less than a month ago feels like "old news" at this point. It's just not right!!!!

But Extra can't premiere a 6 minutes + long video?! entertainment shows like that don't have the time frame to do so?!
Exactly. I hate "premieres" like this. Sure, it's nice it'll be on a large scale that will prob reach more people than just throwing it on YouTube but if they're playing 2 min of it max then what's the damn point.....especially with a video like this one.

Thanks , I’m guessing in 56mins it’s premiering if it’s like the past rollout
I thought Extra was a syndicated show but I could be wrong. Either way, I'm sure if it's premiering there, it will still be avail on her YouTube channel not long after!

At least with bundles people still pay for their redeemed copies.
Exactly. In Madonna's case, I don't see why this is seen as a bad thing. You have the option to NOT buy the CD.
But yes, let's slam her because fans that just paid $300+ for some concert tix to see her live decided to shell out an extra $15 for the CD. Just an easy excuse to bash her.

Who’s Extra ?
It's an Entertainment Tonight-ish type show that airs in the US. Idk anything about it premiering on there today though. Perhaps the OP of that tidbit has some more info?

So, I've now received:
Blue vinyl- haven't opened
Rainbow vinyl (w/Future listed on A side)
Tour bundle standard CD
Target exclusive CD w/blond cover
Deluxe 2 CD (found at a local record store yesterday)
Digital download from store bundle (finally received this yesterday as well)
Now, still waiting for clear vinyl from store bundle and also need to pick up just the regular black vinyl (wasn't in local record store I visited yesterday)

I think she is too old for the younger generation and her music is too current and young for the older generation. So nobody listens to her new music other than the fans. This is her problem.
This is very true and actually has been for a while now! As long as she's producing quality like MX though, I think this is something we kind of need to get over at this point. I understand with someone like M who pretty much dominated the charts for 30 yrs it's a bitter pill to swallow but I think it's something we as a fanbase need to sort of move past because......it's not getting any easier from here on that front.
Time to fine tune expectations and celebrate the smaller victories.....not that a #2 album in UK or #1 album in US is a "small victory".....that's pretty fucking major for anyone now. As far as single success goes though, that ship has sailed. Hopefully, next era expectations won't be as unrealistic.

I like this guy and so does she apparently since she took off her sunglasses and seemed at ease.
He's a cutie too!!
-
This guy was a little weasel when he interviewed her in '05......a bigger weasel in '08 when he co-signed w/mybrotherchristopher about M and still a weasel in '19. He's lucky M was so nice to him. One of those gays that would smile in your face and stab you in the back in .5 seconds.

Wow stunning! Here's to tomorrow, but I am nervous. I don't want to see Madonna die or bloody.
I'm nervous about it too Voguerista!! Bad Girl is my fave M video but even now, seeing her "dead" at the beginning and just surrender to death with a smile toward the end has always gave me the shivers!!
This one looks like it may be especially troubling because it looks so absolutely joyous from the clips we've seen. At least with BG there was sort of a sinister or "dark" feeling throughout. With this one, it seems like the "dark" is just going to come out of nowhere (just as it does IRL in these situations I suppose). Idk if I'm ready....but at the same time I'm so ready!!!

What the hell does she have to lose by releasing anything 'controversial' these days? Not a fucking thing.
Nowadays a 'controversy' by anyone that breaks at 9am - politician, celebrity, - is old news by 5pm. She'll get some buzz with this video and she'll get some flack by the usual bunch of pearl clutching, woke, Twitter tappers and that will be that.
I mean, I read in some review of Medellin that she was 'insensitive' by even putting the word 'cartel' in the song. Are you kidding me? This is where we're at? Dissecting a pop song lyric by lyric and showcasing 'outrage' over the phrase 'cartel for love'?
It's no wonder she enjoys singing Future since the song seems address this very type of eye rolling behavior.
I hope the video is graphic. I hope it's shocking. I hope it gets my heart beating. I hope it offends as many people as she can hope to offend. I hope MADONNA is trending ALL GOD DAMN DAY LONG the day the video is released regardless of if it's positive or negative.
Yep!! Every word!!

It's very difficult in general for any artist to get a #1 album, and with Madonna doing this and hitting #1 her 9th time, this late in her career, just shows the amazing fan support she has.
Say it again!!
This is not an achievement to be taken lightly. I think we take the #1 album on BB for granted.....RH is seen as a "blip" (which is kinda was based on weird circumstances) but even the hottest of the hot stars don't achieve number one albums.

If that's true, fuck BBC and fuck Eurovision. . It's a shitty and trashy show that Madonna elevated with her controversial and brave political performance. The overraction for some bad notes still baffles me. It almost seems like Uk cares for Eurovision more than Brexit. Madame X is not sorry and absolutely no regrets. I love how she doesn't give a shit and said nothing about the performance.
+1
People are expecting this big explanation. I think what people are forgetting is that she's been dealing with this her entire career so this is just another blip on the radar for her......a little "noise" before the release of her album. The fact that she knew little to nothing about EV before even performing shows how "important" she thinks it is.....lol. Like she said in iheart interview, she's at a "zero fucks" point in her career and I LOVE IT!!!
Still don't know what people want to hear. Nobody can seem to answer that. Is it that we just want to HEAR her admit she was off vocally? If so, why? So she can be humiliated some more? So we can see her "put in her place" a bit? Or do we want to hear her throw someone else under the bus for her mishap?? As if she would ever do that....she's far to professional. What is the big explanation everyone wants to hear and how would it change a damn thing at the end of the day? This woman has gotten so much hate throughout her career for the stupidest things, she probably treated this "big deal" (as people see it) as business as usual. Of course, peeps will say that proves she's "delusional"......like I said, she gives ZERO FUCKS at this point folks. Deal with it.

Why are people acting like she's a politician who made a bad decision that affected the lives of innocent people and needs to b held accountable 4 it. She gave a shitty vocal performance that's it.
YES! You said it perfectly.
Are people looking for an apology? A regretful acknowledgement? Lame excuses? Want to just see her squirm uncomfortably when confronted? What explanation could she possibly give that would make those that were most vicious about it have a change of heart about the whole thing?
She's owes as much explanation for this as she does for any other subpar vocal performance she's given in her career, which means she owes no explanation for anything. I don't care if the show is the biggest one on earth with 200 million viewers or in a club with 100 people, shit happens just the same. What's there to talk about really?
-
Not so sure FG would do great in the US but who cares really? It would smash in other places for sure so hopefully it'll get the single treatment (whatever that means in 2019).

Does anyone else feel really satisfied with the tracklisting / sequencing on this album?
I have to say it's so refreshing to listen through a new M record again without the need to mess with the tracklist. The whole album flows so well from start to finish!
With MDNA, I had to kick out most of the Solveig songs first and reshuffle the whole thing, while with RH I basically created my own album
(albeit a very good one, still love RH). This one is just perfect - despite the variety of styles everything is tied together flawlessly.
Yes! It flows perfect and I also haven't felt the need to mess with anything. I noticed it immediately on first listen. The album is pretty long but it flies by because it flows so well. With MDNA I don't even recall the real tracklist....I only know mine. I tried to stay more true to RH but there were just sooooo many options so I did kind of shuffle things around a bit there too.

I'm going to get to know the bonus tracks a little better then submit!
I still haven't listened to them enough to rate properly.
-
For me, the production on this one (especially towards end of the song) is the track most reminiscent of AL album production.

If we consider Columbine to be when this "epidemic" became a huge deal, then that means we've had 2 Dems and 2 Repubs since then and NOTHING has been done. It baffles me how "thoughts and prayers" supplemented by complete and utter inaction seems to be the "solution" on both sides of the fence at this point.
