Tour 2012

I don't see Live Nation telling her no to a title- she doesn't name them after hits anyway. They either want to keep it as simple as possible for whatever reason, or they just don't have a name yet.

I'm guessing its likely too early in the era for them to decide on a theme for the tour promo. They likely want to wait to see how the era does, the first & 2nd singles. Then they will decided on what to use as a tour title. The example I used with Shakira, the name "Shakira Live" was a place holder for the real name that came later on. Similarly, I'm thinking they will name the tour later on and "Madonna World Tour" is just a place holder. Live Nation did the exact same thing with Shakira, down to the picture and name. This all suggest that its just a place holder tour theme to announce the tour early. The real tour promo theme will come later on once they get a better feel as to what to use, once the era is in full effect.

I'm guessing, that they already have an entire MDNA tour theme ready to go, if they decide to use that. They are just giving themselves time to change things if they come up with a more appealing way to promote the tour later on in the era. They likely also have a cheerleader theme, a GGW theme... etc. Then later on they will decide on the best theme for the tour in a corporate meeting, likely a conference call via phone with the top people in M's management.

As for the actual title, they won't tell Madonna no. But, they will tell her to make a list of possible tour titles. They will then use her list, along with the list the management came up with. And from that, they will come up with the tour name. Live Nation puts a lot of thought into everything.

Early on in her career, what Madonna said, everyone did. But, "Madonna" has become a business. Lots of people rely on her. Lots of money revolves around her and the success of her projects. Its why Madonna does value the opinions of her management/Live Nation. She's not a puppet, she's a smart business woman.

Well the album is an abbreviation of her name so maybe that's why the tour is called Madonna. Personally I think its lazy and was hoping for more of a theme but Sticky & Sweet was such a lame name so whatever, who cares. I'm sure the show will be amazing.

Where Shakira leads, Madonna fol... :rotfl:

After three silly / irrelevant tour titles in a row she probably just got sick of naming them for the sake of it.

I liked 'Reinvention' (the name that is.)

Confessions was lazy. Sticky & Sweet lame. Nothing will ever top 'Blond Ambition'

The Girlie Show was also a great tour title.

I've signed up for the London pre-sale. It's £14. I take it we've got to keep an eye out for when the pre-sale date is confirmed?

Looks soon. Says buy now on Madonna.com from Legacy memebers.

Loving everything about this tour so far except for the name. You would think it would have a proper name. Probably going for brand recognition and just wanted to keep it simple with "Madonna" this time.

I'll believe it when it actually goes on sale.

I'll believe it when I see her with my own eyes again for the first time in 20 years

Come on guys! Only the world ending in December is getting in the way of this. It's really happening....enjoy this moment

Where are you guys getting the pre-sale tickets? I just joined icon but can't find an actual 'buy' link for the ones available already in Europe. :(

If you just joined, you're not a legacy member. They get first dibs, then your presale will follow I believe.

I might be wrong but I 'm sure I read somewhere that they don't let new members buy pre-sale tickets.

So will the 'upgrade' links then disappear from the tour page? that's what's confusing me - it is as if the system doesn't recognise that I am a member. But the email with my code says the presales started today at 10 am local time (which it is already past).
