Jazzy Jan
Will be interesting to see if the Australian Public, unions and people-power can over-turn this decision by the "Fair work commission" to slash Sunday and Public Holiday penalty rates for retail and hospitality This government has wanted to get rid of penalty rates for years but they are already being badly bitten by their own supporters - a lot of middle class Coalition supporters rely enormously on penalty rates and are angry and furious. Opinion polls show that due to this decision, his support is at the lowest ever. It is disgusting too that the lowest paid workers will be getting massive cuts in their pay because of this. Who wants to work Christmas Day for example and not get properly paid for it while others are enjoying relaxing and celebrating with their families. Australians have always been fighters when it comes to worker's rights and when John Howard stupidly introduced "Work choices" which basically meant any business could set what pay rates and conditions they wanted, he lost power. Hoping that people's outrage will over turn this as well. Maintain the rage !
