Guest Hafo
Just noticed that Roisin's album was higher than J.Lo's! BTW what is the appeal of The Hoosiers? The lead singer's face gives me the creeps!
Ciccone's Cheeks
how well does it look for Britney hitting #1 next week? The charts are soooo confusing now. Is her #3 placing just based on downloads? If so, even if the actual single is released who is she against next week etc....?
Guest Hafo
Yes, it's only on downloads. She goes against Leona Lewis, so I doubt she can hit #1. And then there's new releases by Take That and McFly and Oasis. On top of that, Sugababes are still selling strong
aeroco
With only 1 day available as digital: Take That - Rule The World (#46)! Not strictly true - it was released on Itunes by mistake on Monday, withdrawn on Tuesday and released again Saturday = 2 days sales. I have a feeling that Leona will make number 1 next week as she is releasing her song as a download and on CD in the same week. Her performance on the X Factor last night was superb. Think the top 3 will be: 1. Leona 2. Take That 3. Britney Think Take That's song is nice but a rehash of Patience. Hope Melanie C makes more of an impact with "This Time" than her last single, which performed poorly.
Guest Hafo
If it's 2 day sales, then #46 is not a very good position (!) I think Leona will bag it... Also found out that apparently the Kylie vs. Spice Girls battle won't happen since Spice Girls are now releasing one week after. Exciting chart times come, I think the download rule has re-introduced the surprise element!

Exciting chart times come, I think the download rule has re-introduced the surprise element! That is interesting news re the Spice Girls - not heard it yet either. Have you? Yes, much more exciting with downloads . Although, as downloading increases in popularity, big singles are entering higher and higher. Soon there is going to be no difference to when songs routinely entered at number 1 on first week physical sales

Guest SuperPop
That exposure on X-Factor was HUUUUGE. again it would be a travesty if it stops Take That from no1 position...After many listens 'Rule The World' is better than Patience (and ofcourse 'Shine')

Guest FuckBuddy
take that were top 70 in tuesday midweeks, therefore a nice climb of 20 places after second day sales is by no means an indication that number one is out of the question. patience entered at 4 after a whole week of downloads, and forget this time around all formats are also released. my bet's still on them for being sunday's winners. the spice girls vs kylie battle is still on. physical release dates may not coincide, yet downloads for both singles will be available on nov 5. spice should get their number one right away, kylie could have a slim chance the week after with combined digital and physical sales. aeroco
Here is a clip of the Spice Girls song. Pretty unimpressive but not much to go on: http://www.amazon.com/Headlines-Friendship...2?ie=UTF8&s
franxisco66
It seems that the next number 1's are really weak songs by unimpressive acts: Spice Girls, Westlife, Take That, Leona, Britney.,...... A real bad ending for this year in my opinion. Thank God that in the album charts it is another story. You need talent to sell albums and not singles Edited October 22, 2007 by franxisco66

fak
some of them might be unimpressive but they command attention hence the hype. a good mix of past and present and possible future pop kings and pop queens. weird but only leona belongs to this millenium, the rest are all 90's acts. when will westlife release their single on physical? i hope they dont get to no1. i also hope leona dont do it too. the spice gils have done the wise move of releasing their stuff in november rather than the week before xmas. now they would have no chance of getting to no1 with those crappy ex factor finalists releasing singles at the last moment. once upon a time they had 3 consecutive xmas no1's. now i guess total album sales are more important. i hope take that are going to be no1 or if not them britney. It seems that the next number 1's are really weak songs by unimpressive acts: Spice Girls, Westlife, Take That, Leona, Britney.,...... A real bad ending for this year in my opinion.
