40 years later its still a thing??? Wow! Talk about deflection!
But everytime the argentinian people have the opportunity they talk about the Falklands! well, at least some kind of people...the song that became famous because of the world cup had a reference to them too

do your countries still follow this war? I don´t remember any news in the last month, well, since Israel-Hamas are fighting

Israel citizens demonstrating in front of Netanyahu’s house to demand his resignation
this is really good news! my biggest respect for these people

they are doing so many atrocities that nobody talks about ucraine anymore

has anybody heard the idea about the real reason of some countries being in favour of israel is that they want to build a new canal, better than the one in Suez? apparently the better land to build it is in the east side of Gaza´s strip

It depends I guess on how they relate as folk and how much they link their religion to a certain country.
I wish all of them were like Borat´s actor. I don´t know what has he said this time, but I´m sure he is going to separate his religion from the politicians

As they have been illegally occupying more and more territory for the past decades I guess nationalism and propaganda is fed every day. And terrorism serves as glue for Israel to feel threatened and follow the principles of their government. You and I know about it because we suffered terrorism. Even today in 2023 you and I have different perspectives about the terror years from Basque terrorists killing civilians at random in Spain.
of course, but I was thinking about jewish people from other countries. I mean, you can be from lisbon, paris or rome and be jewish, and don´t believe that Israel´s state is something close to you because you are pòrtuguish, french or italian...
-
I have a doubt about the jewish society. do they have something like a pope, a person that is suppose to be a reference for a lot of them? what do non israelian jewish people think about israel policy trough the decades against palestinian people? are they protesting against what israleçs government is doing? do they follow what israel´s politicians say, or they don´t care, because they are from another country?
-
everything is crazy.I hope it stops right now. Have you seen guy´s post about jewish people being mobed in russia? apparently after they saw an airplane arrived from tel aviv, some people started going against them. that´s so crazy... we are back in the middle ages
-
it´s so common that it doesn´t make the news here anymore

so what´s happening now? I have read something about netanyahu mentioning the atomic bomb, also Turkie being angry with israel, south korea saying that north korea is planning the same with them...I guess it´s going to be impossible to know what the hell is happening
have you heard about the artist Jorge Drexler? he is an amazing singer-composer-musician from Uruguay, and he is jewish. He has posted his thoughts about this mess, and I think I agree with everything

is lebanon´s government helping Hamas?

No that's not what I want at all.
I want that all people around the world will condemn Hamas, admit that they are no different from Isis and that they are the real problem of Palestine without using any whataboutism and without denying their horrible actions because it doesn't fit some narrative.
I can do that. I mean, I don´t like to compair different organisations, especially because I don´t know if they are related in any form , or have a lot of similarities. But they kill people and they cause terror everywhere. But you know that all the palestinians are not hamas, and you know that israel´s government has done terrible things too.
About Hamas being the real problem, they are a huge problem, of course, they are killing people, but there is a problem even without Hamas killing people.I don´t know what do you think about the possibility of creating a palestinian state, or any other possibility.I guess you have talked about it here, but I haven´t read everything. But I´m sure that you realise that for a lot of people, not only in this chat, what has happened in these lands after 1948 is a mess, to put it politely. And again, some politicians from that area should have been judged by international laws
By the way, thanks for sharing your thoughts, I realise that is not an easy moment for you to do it.
Sometimes I wish some ETs would invade the planet: that would be the only way of fighting between us! (not really, now that I think about it)

I´ve see the images of the phosphorous weapons, but I thought they were new images, not from 2006. are they using them again?

I ment to say that Israel never had any partner to negotiate with and now, after Saturday It should become clear to the whole world. Like I've heard just now that there are bodies of 40 babies and kids in one of the cities they've invaded, some without their head. You can't negotiate with this kind of thing.
I agree that is not acceptable to kill even one person. But, do you know, a lot of people see Israel´s politician´s in the same way you have talked about hamas, right?

I will say this tho, the world need to understand that for Israel there is no partner to negotiate with to move on and create a solution for the conflict. I think this is very obvious by the recent events. If people don't see this, than they really know nothing about what's going on here
and do you think, before saturday´s attack, some kind of negotiation was possible?were the palestinians seen as a partner to negotiate?
not now, but before this saturday´s attack, a lot of people (outside of israel) were in favour of a negotiation as the only way of salving the situation.well, at least around me, and in most of the media that I read/see/hear.The palestinians were portraid as the victims. Now everything has changed, but I think there´s a lot of media pro and against each of them everywhere. Well, the ones in favour of israel are mostly around the USA.

It’s the view of a Spanish citizen tucked nicely in the West and NATO embrace since the 70ties. …
yes. But just as info, there was a referendum in 1986 to see if spain had to join the NATO, because it wasn´t something "popular" to say that you were in favour of the NATO,and three parts were clearly against it: the basque country, catalunya, and canary island (this third one is really surprising for me).Of course, the rest were in favour of it, so we are in

Now imagine being Georgian or Ukrainian or Moldovan who were on the brink of joining NATO and now get zero arm forces in case of RU invasion. I think bordering RU could change one’s perspective. Ask FIN or SWE. Anyways I think it’s logical at the time neither RU nor NATO seeked any arrangement regarding enlargement. At the time neither view each other as the enemy. indefinitely to “save RU”…
and I think this was gorbachov´s huge mistake.the NATO always wants more, and it´s clear to me that they would try to expand to the east.Moscow can´t allowed to have misiles so close to them.I find it surprising that nothing was said in the 80s about that.

Sorry, but to teach a Bulgarian what USSR or Russia was and is is pretty funny. I perfectly well know what the Russian empire was, what USSR was, what Russia is presently. Actually, most Eastern Europeans, especially those coming from ex communist states, are the ones who have LIVED the RU influence.
No official/documented assurances for not expanding NATO were given to USSR. Gorbachov says that was discussed, but nothing written down came out of it. RU didn't protest NATO expansion post 97, into Eastern Europe, until 2008 promise that Georgia and Ukraine would be accepted.
this is really ineteresting.I think it was a huge mistake by gorbachov, it seems so clear to me,that I don´t get how come nobody wrote and signed something about that possible situation.I mean, one thing is to end the USSR and other to have the USA´s missils so close to Moscow. NATO has been the biggest asset the USA has had to control the world and do whatever they wanted to do anywhere

Meanwhile the EU suspends the humanitarian help to Palestine. Of course hungry children and poor people are to blame.
I have read that thanks to some countries (Ireland, spain, and I don´t remember the third) the help is not going to be suspended. But that doesn´t mean that the aid is going to get to gaza.
This situation is hell on earth in so many levels. Is pure shit. I hope, I wish nobody dies, but I´m afraid it doesn´t look good, for anybody there.

I am not sure that Putin will win. He only has oxygen from China and India and those two will not risk money to help that botoxed mummy
+ an important group of the republican party in the USA.
but it´s true that we don´t know how this is going to end, although it looks very likely to be with putin winning (and some say with Poland graving a part of ukraine for them, which sounds very weird to me)

The USA has just approved a budget which doesn’t include money for Ukraine. Some EU countries will stopped giving money too. This war is not beneficial for any country. It’s just Putin’s crazy megalomaniac project.
I don´t know why/who, but in the usa a group of people were complaining about the war against putin...well, about helping ukraine. And now with the new war, I´m sure the money will lead to israel´s help. I guess puttin has won the war already.meanwhile millions of inocent people are cought in the middle of this huge suffering. And of course, in a few weeks/months we will forget about them (the media at least)
Israel, Hamas, Iran, etc.
