I ment to say that Israel never had any partner to negotiate with and now, after Saturday  It should become clear to the whole world. Like I've heard just now that there are bodies of 40 babies and kids in one of the cities they've invaded, some without their head. You can't negotiate with this kind of thing.

I agree that is not acceptable to kill even one person. But, do you know, a lot of people see Israel´s politician´s in the same way you have talked about hamas, right?

I will say this tho, the world need to understand that for Israel there is no partner to negotiate with to move on and create a solution for the conflict. I think this is very obvious by the recent events. If people don't see this, than they really know nothing about what's going on here

and do you think, before saturday´s attack, some kind of negotiation was possible?were the palestinians seen as a partner to negotiate?

not now, but before this saturday´s attack, a lot of people (outside of  israel) were in favour of a negotiation as the only way of salving the situation.well, at least around me, and in most of the media that I read/see/hear.The palestinians were portraid as the victims. Now everything has changed, but I think there´s a lot of media pro and against each of them everywhere. Well, the ones in favour of israel are mostly around the USA.

yes. But just as info, there was a referendum in 1986 to see if spain had to join the NATO, because it wasn´t something "popular" to say that you were in favour of the NATO,and three parts were clearly against it: the basque country, catalunya, and canary island (this third one is really surprising for me).Of course, the rest were in favour of it, so we are in

It’s the view of a Spanish citizen tucked nicely in the West and NATO embrace since the 70ties. Now imagine being Georgian or Ukrainian or Moldovan who were on the brink of joining NATO and now get zero arm forces in case of RU invasion. I think bordering RU could change one’s perspective. Ask FIN or SWE. Anyways I think it’s logical at the time neither RU nor NATO seeked any arrangement regarding enlargement. At the time neither view each other as the enemy.  indefinitely to “save RU”…

and I think this was gorbachov´s huge mistake.the NATO always wants more, and it´s clear to me that they would try to expand to the east.Moscow can´t allowed to have misiles so close to them.I find it surprising that nothing was said in the 80s about that.

Sorry, but to teach a Bulgarian what USSR or Russia was and is is pretty funny. I perfectly well know what the Russian empire was, what USSR was, what Russia is presently. Actually, most Eastern Europeans, especially those coming from ex communist states, are the ones who have LIVED the RU influence.

No official/documented assurances for not expanding NATO were given to USSR. Gorbachov says that was discussed, but nothing written down came out of it. RU didn't protest NATO expansion post 97, into Eastern Europe, until 2008 promise that Georgia and Ukraine would be accepted.

this is really ineteresting.I think it was a huge mistake by gorbachov, it seems so clear to me,that I don´t get how come nobody wrote and signed something about that possible situation.I mean, one thing is to end the USSR and other to have the USA´s missils so close to Moscow. NATO has been the biggest asset the USA has had to control the world and do whatever they wanted to do anywhere

Meanwhile the EU suspends the humanitarian help to Palestine. Of course hungry children and poor people are to blame.

I have read that thanks to some countries (Ireland, spain, and I don´t remember the third) the help is not going to be suspended. But that doesn´t mean that the aid is going to get to gaza.

This situation is hell on earth in so many levels. Is pure shit. I hope, I wish nobody dies, but I´m afraid it doesn´t look good, for anybody there.

I am not sure that Putin will win. He only has oxygen from China and India and those two will not risk money to help that botoxed mummy

+ an important group of the republican party in the USA.

but it´s true that we don´t know how this is going to end, although it looks very likely to be with putin winning (and some say with Poland graving a part of ukraine for them, which sounds very weird to me)

The USA has just approved a budget which doesn’t include money for Ukraine. Some EU countries will stopped giving money too. This war is not beneficial for any country. It’s just Putin’s crazy megalomaniac project.

I don´t know why/who, but in the usa a group of people were complaining about the war against putin...well, about helping ukraine. And now with the new war, I´m sure the money will lead to israel´s help. I guess puttin has won the war already.meanwhile millions of inocent people are cought in the middle of this huge suffering. And of course, in a few weeks/months we will forget about them (the media at least)

  8. this thread was about the brics, but it´s ok, this is interesting too.I really don´t know a lot of what is happening, but everytime the USA needs a war to help their economy, voila, a war appears. People in the usa were complaining about the amount of money and people that the USA was giving to NATO, they were starting to talk against it...and the ucraine´s war saves the day, nobody complained about the NATO in the usa for a couple of years.. Now  some people were complaining about USA giving to much money to help ucraine...and another war is going to save the day again.I guess the USA is going to stop helping ucraine now, to help Israel, and after USA stops helping ucraine, the rest of the nato is going to leave them in putin´s hands.that way the economy continues working...

  Where? I haven't seen anything of the sort. It's just the same old crap, even more sloppy.

    He hasn't whatsoever. Don't drink the kool-aid.

I was answering somebody using his/her words. Again, I don´t know anything about biden´s national politics. With obama, we knew some things, with him we don´t know anything. well, actually, only one thing, when he spoke in the senate I think, and apparently he was brilliant. But the rest of the things that we  know are things like he falling sleep, or falling of the bycicle...

Everyone I know from USA, even some distant relatives who live there for 30-40 years said that Biden is the weakest USA president ever and destroyed the country, that's why they all vote for Trump.

I don´t know if biden has destroyed the country or not, but he seems too old to be president, at least the images that we see about him are not good, falling sleep, or saying weird things like god save the queen

Thing is that it is in the news. I think that what is important here is that these tragedies should move campaigns and change attitudes. But nowadays very few tragedies move anything. Just look how often Zelensky has to tour Europe just to keep the conflict in people’s minds!

I agree, (evita did it first!😅) it´s true that a lot of shit that happens appears and disappears in a couple of days from the news (not even the war, but , for example, a man killed a woman a few days ago in france, sticking a stick inside her body, and is not on the news anymore.

  12. of course is not the subject (but I remember that when I was holding the banner in my city, sometimes the journalist had problems to makes us look as if we were a lot...and  we knew that with the help of the politicians, more people would have been there)

anyways, I still think that this case should have been bigger, killing somebody just because of his/her sexual orientation should be on the news being something really important

It has always been like this. Only if there are demonstrations or if politicians take part giving press conferences the next day announcing measures keeps momentum.

true. I remember that a lot of marches/demostrations against ETA had only a few people behind here, and only if the politicians and the political parties were telling their people to go were massive. so maybe, without a political party or organisation to  make people move, this killing has been a "non important " one.sad.

I don’t understand that “media coverage” complaining. That article is in The Guardian!

News coverage is incredibly fast. A woman is killed by the husband in front of her kids and it gets coverage for one day too. The exception is when something gets more than one day in media coverage.

I don´t know, I was expecting more.I know news change really fast, but with this it seems it was only a 3 second news, not something really important.

The guy is a little bit dumb. Isn't he? His suggestion is to flee to Europe? A place where most so called conservatives are more liberal than the Democrats. Well, he may be talking about Hungary or Poland?

when we listen to the american democrats talk in europe...they sound super "fascist"🤣 I´m not saying they are, but some of their ideas are very radical for us (radical, in a right winged radical way)

Well, sign of the times. In my region Aragon the left was doing a very poor job so I understand the victory of the right. Our health system was very good and now I had to wait three fucking weeks to have an appointment with my doctor. And in terms of environment they were planning a catastrophic project in the Pyrenees that thankfully was scrapped. Yesterday frankly I didn’t know who to vote for the regionals.

About next general election in autumn who knows. Media propaganda is in full mode and many citizens are not aware of the good things that the central leftist government has done.

nop! next elections are in July!!!!!! Sanchez wants to win, at least , he wants to profite the bad situation of all the mini political parties to his left.I bet he will win again
