  1. Because the press were not sitting in the sections that experienced the sound problems. These were seats further back, as I recall you being an asshole to people here who were complaining about the sound issues by saying they deserved it for buying cheap seats even though any idiot with a bit of intelligence knew that if not for the technical problems there would have not been complaints about the sound.

Bottom line, YOU WEREN'T THERE. So shut the fuck up about it.

Thanks. Exactly, it was hundreds of people affected, hence the press making an issue of it in subsequent reportings once they had learned what had happened. Had Live Nation put their hands up and said there was a technical hitch then fine, but they never did. They denied any problem whatsover then paid up quietly two weeks later to certain blocks.

Back to the topic though, I am really skeptical of her doing a mini tour unless she has another album coming out which is unlikely so soon after this one.

She does owe Warner's a greatest hits as the last part of the contract, right?

  2. I may consider going if it were at the O2 but there is no way I would go after having gone to the Wembley fiasco. At least I got a full refund unlike some others.

Odd to do a show six months after the tour finishes. Surely all the stage props etc will have been dismantled?

Perhaps that means there might be a final push for Hard Candy? One more single? Or even a new single?

Something to keep us going for hte next few months now that the tour is (finally) over.

  3. Don't mind Take That - they worked their way up and have come back with some great songs such as Patience and Rule the World that appeal to more than just hardcore fans. Leona Lewis is a backing singer who got lucky singing dreary songs to people who have no taste in music and just have it on in the background. She will be gone in a couple of years. There is absolutely nothing about the woman - a complete personality vacuum.

  4. It's the edit on the Australian 7" single

There was an official 7" release of Burning Up in Europe and Japan but not the UK

As for this no longer being a serious discussion, I think it is. It's just that how do you cram in nearly 70 single releases onto one compilation album and everyone be happy?

I don't think we will get a decent retrospective until Madonna jacks in the singing and that is another ten years at least.

As for unreleased stuff, I expect if they did put anything on a compilation, it would be one of the tracks that was leaked like Revenge or Gone, Gone, Gone.

Nope; it's a number ones album combining the US and UK number ones is all I expect.

  5. I would drop anything that wasn't an official single so that means Spotlight, WTP and Physical Attraction (although I love the last one). Also, DJ and TLOL could go. In Britain she has had nearly 70 singles so I can't see any compilation album being that broad.

Like GHV2, it will be the standard edits of the biggest hits. At least it won't be in the awful Q-sound. It will be a while before they open the vaults and do remixes and rarities. It will be the standard recycling of the hits for a good few years.

  6. Warner's were removing remix video versions of the single from youtube. You'd think they'd be grateful of the extra promotion.

Big shame this single has tanked but the whole promotion of the album was lame. A friend of mine who is really into music didn't even know she had an album out shortly after its release. It doesn't stand a chance now. Madonna should have got herself onto TV shows like with COADF, even if she did stuff by satellite.

I suppose she is just keeping a low profile from an interview point of view now. Still can't believe they didn't do a video.

    GOODBYE WARNERS. YOU SUCK!

  7. I love the song, I'm going to buy the pic disc if I can get hold of it. Shame it is not being promoted very well though as I think it is a very good pop song and better than anything Leona Lewis chirps out.

I do think Madonna should take a year off too after this mess of a year and get herself together as well as those that manage her business as it has been a balls up all round: awful Wembley show, bad record promotion etc

Still, I can't wait for the next album. Like the other thread, I just want a good pop album minus any hip producers or politics.

  8. HC is only £5.99 in hmv.

Can't believe they're going ahead with a third single at this late stage in the game - MA will be lucky to make top 40 at this rate.

It might be that as it is the Christmas market, one last piece of promotion is worth a push. I'm glad they are doing it. Better that than nothing. Hopefully, there will be some good remixes.

  9. wwhat!Guru Josh! THE Guru Josh!!!!!! I hated him!!!!!! :americanlife:

It's a really lame ass remix version that is supposedly storming the clubs right now. It's not as bad as the new Sash! record though which samples his own "Encore une fois" which is just beyond shite. Makes BassHunter sound like an accommplished artist. :nocomment:

As for GA, I didn't realise it was six years. Good on them though and good that they have moved away from the HiNRG sound which is normally the sign of desperation to revive a flagging career - see Geri Halliwell.

  10. excellent. I wish Jump was back in the top 40. Did they play a snippet or a good portion? Has this same episode been shown in the USA?

Jump closed the show and ended the second season. It worked really well as Betty had to make a big decision as did some other cast members so metaphorically they all had to "jump". It was a really positive end and was well done so it was about two minutes but the song was chopped around.

I think this showed a few months ago in the US. We're quite behind in the UK.

Oasis single dropped out of the top 40? Wow. It was a good song too overall and they are playing it to death. I thought their album would easily be number one. I don't really like them though and glad they are not as big as they think they should be.

As for Girls Aloud, I think they are gaining a lot of credibility now. They are starting to produce some quality pop songs. Probably the most successful talent show group from the last few years.

  11. it's funny back in 98 or 99 around the time of twentyfourseven cd an interviewer asked tina turner why she moved to europe, she said cuz here i'm like madonna. i guess madonna now could say here(europe) i'm like beyonce. I wonder who beyonce will be comparing herself to in a few years when she moves to europe.

    Oprah?

Apparently, MA is now available for download in the UK. That is bad news as there is no airplay or news on it. As I said in another post, this could be M's first release not to even go Top 20 since 1984!

That would pretty much sum up the end of the Warner years. Going out with a damp fart, not a bang.

  12. He is an attractive and intelligent man and a very accomplished actor. I imagine in her line of work she got fed up with pretty boy models and wants somebody with more gravitas as an individual. They met and married within the space of a few months which is never wise especially when their lives are so extraordinary to the average joe.

Shame his brother died as he was also a great actor.

  13. Give It 2 Me was not a flop in Europe and is still slowly dropping down the charts. I suppose they want to take advantage of that and then release MA later on when sales start to pick up after the summer slump.

I still can't work out why they would bother to release MA and not even put some sort of video together? It wouldn't take that long. Perhaps videos of old clips just don't get played now. Everything has to have a new look every time. I never saw any of the GHV2 videos or even heard the song on radio.
