I wonder if they are thinking of delaying the release as Michael Jackson will pop music news this year. Madonna's just doing an extension so not really as newsworthy.
There's no real general excitement towards a Madonna release at the moment apart from the fans. There's so much new, exciting music and new artists around, I think she would be overshadowed.
With all the world's problems at the moment, people want to see something new and fresh but Madonna belongs to the old order.

It's great to have Dress You Up back but a rock version means just her strumming her guitar. If it's anything like Borderline and Human Nature then it will be underwhelming.
I hope she doesn't try and reinvent Holiday again - they are just starting to sound like bad mash ups like Music.

I don't see how anyone can form an opinion over a few words! A clip is one thing but one word and you are forming opinions about a song?

Madonna was the lowest-selling cover of Smash Hits in the UK in 2001 too.
We pretty much know all about her, straight men don't fancy her, the young aren't so interested in her, women have other females with much more interesting loves lives to follow.
She's liked for her music but after 25 years in the spotlight, what more is there to know about her? There are plenty of other stars of her magnitude who don't appear in the press so much. It's no bad thing. She still sells records and sells out stadiums which is the main thing.

I don't why anyone would think having a rapper add how cool he is and how hot Madonna is will add anything to a record... She's been there with HC already.
I'm still not familiar with Lil Wayne's work as he has failed to do anything in the UK.

Lets hope one of the "surprises" includes the dropping that DREADFUL rock version of HU and reverting back to the FABULOUS disco version complete with the ABBA sample.
If only. It's more like she'll go EMO and turn the whole thing into a rock concert with Marilyn Manson stuck in a frigging lift.

It's so bad, it's good - they basically took Madonna's acting styles from Desperately Seeking Susan and Who's That Girl and transposed them into Madonna's life.

I don't find HC that 'urban' at all and nor was Bedtime Stories which was more ballad driven. There are only a couple of tracks that could be really classed like that. The rest is a great mix of ballads and pop. I prefer it over COADF by a long stretch as there is a mix of pace and style. COADF is really repetitive - I only listen to the singles as the rest is so much filler.
I wouldn't mind some songs with Stuart Price but another whole album of his production would be too much. His remixes for the album were terrible. Really bad electro stuff that were clunky and soulless.
She actually benefits from less obvious production - more subtle - a vibe rather than beating someone over the head with it like Timbaland on 4m.

Yes, both Heartbeat and WTG have just been confirmed as not being in the list so this list looks out of date already.
Also, the Get Stupid video will look old now that Obama is in power.

Whilst it might be wonderful for die hard fans to hear a new single on the tour, we have to accept the fact that that is so not Madonna's thing.
Every now and again she suprises us, but I really don't think she is going to play Revolver or whatever the new song may be called before it's single release.
A - it will end up on youtube and file sharing sites, recorded from some crappy mobile phone, ruining the first-time-to-hear-it affect from official leaks/radio play etc.
B - Many people in the audience will not be expecting it and may not 'get' the song.
C - Madonna rarely mixes up her shows, they are planned with such precision from the out set that I simply can't imagine her doing something like this.
She will want the new single to pack a punch. Unless it is released before the new tour dates we won't hear it at the gigs due to the impact it will have on marketing the single and GH package. Madonna is a commercial beast and she will never let anything compromise that if she can help it. I often wondered why she didn't sing Spotlight on the WTG tour. Simple - she wasn't ready to. Spotlight was to have it's own (albeit short) stint in the sun when it suited her, just like all of her projects.
Spotlight? It wasn't even released as a single except in Japan and on promo in a couple of countries and WTG tour was promoting the WTG album which had just been released which is why she sang three songs from it on her tour!
I take it you have missed the reports saying she is going to perform one new single and a classic on the next part of the tour which will replace two of the current tracks? She will have had six months to make the changes. I think she could manage that given that the full tour was organised in less time.

Listening to the demo again. It just sounds like just another R&B pop tart's song trying to be Rhianna. I wonder if Madonna will 'black up' for the video? It's about the only look she hasn't tried yet. Whining and grining in a pair of batty riders.

Bullshit. I'm a Madonna fan since 1984. If I don't like a record of hers, nobody is going to tell me I'm not a true fan. I just don't like it. I don't like the original version of 4M - do you think I'm not a 'true' fan? I think the original mixes of Hollywood and American Life suck too.
As for the Madonna losing interest, I wonder who leaked it? I know she has dropped people like that Scottish bagpipe player who blabbed about going on tour with her. Perhaps this is another bitch slap to those who have stepped out of line? Or, perhaps it is just hype BS like so much news we hear.

I also bought the cassette and then the vinyl version. I wish I had bought the gold Aussie CD but I couldn't afford £17 at the time! D'oh!

Yep, the Greatest Hits is the last part of her contract and then she is freeeeeeeeeee!
However, LiveNation don't actually have a recording set up so I think there was talk of licensing it back to Warner's for music releases

I find it odd that Shep said, the more pop she went, the less people were buying her albums? True Blue and Like A Virgin are amongst her biggest selling albums ever with the Immaculate Collection being one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Like A Prayer was also a huge seller. I'm Breathless sales were much lower but Vogue was the only real pop song on it!
I love this album. It's great, the videos were great too and one of my most favourite periods.
The album should have been released a few weeks before the book so people could get to know Dita and judge the music without the images.

I'm serious. Compared to other artists, her performances aren't so engaging, more theatrical pieces. Prince blew the O2 out of the water throughout the whole show. With Madonna, I sometimes find myself distracted by all that is going on and stage and screen and not really fully engaged with the song.

But 4 Minutes was a really striking song with over the top production, a duet with Trousersnake and generally kick ass - way more impressive than this. This is the type of rubbish Britney is churning out. Admittedly, it's a demo but I still think it must me a misleading tease or fake.

The remixes on the Confessions Tour worked really well for both Music Inferno and Erotica. It's great she attempts to remix old songs but I suppose some won't work as well as she had hoped. ITG is ok but I think partly doesn't work as the performance just isn't that great. Like Music on S&S it's taken an iconic track and turned it into a filler track. These are the tracks where she should be getting the crowd involved. Instead, she just tits about in a pair of stupid sunglasses trying to look 15.
Madonna isn't great at getting the audience involved. I've been to five of her concerts and sometimes don't feel I am part of it like I do when I see other artists.

I don't believe it is her or even a proposed demo for her. It's just to blah for a first single. Her first singles are so strong I just don't see how she would let something so generic and bland be released. There is no twist on what is current. FAKE!
