  1. The Iranian people are delighted that they have an opportunity to overthrown a regime that kills women for showing their hair. I've seen several posts from Iranians feeling empowered to stand up against the regime.

Iran has been funding terrorism across the middle east for decades.

I keep seeing pictures and film of how the Lebanon, Iran, Jordan etc used to be before the Islamic cultural revolution took over. It's shocking just how their lives have been repressed by this evil regime.

And I'm seeing middle class white libtards now holding banners supporting the ayatollah. 😂

The Eurostar and the Channel Tunnel say hi 👋 😉

If we zoom in it would feel as if people in Ibiza or Mallorca made this distinction regarding "mainland" Spain.

Yes but they're still recent introductions - the 90s. And they will have helped people feel more European but we don't all frequently use it. I've been on it two or three times in 30 years.

And Ibiza and Majorca are different because when you go mainland Spain, the language and culture are still the same. That's why Ireland doesn't really feel like "Europe" to us as it's a similar culture and language.

At this point I will not be surprised at all if a Neo Nazi like Farage headlines UK. As for the immigration: why wasn't it stopped or at least decreased when the right (ultra at this point) Torries were in power? They were ruling from 2020 till just recently. Not only Labor should be blamed. Actually Labor should probably be blamed the least.

The Tories were in power for fourteen years! And yes, they didn't solve the problem but they're paying the price for not doing so in the fact that nobody is voting for them. Nobody trusts them now.

It's very likely that Farage could win the next election though if immigration, particularly illegal immigration, isn't controlled.

We had three little girls stabbed to death multiple times by a young Somali guy last year that caused riots and the prime minister handled it really badly.

He accused the 'far right' of causing the riots but a recent report has found they weren't responsible.

And you only have to look at the recent multiple murders in central Europe by people driving cars into crowds and the stabbing of young Austrian (?) teenager to know this isn't a 'far right' issue.

  4. A million people a year are coming into the country legally and illegally and it's completely unsustainable in a small country -they mainly stay in England but Wales or Scotland. We've got a housing crisis with four million homes needed and a health service that's struggling to cope.

The ruling classes are unaffected by this but the average person is expected to have just accept it.

If this isn't addressed we'll end up with Farage who just the most self serving sack of shit.

and that´s normal, we all do. By the way, for me is really strange when they announce some tours as UK+Europe: was it like that before brexit?

Yes people have always said that. It just means continental Europe. If you just said you were doing a European tour, it can imply you're not actually playing the UK.

Brits know they're part of Europe but it really does make a big difference when you're an island and you have to get a plane or boat to go anywhere foreign.

It's only in the last 20 years that people have started banging on about being "European" and it tends to be a pretentious statement to make them seem interesting and well travelled.

I thought that was compulsory before. I mean, my last time in the US was in 2015, and they asked for it before, when you fill a document from the internet (I don´t remember the name, you fill in the document, you pay, but that doesn´t mean you will be allowed to go thourgh the border in the US), and then, once you are in the border you have to fill in another one (the one that used to ask if you have been with ne nazis in the second world war, yes, I have filled that in the XXst century). And then, the police in customs-borders asks about where are you going to stay, alone or with somebody, your plans, your family...

Yes, that is true. Perhaps they're really cracking down on it. There have been a few stories of British people being jailed and deported recently.

It's weird to live in a world now where my government is warning us for saftey issues when traveling to the US.. From journalists to LGBTQ people to muslims...

Also, you need to make sure you have accommodation before you go. Several Brits have been deported immediately or jailed for a couple of weeks then deported because they didn't have an address for where they were going to stay. The border patrol assumed they were trying to work illegally when they just wanted to travel across the country! It's crazy.

  8. Electric car sales are down overall in the UK. People are discovering that they don't have great resale value, replacement batteries are massively expensive, like £20k in some instances and we don't have the infrastructure in place for recharging en route.

But yes, Tesla has also become toxic with the more left-leaning customers that would more likely buy them.

The other thing I'm not a psychic about that happened the last time and will happen again, his party has a SLIM majority in the house, essentially every single member of the republican party in congress needs to vote for every piece of legislation they try to pass from here on out or they will get nothing done. They're notoriously bad at doing this.

When this whirlwind and chaos of executive orders is behind us, and pissing off of our allies and pseudo mass deportations are behind us which seems to be the only thing he knows how to do and which is all for the glitz and glamor (aka Fox News style populism), his party is going to get nothing done and that's when we'll be back to him just being that big, useless, pathetic little BITCH that left the White House in embarrassment, but everyone forgot about because we have amnesia and are brainwashed.

Yes, that's why I'm not too bothered about him. We got through the last few years of his presidency and I expect he'll leave this one like a flat fart.

well...I really don´t know a lot about internal politics in the USA, but most of the presidents, if not all the presidents in the last decades, have, if we speak of foreign affairs, blood in their hands. I really don´t know what is going to happen, I hope is nothing, but it seems to me that can´t be way worse than the ones before. Again, in foreign affairs. Let´s see what happens. Nothing good, but I wonder if it´s nothing good as always, or worse.

Trump is the only president that didn't go to war during his presidency in recent times. Even Obama did. The fact that he is such a potential psycho meant some foreign powers decided against any provocative activity. It's also one of the reasons given Hamas decided to agree to a deal. And it was noted that Putin didn't invade Ukraine until Biden came into office.
