I wonder what people thought of the American life video at the time? I just remember the anger reading in a topic that said "madonna pulled the American life video" (and I kept thinking "what does 'pulled' mean"? :p)

But did people love it at the time? I remember they showed it on canvas/pretty big "serious" main tv channel here. in full. on a serious politics show. even after they took it back that channel was still showing repeats during the night over and over again which was pretty funny.

The US was still in a state of hyper-sensitivity post 9-11. The line suggesting that she was unpatriotic spread like wildfire even though few people from the GP actually saw the video since it was removed from the air immediately. As for them, the liberals have reproached her lacked of courage in withdrawing the video.

There was no "rudeness"  between Madonna and Ian.  They both have dry senses of humour and were basically mucking around with each other.  All good fun and no disrespect between both of them.

She did interact with the other guests - complimented Danny on Trainspotting and talked directly to him several times.   " Tamwar from Eastenders "  @Crux @Kim @nightcutter  - can you believe he is the UK soap star to have a lead in the movies  !    - was so nervous throughout the entire interview and I kind of felt sorry for him.  He and Lily James did not say much.   She was perfectly friendly and fine with Sheryl too.

I do agree that the outfit was too tight - only saying this as she found it difficult to sit in and don't all of us know what it it like to sit around in uncomfortable clothing.

Otherwise,  if people think that is being bitchy and rude - all I can say is you have not obviously been around real bitches and horrors in true life.  Madonna was not bitchy, rude, disrespectful.

    Thank you.

I'm so sick of all those people so used to projecting a false and perfect life on social media that they are offend about anyone who does not perpetually wear a mask of sanitized perfection.  They are offend about everything: humor, sarcasm, metaphor, honesty... I've repeated it many times: Madonna's personality is totally unadapted to the ridiculous and puritanist era we live. If anyone is offended by Madonna's attitude during this interview, it is definitely his problem and not her.

    It’s torture!!!

But it gets me so excited, I can’t believe all the praise I read here, seems to good to be true. Please please please don’t you all lie to me, I want to believe the hype, I need every word to be REAL.

Fortunately, I am traveling which makes it easier to be reasonable and wait friday. With this album, I wanted to find back the pleasure of hearing the singles and the album only when they were released. In an age of instant gratification, there are so few opportunities to experience the pleasure of anticipation.

Well I walked out of a random underground stop in East London today (West Ham) & right infront of the escalator was a huge poster of the blonde ‘handmaiden’ album cover (which I plan on going back to steal after midnight🤣)...so if I had asked 10 random strangers getting off at that station I guess they would know!

I have been in London since the beginning of the week and every 2 station of The Tube has a poster of Madame X. 🤩
