@peter all three album booklets are different and the original (non-darkened) spy pic appears in one of them.

So at this point, the only song she hasn’t spoken about publicly is Looking For Mercy, right?
I know she mentioned the inspiration behind Crave at the Billboard Music Awards and mentioned that IDSIF is about being a gypsy (and that the stems/finger snaps are from Vogue) in one of her junket interviews.
We still know nothing about Mercy. How odd.

I agree so much. And after watching the Madame X doc, I love this song even more (if possible). An important entry in her artistic canon.

Sitting here, emotional, completely awestruck by the doc. I’m not even this inspired at 34 and here’s Madonna at 60, the media’s most abused punching bag, creating FUCKING ART and gaining inspiration from cultures that span the globe! It’s like she becomes more mythical and intricate as the years pass.
“People feel like they are God when they’re holding a gun.” Even more layers to the song’s title.

An integral part of the album! Batuka is so necessary and beautifully constructed. A true reflection of the global influences that run through the album. When the drums intensify the moment she says "let me catch my breath," I find myself catching my breath.

Beautiful companion to the album! She talks about every song except IDSIF and LFM. This doc is a keeper.
