These four years have been particularly painful. I don't post often on here, but I'm on every single day always hoping to hear sometime, but day after day it is another disappointment.  I'm not sure if it is just me getting older, but from taking 18 months from the recording of the RHT to the actual release of the recording, which was around 2 1/2 years after the release of the actual album...and now a year ago today that she was in the studio, but still NO news. ... It's just really frustrating for long-term fans (since 1986 here). The last decade has been one delay after another, missed opportunity after missed opportunity, more and more backlash, all the while allowing her legendary status to be minimized by the press and the world to the point where they are trying to erase and minimize her legacy ... and she nor anybody in her team seem to care - in fact, it seems as though they are all TRYING to throw it all away. I practically expect the entire roll out to be a complete and total disaster, just like the last few eras. I know how lucky we are to have a living legend still releasing albums and being active, but PLEASE, give us something...

What an uplifting post. Can’t wait to read more from you during the upcoming era.

  2. There was an album postponement? I guess I missed that. If we’re referring to Madonna’s comments about the album dropping in ‘18, it’s VERY typical for projects to take longer than artists often anticipate. I can think of dozens of examples when artists quote a release date that doesn’t quite pan out for a multitude of reasons. A postponement is drastically different. No one here knows anything. It’s January 16. Give it time.

I completely disagree and so do many people on this forum and her fans (it's even mentioned in the Album's English wikipedia entry in the first paragraph). But more power to you for loving the final Kanye West mixed version 👍

P.S. Before I get attacked or banned, I know Kanye West didn't remix every single track, but every single track was remixed over and over again by several different producers and co-producers and, as a fan of music and someone with ears and an opinion, I have the right to not like that and think it severely degraded the quality of the final product without being labeled an "entitle backseat producer."

Yep, we’ll just have to totally disagree.

I'm not being dramatic, look at Rebel Heart. It was a going in an amazing direction and then Kanye West came in and remixed the entire thing literally in the last couple of months. Like, oh, guess what, JUST KIDDING, here's the new sound.

At the end of the day we have so many songs to choose from and I LOOOOOOVE Rebel Heart, but... given what happened I am nervous and skeptical.

Also, remember what happened with William Orbit? He said she was way too preoccupied with other things to create the album he thought they were going to create.

That’s not what happened. Fans heard tons of material they were never meant to, became entitled backseat producers, formed conclusions about what the final album was going to sound like, thought they were privvy to the recording/mastering creative process, and ended up disappointed because of their own theories. Rebel Heart is a fantastic record...as is.

How is Mirwais the biggest hope ?   Madonna has been making incredible music for years.  With all different producers.   We really do sell her so short.  Patrick Leonard, Steven Bray, Nile Rogers, William Orbit, Stuart Price and Mirwais to name but a few.  Madonna is the magic ingredient in all of her great work.  People should not forget that.

I really hope this means "its as good/nearly as good as COADF" rather than "its better than Hard Candy MDNA and Rebel Heart". They called Rebel Heart her best album since COADF, but thats not really a hard bar to clear.

Reviewers also called MDNA her best since Ray Of Light.

I hate the comparisons. Each Madonna album is exquisite and brings something fresh to the table. And, yes, MDNA is included in that. Highly underrated by fans.
