    "honey come over here" OMG

i wanna feel sorry for the parents for being exposed/shamed like this (and for the patience with the kid), but the way they handle it is all kinds of wrong. would it be wrong to have stepped up and told the kid to behave? sometimes it's more effective when it's a stranger. im surprised no one at the plane did this

Yes, no one really steps up anymore because they don't want to get trouble with overprotective and sensitive parents. But I do it all the time tbh. It's also how I was brought up, things were really different back then and we got quite a few rants from strangers. Just recently I was very harsh with a couple of siblings who ran around and spit at other children. First I asked them in a friendly manner to stop, but then I had to get really loud and dominant. They were shocked, but it worked. I still don't know, which one of the grown ups around was there parent.

Sad but true.  People have now become desensitized. Another day.  Another mass shooting in America.

Just as Jazzy said though, that teacher's attitude is part of the problem. It's never the right time to talk about gun control it seems.

Why is it that America is the only (developed) Country  which these mass shootings constantly happen?  It's horrible that these 17 people, many of whom were kids, were killed. How tragic. When is it gonna stop?

The problem is the culture.  America has a serious problem and it's time to do more than just "pray" and send "condolences". A lot of evil and sick people here in America.

Seriously though, what action is being taken? I mean, the NRA is too powerful so don't expect any change in regards to gun control.

At least beef up security at all schools. Panic buttons, more security and even metal detectors. If that's what it takes then that's what it takes.

Just take some action at least.

I agree. Watching from the outside it's all such a disgrace, and the U.S. were always supposed to be leaders. It has become so pathetic and sad as a country.

I think you got the teachers statement wrong though. He/she is exactly condemning the phrase 'it's not the right time'. Nothing wrong with the attitude.

    This is so sad.

But first of all, why did the parents allow such them (9yo/7yo/4yo) to go to beach without any adult?

I guess it was just different times and from what I understood it was not very far. And they must have been familiar with taking the bus. I used to go to a nearby lake alone all the time, with my bike, as a kid. It's so sad that this is unimaginable nowadays... How will I ever be able to give my kids the space they need? How can you let go with stories like this in mind? It's hard and frightening.

I love how the world's hatred for Donald Trump (and the US to a lesser extent) is what will ultimately bring South and North Korea together again :lmao:

You could be right! Imagine if this was his involuntary legacy. He would hate it so much

  5. Every time I check this thread I see Donald Trump is mad again.

I almost feel bad for hating his guts because he is clearly demented and has a serious condition. And if it all wasn't so freakishly embarrassing I'd still laugh at the Americans for getting exactly what they deserve with this clown as president. Hubris galore payback.

But in this survey there is no info on Western Europe muslims. There is survey only on Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo etc. where the muslims are majority. But those countries were never very religious and up till recently were communist/socialist thus not really representative of the views of the muslims in Western Europe. Those in WE probably support sharia.

Why would you think that? Do you have ANY sort of real evidence or studies to back it up, other than just 'probably'??
