Tomorrow the results of the postal vote on same sex marriage will be announced. I hope that the Yes vote wins easily.  It has been such a vicious campaign run by the vote No bigots. They have thrown every non issue into this and used an anti political correctness movement to jump on board which has nothing to do with marriage equality.  Will feel so ashamed of Australia if the no vote wins.

I am so glad it is nearly over and am anticipating the results tomorrow. I am hoping the yes vote wins, not only for equality but to show i don't live in a backwards biggotted country!

However Jan the amendment bills that have been suggested are shocking. Allowing discrimination due to religious belief is a joke and will set us back 50 years. Whilst i agree that a church could object to a same sex wedding taking place in their church a celebrant or a business should not refuse to marry a couple or provide services to the wedding based on their religious views. If this is allowed where is the line drawn? Could religions refuse service to other religions? Does that mean a business could refuse service to someone of faith because they don't believe in religion? It would open up a Pandora box.

In any case even if yes wins i do not have faith in the bill being passed so easily. We may need to either reject a bill (if it is full of legal doscrimination) or if it is there is a big fight in parliment it may not be passed until libs are booted.

This whole thing has been a nightmare and shown how backwards and biggoted we are as a country and how scared religions are of becoming non existant as people no longer have faithor belive in religion. They are trying to remain relevant (like gaga) but no one cares anymore

Out of nowhere earlier I was wondering when you'd finally find out. Had a feeling it was real soon! So it's just hours away?! Soo rooting for you!! Still CanNOT believe it's Australia dealing with such US centric garbage. Just 5 years ago I DEF would've thought the scenerios would be reversed and for your country this would be beyond old silly news. Best of luck!! And eager to see the results. Even w/ some of the other tedious political BS you were talking about, a win is a WIN even if it's a squeaker. A win esp something this big is ALL about momentum!! sending good luck smooches to you :smooch:along with all the MANY M loving Aussies who are here!!

Election Night '16 was his peak in life and it's been a year full of shambolic failure since. Like a high school football star who keeps a case full of trophies and spends lots of time polishing them and shows them to anyone who visits his house, it's all he'll ever have. That's why he's still campaigning against Hillary Clinton on a near-daily basis as well. Living in the past for as long as he can before he finally croaks because of all the McDonald's and KFC.

Male version of Mariah and her #1 'celebratory' cakes. Two bloated, obsessive, crazed man/woman child pigs.

For sure, Northam was a moderate but the Bernie crowd's fave (Tom Perriello) did not win that governor primary. And I hate to say this, but if the progressive wing can't even take control of the ridiculously disorganized DNC (Bernie supporter Keith Ellison lost to Clintonesque/centrist Democrat Tom Perez a few months back), then the progressive wing isn't going to be calling the shots in 2020.

The only Clinton-aligned (or centrist) Democrats who I can think of that might run in 2020 are Corey Booker, Andrew Cuomo, Terry McAuliffe, or Kirsten Gillibrand. I'd count Joe Biden, but I don't think he's running. They're all business-friendly moderates.

Bernie will probably run, but he's has already been out maneuvered: California moved up its primary date in 2020 which means a (likely) moderate Democrat would take the majority of its delegates. It's easy for scrappy up-and-comers to take the small caucus states but California is a behemoth. Even Bernie couldn't beat Clinton there 6 months into the primary and with a huge donor base. California is expensive, diverse, and huge. That's why Clinton won it twice (in the 2008 primary and again in 2016). If someone picks up the early states and gets California, it will be nearly impossible to catch up. I think the Democratic party did this on purpose to discourage Bernie or those like him from infiltrating their party's primary.

All that said, I don't necessarily disagree with you. Although I am not sure Trump will finish out his term, Mike Pence is just as deadly (but not as erratic or unfocused). He could win in 2020 unless the Democrats nominate someone who is a true contrast.

As much as I dislike Clinton I still think Bernie/Elizabeth Warren are even MORE trouble and less electable. Yes, they'd do well in some states like in 2016 but no way would it work in a general election. Some if not many of Bernie's policies I agree with but don't care for him, his style etc..Just WAY too off the deep end left. The rejection of Trump last night is due to him going off the deep end far right. This is a center left/right country (depending on the state). I still say Bernie wouldn't have done better than Hillary last year. He would NOT have gotten the minorities, older people, centrists etc...I'd absolutely vote for someone like McCualife and the like even w/ his major ties to Clinton. Whenever he talks he laser focuses on the *economy, healthcare etc..and NOT divisive issues (like Warren and others would do). I just think Hillarys name is a weapon now and as toxic as Trump, Pelosi, McConnell etc...ANYone but a Trump like Republican I'd consider if they were socially moderate. Unfortunately there's next to basically no more 'moderate' Repubs anymore. They've been hijacked by the far right.

  4. Finally some loong overdue needed f'king victories after a year of 24/7 culture of white trash, hateful, nazi-esque sewage and loss after loss (even if they were special elections in super red states). The irony is it's almost exactly a year after the worst day basically since 9/11 (11/9/16). Don't care what most of these pundits say this was *positively an F U to Trump. Nuttin more/less.

Northam seems nice but nothing special at all. Bland/meh but still 10x and better than the other dude or ANY GOP so of course it's great he won. Suppose his demeanor is perfect for VA though. Yes, it's bright purple,'basically' blue but not 100% yet outside of the Northern VA. It's one of those states very similar to PA and a few others. Outside of Philly and Pittsburgh, basically Alabama-esque toothless white trash.

Like others are saying unless Trump is smoked, removed, or collapses/dies naturally etc..if the Dems nominate someone like McCaulife (now former VA gov.) who is DEF gonna run and buds with the Clintons (along with many, many others linked to the toxic Clinton name) very likely Trump wins. 2016 all over again. You'll get 2 or 3 independents who will split the vote. The Dem. nominee has to be a fresh, younger-ish ROCK star w/ NO Clinton connections who can KO Trump during the primaries and debates etc...

Trump is NOT losing around 30-35% of the country. His loons are a demented, insane cult. He could destroy all their lives economically, health care etc...they DON'T care. Trump ain't a Bush, Nixon etc. All primitive and personality deep connection w/ his racist far white wing sheep.

  5. Okay..anyone elses Gaydar short circuiting over this Poopadadpolis shady looking dude? lol The power bottom gay glow is pulsating esp in his smile. Cute though in a slimy and def. fuckable way- though but thats it. Rosie on Twitter hours ago already declared him and Carter Page the two gays who may take Trump down lmao!! When someone asked 'how do you know'. She simply said 'look at them..I know'. lol!

  6. Geezus now the media is obsessing over that Donna (debate question giver:boring: ) Brazile bitch again. The one who they OCD on 10x more than Trump those last few crucial weeks. :wacko:She may just be trying to sell books but ALL this does is give fuel to the Trump trolls, Fox etc...Also, re-ignite the 'rigged' bullshit and prevent the whiny, grating Lena Dunham SJW Bernie 'rebels' who did NOT vote in 2016 won't vote again. This very possibly may affect the VA Governor election on Tuesday. Super shitty timing. If the Dems blow this one (with a super awful Trump like candidate there) forget it. Basically confirms Dems are lazy, garbage and Trump has a solid shot at winning again in 3 years. I have a feeling Dems are gonna lose it on Tuesday. What the fuq is/was the point of Women's marches, Invisible etc...I get the hate/dislike for Hillary but I equally dislike Bernie. They BOTH sliced the party in half. If Dems lose Tuesday, Perez needs to be booted asap!

    I think about this often.

Not in a morbid sense, but I truly wonder how long he can continue his lifestyle and not drop dead from cardiac arrest. He's not healthy. He's out of shape. He's admitted to only sleeping like 3-4 hours a night. He eats fast food all the time. He doesn't exercise. He's constantly angry. I truly can't see him living past 80 years old.

And maybe it's wishful thinking, but I honestly can't see him seeking another term out of sheer exhaustion. At least I hope not. I don't use the term 'HATE' to describe human beings, but I can say unequivocally, I truly hate him and what he's done to this country. He has, in the worst way, divided people on a level that has never been seen. One could even say it's almost brilliant in the fashion in which he's done it. But I despise everything he stands for, everything he says, and everything he's done as a human being. He's truly a deplorable.

This. Almost a YEAR later and it's basically as horrid to deal with every day. Not like if any other typical/normal Republican won (Romney,  Bush, Rubio etc..) who I wouldn't agree with on most if not all issues but would be able to get through it like we did with George W. At least all those men are actually SANE, decent on some level and would know how to do the job. Been nothing but a 24/7 shit/ horror show. My feeling towards the orangutan are equally as raw as much as a year or 2 ago during the campaign to this very day. That face, voice, energy, persona etc...pushes every worst button imaginable. I don't and won't 'wish' any harm but if it happens, whatevas. 'God' did their thing lol.

Let's face it, most of these things end at a supreme court anyway. And I don't remember a ruling in the last years that was not in favor of marriage equality. Sometimes justice is blind or in this case has no sexual orientation. The point is, laws are made to protect the people and before the law all citizens are equal. At least in modern, enlightened societies. The fact that some governments want to limit certain rights to a certain group of people is unlawful as it gets. It has always been but it has never been challenged until two decades now. Most certainly because there were still laws that were much more harmful for gays. If being gay could result in prison time, marriage equality is not on your mind. And it usually needs a supreme court ruling anyway if a government or parliament is hesitant to vote on it out of fear to lose some votes from conservative people. For the simple bureaucratic act that a supreme court ruling is binding for all courts in the land. A ruling there, basically becomes law. And I suppose it will end there in Australia too. The unfortunate thing is that the damage is done and Australias reputation has suffered immensely. I mean, it's kinda surreal. Some time ago when someone would have asked me which countries I consider the most open minded, Australia would have been in my Top 3, next to Canada and The Netherlands.

Absolutely. New Zealand (which has it since 2013) is another place I would have def added to the top 5 10 years ago. Spain too. Like I said yesterday, beyond perplexed..still that the f'king US (even though they barely squeaked it through) has marriage quality (for now lol) and NOT Australia! Aside from third world countries, Middle East etc..in the modern western world the anti gay right wing mafia machine in the US is the worst and will NOT attempt to end their mission until legal gay marriage is overturned. Of course they'll continue to be a few groups everywhere w.w. else who are against it or are not 'pro' gay marriage but (like Merkel in Germany) majority move on and/or truly don't give a shit. They most def still do in the US

  9. This is beyond ridiculous, tired, yet unfortunately quite similar and very possibly an effective pattern of what we've seen before. Very similar vibes here of Prop 8 in CA. :/ Trends ain't looking good. Everyone basically assumed it's CA so 'how' could that garbage pass? Yes, it ALL came down to last minute momentum, right wing groups obsessing 24/7 on it, organization, propaganda to sway/change the GP (people who are indifferent, soft yes voters, or basically supportive but still easily swayed based on a f'king commercial lol)

For things like this and other social related elections, candidates, votes etc...these far right self loathing shit bags almost always get their bigots out mob style. While the other side is complacent, lazy etc...Just like Brexit, Trump, Prop 8 and now maybe Australia. Sorry, but the worldwide far right 'trend' that started around 2014/15 after serious momentum of progress hasn't come close to dying its well overdue death yet. Beyond obvious there's still some serious backlash to the social changes that happened w.w in 2010-14 or so. Angry, hateful, bigoted white man last stand here. They're going balls out. Beyond flabbergasted in 2017 this shit is happening in Australia of all places! 10 years ago easily would've believed Australia would've had marriage equality before the US! To think if one liberal Supreme Court justice croaks (RBG) very good chance it gets overturned in the US! Couldn't be more clear Aus is like the US to what NZ is to Canada.

omfg and this god, grits and gravy Chick Fil A guzzling cutie is only 35! :blink:Imagine..just try to imagine when she's 45 (if it even takes that long)! Kathy Bates in Misery x200 worse/scarier. Just talking Annie Wilkes NO shade at all towards Queen Kathy

  11. :dead: Yet f'king again at some of these minion pundits praising and impressed with his 'performance' today. lmao Just like when Van Jones said in February this is when he became president etc...Gimme fucking break. He simply showed up and did the bare minimum of what a president is supposed to do! :doh:All he 'did' were photo ops basically.Yet, WHO doesn't get it by now- ALL about himself. A day or moment of apparent sanity and that gets the media and others tingly. Tick tock until he goes off the rails again with his crazed Donny dementia. He simply did this knowing he'd be all over every channel, get some good/favorable publicity by pasty white sheeple (90% Trump country anyway) worshiping/welcoming him etc.... Just another campaign rally! Christ. The attention span and dumb down-ness of the US public is horrifying.

  12. What a  CRAZY f'kng news night. But this one/tonight is possibly the biggest of the summer. Nazi Gorka resigns yet he pardons an equally bigger pig (Arpeo), banning transgenders, the Cat. FOUR hurricane which he aint doing/saying shit about! :abuse: Hmm...LGBTs for Trump here (you know who u are or were even if you've been MIA for months) he/Pence took down the Ts- now he's coming for the LGBs next!! lol He's going full nuclear now since he knows he's prob going down soon- but not before starting an actual nuclear war!!  This pig fcker will blow up the world vs going down alone.
