  1. .I really don't get it. I mean, why not rent a damn café in Lisbon, get your new musicians friends together and live stream 4-5 songs. Everyone who will potentially buy the record will notice, and fans would be happy. Simple. She already did the big bang event thing (grammys, superbowl), and I doubt it translated into sales.  I mean, casual buyers don't exist anymore, the casual buyer migrated to spotify and other free streaming services.

Your so right, although 4 Minutes is a good lead single also...

GMAYL & LFL I think didn’t match the lead single wowness we have come to expect from her, although they would have been good as maybe 3rd singles from those albums

I agree on GMAYL but LFL is anthemic (is that a word? Lol). It really is, it just builds up and those 90s house vibes drag you along until the very end. Many folks here dismiss it as it didn't chart, but to me LFL is the single I was waiting for from her since HC dropped. No kidding.

In my country, Brazil, Batuka is a form of African magic.

We call it Batuka, which is an instrument, but here everybody knows it for this kind of magic. It's like witchcraft.

    Thought that was interesting.

    Interesting.

Batucadas are pretty popular all across Latin America I believe: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batucada. We had a batucada show in my college graduation party, super awesome and fun!!

Yes,  This is what her inept record company has been ignoring for years.  Well,  what I have noticed in Australia so not speaking for other countries.   The last time I heard a new Madonna song played a lot on the radio, her album promoted on tv etc was for Hardy Candy and 4 minutes.  Only her die hard fans even knew about the release of MDNA and Rebel Heart.  I know that radio is not the main influence it once was but the difference between the attention give to Hard Candy in comparison to MDNA  was staggering and dreadful.  In a country that had always embraced Madonna completely, it was shockingly different.

Simply not acceptable for the most influential and biggest selling female artist of all time.  Madonna always dominated the radio and had massive publicity for new releases.  Her new team and Live Nation and Interscope should do some proper work and what they are there for.  They need to promote her album on streaming services big time and get her releases done in proper time to capitalise.  Madonna herself should realize this too.  Get attention on her music and celebrate her reputation and past mega hits too.  Remind people why she is the biggest selling female singer of all time and why all the young superstars admire and love her so much.

This Era needs mass publicity, mass attention and most importantly - people need to know and hear her new music.

This! Same happened with radio in Mexico: last time a song got healthy airplay was Give it 2 me (HC). After that, it just went drastically decreasing to non-existent. Her team needs to get to work!

Maybe she will release a couple of EP (every month one);  experimental dance, world music inspired by Portugal and Africa, current music styles with mucho futuring and then before the tour super extra deluxe LP

I've been up for the EP idea ever since she left Warner. Her last two albums are more like 3-4 ep's stitched together than albums.

Sadly I agree theres at least prejudices. Read the comment above yours: one person moaning why she's not collaborating with Rita Ora. What makes better Rita than Anitta except being from an Anglo-Saxon country and singing songs from Anglo-Saxon pop structures?

You would be AMAZED the level of racism in Latin America countries regarding their own roots. Many times the elites HATE anything related to their own pre Columbine cultures. Reggaeton is 100% Latin roots and people going all Anglo goes from snobism to racism really fast.

Now, let's not get too far out there. Reggaeton is from Panama & Puerto Rican, and heavily influenced by the anglo-saxon hip hop culture, mixed with sounds from the region and the island. So no, there is not one monolith 'latin' thing. That was market manufactured to cater overseas tastes. And racism exists everywhere, the 'levels' of LA are no different than the rest of the globe. Also, Anitta is the same as M collaborating with Cardi B, or that Oral girl, Britney, or any other startlet trying to make a living by yachting or jobs here and there on the voice and those types of shows. Nothing exotic or particularly Brazilian to begin with. She's a product of globalization. She's not collaborating with Marisa Monte for fuck sakes! This is cheap af. Maybe the song turns out ok? Who knows! But so far it's looking as a by-numbers effort to get those hip and young crowds Cougardonna so desperately wants since 4 Minutes.

So, is this girl big only in Brazil or in all of Latin America?

She just did a stint on The Voice MX. She's trying to branch outside BR. Guess her PR team is good, she got M. M's thirsty to get her name attached to any hot flash in the pan, of-the-moment thing. So a match made in heaven. Yuck.

Truth or Dare shower gel paid for TUTR video

Awful video, guess the gel didn't sell well :lmao:

I agree that the RH videos are better than MDNAs. I loathe BIM (precisely, besides its video game sounds, because I hate name songs, such ego!), but the video is really good. On the new album's name, M seems to usually go for simple titles, so I wouldn't rule out Magic. On videos, I miss her storyline videos. I feel like after Hung Up, all videos are loaded with beauty shots, rather than tell a story.

I like the title "MDNA" for madonna, but more for a side project (like an EP) or something really creative/eclectic.. the songs on the album don't really fit that (aside from a few)

Interesting @Nikki. I see the title as a reduction of her name, and thus fits the whole project perfectly. It's Madonna, distilled and repackaged in all its colors (even the album cover fits).

  10. This is ridiculous. But more sadly, I think it just opens up a Pandora's box. Imagine in 50 years or so, all legal documents include not only age race sex/gender, but also bio-age, estimated clinically. How well have you lived or taken care of yourself, chronic diseases, etc.... All of it in one single number to add yet another layer of social differentiation. Sick and scary. Its like sci-fi shit.
