Even still, many are not taking it seriously, and there is an attitude of “This is America, and I won’t be told to stay in.” It’s very upsetting. There’s also complete lack of understanding about this virus. As soon as one state has a relatively “good” day in terms of one statistic or another, I see people commenting things like “we should be back to normal soon.” Or people posting the number of recoveries, as though that is relevant to the scope of this virus’s damage. Sadly, I think that in the United States, we probably will open back up far too soon and see devastating consequences.

    thats such a shame

  2. ‘There’s Some Corona For You’: DUI Suspect Brenda Johnson Spits On Arvada Police Officer

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) — A 62-year-old woman suspected of driving under the influence spit on a officer in Arvada on Sunday morning, investigators said. Brenda Johnson was quoted as saying, “There’s some Corona for you, now all you need is a lime.”

Police were called to the 6,000 block of Olde Wadsworth Boulevard at 7:22 a.m. Sunday, after a report of a driver crashing into four parked cars. They found Johnson behind the wheel of the suspect vehicle at the 7-Eleven at West 58th Ave and Wadsworth Boulevard.

“Johnson was arrested and booked at the Arvada Police Department for DUI and other traffic charges. While at a local detoxification center, Johnson began spitting on the arresting officer,” officials stated. “Johnson was transported back to the Police Department and was booked on charges of Second Degree Assault on a Peace Officer (felony), DUI, Hit and Run and several other traffic charges.”

It’s not clear whether Johnson has the coronavirus. The officer is following department of health guidelines in reference to COVID-19.

Last week, a Salida man allegedly spit at a health care worker after telling police he had COVID-19. Antonio Archuleta is being held on a $20,000 cash-only bond in Chaffee County Detention Center, and is separated from the rest of the jail population, according to The Mountain Mail.

I think many are simply not comprehending how long the social distancing is going to need to last in the USA. I’m not speaking of people on this forum, but in general. Many expect that things will start going back to normal by mid April, and that’s unlikely according to reputable sources like The Atlantic and most health experts who are interviewed.

it's such a shameofshame. how you been?

What the US needs is a full-blown lockdown nationwide. Selective lockdown won't work and all lockdown has to be done at the same time so that the virus will be eliminated in all states at the same time also. Doing it selectively will only prolong the predicament. Economy? One month sacrifice of minimal to zero commerce at the expense of eliminating the virus is worth it. Economy can always recover after.

I agree that it should all happen at the same time.

I got the impression he was going in Trump's total opposite direction. And that his action was lauded by the public. In this video they're actually saying he prevented medical supplies from reaching their destination?

Of course he is doing better than Trump, anyone on that spectrum is better but, I feel this is a whole trick by the media to sensationalize Cuomo and have #Cuomoforpresident trending as Biden is a weak candidate. His job is to take care of people, heck even Rudy was praised post 9/11.

Well, currently there is one particular party and a president of a particular party in power.  Therefore it is perfectly fine to blame them for what they are doing AT THE MOMENT.

Also, I would like to argue that the state of the social systems in the US is more the doing of the Republican Party. After all, they are the ones proclaiming that the free market is the solution for each and everything. And of course, prayers.

Gurl I think the people earned a free pass 2 blame Republicans and that retarded orange pseudo dictator u got in the white house right now.

My response was directly to the following headline:
Teenage boy whose death was linked to COVID-19 turned away from urgent care for not having insurance
I can't solely blame Trump for this poor boy that was turned away for not having insurance.

I think the US government and the Trump administration have even managed to do worse than Dumpling Johnson.

The only prominent American politician worthy of praise is Andrew Cuomo, for everything he's doing for the State of NY. God forbid that state falls because if NY falls the population in between coasts is done or at the very least severely impaired
