  1. The second I saw that Insta story on her account I KNEW this would trigger a meltdown here

Tbh at this point I don't care much anymore either. We complained a lot about the rushed affair of MDNA (and it really does show on the album) and the messy ending of the RH recordings (again, very audible in some songs), so we should be glad in a way she's taking her time with the production. And I don't see how the summer release is being threatened by any of this. I choose to believe MTribe's info, they wouldn't be so specific with their news if it didn't come from very close sources.

In the past they had one of the biggest collection of M pics. I never knew them for their exclusives and I don't remember if they are relatable or not. But really: is this a news??? We know for a year that she makes Portuguese inspired music.

Yes of course you're right it's hardly news, but since they were being very specific with the "three songs" thing...I'm wondering if there's something behind that or if they just made that up. The latter is probably more likely though....It's really something I will never understand. Why still come up with fake rumours in 2019?

Please Jupiter or Zeus  don’t let Madonna become a world music act

Too late. As we speak M is already renaming all of her albums in different languages (only in Western languages and no Hebrew, as not to offend the SJWs). This will also include her book SEX, which from now on will be referred to in its infamous Hungarian translation, Slut

  4. The things you read here :rotfl:

Anyway, I just came to say the new clip is, again, totally my thing and makes me confident we're in for a special era  Love the colours, the careless dancing, the Portuguese sounds, the shots of Lisboa intertwined...As most others I doubt this is a music video though, more like a teaser or behind the scenes thingy.

Now I do wonder though - was this all they were filming there on that night? In that case, the music video shoot is probably still to come...

So is that clip an actual song? I would love a Madonna on the guitar song. I’m sick of the over produced stuff that makes her sound like a robot

I think the consensus is it's an overdubbed recording and she's just fooling around. The clip on the other hand doesn't look like sth that was filmed randomly, so whatever it's for, we're one step closer to the visuals of this era...

It has a huge following in Australia that is growing more and more. It was a cult event for years, due to many Europeans living in Australia.  Then it got more and more attention and SBS television promoted it heavily and it took off more.  Due to the final's time - always early Sunday morning, many had Eurovision parties but some also avoided the news and watched it that night on delay at 6 pm, pretending it is live.  It has a lot of love here and a lot of fans that are growing at a rapid rate.

For years it was a running joke that Australia should compete but nobody dreamed it would be possible.  Australians love being a part of Europe now :lmao:

    Thanks for explaining!

Haha, that's amazing. Maybe you can come join the EU too now that Britain is leaving us

Re/ the topic - when are we supposed to get the confirmation again? How did they do this in past years? Only close to the event or do they announce it a few months earlier à la the Superbowl?

i'd like to keep the EUROvision Song Contest an European affair. No American cultural imperialism here, no million dollar $tagings, thank you very much.

This rumor of Madonna performing at the ESC is fake news anyway. M would never.

I hope this is sarcasm, I'm pretty sure it must be. Madonna is one of the most cosmopolitan, sophisticated artists I know and she has worked with European artists on so many occasions in her career. Her work is full of European influences. She's ANYTHING but an 'American cultural imperialist' (I'm just realizing, this sounds a lot like the Soviet Union )

  8. @karbatal I already posted Euphoria on the last page, but yes that one is stunning from beginning to end and nothing short of art.

Those many vids posted here really show the ‚bad‘ reputation Eurovision gets from many isn‘t quite fair, actually - lots of strong performances that outweigh the cheesy ones, esp. in the last couple of years.

If M performed on the National Lottery (during her ‚serious‘ ROL era, mind you), she sure as hell isn‘t doing a bad decision to present her music there.

    Enjoy.

I was just going to post the exact same video

But let's just say there are MANY exhibits why Eurovision isn't exactly the pinnacle of high art...

BUT this is a huge part of the appeal and in between those crazy songs, you do have some really strong acts putting on great performances and presenting very good songs. IMO this, for example, is still an outstanding performance:

    And of course...ABBA!

  10. Yes, looks like it. I had the feeling MTribe was right considering their track record of reliable news...

But thanks to info from @Mensch, it's possible we will get an announcement this month with some first details re/ the new album or single...That will hopefully make the wait more bearable

Having said that, I really like the idea of a May / June release (except for the fact that M fooled us once again with her #soon thing). Early summer will be the best time to get into new M music!

  11. ....so this has been officially confirmed though? I hate to break the excitement because I'm as euphoric as you all, but we've been in these situations before where media reports got it wrong.

If it's true, of course amazing news! It sounds cheesy but it is sort of a Madonna dream come true for me as I've been wishing her to perform there since years. It will be amazing exposure and no better opportunity to start off the new era with a bang! :tigger:

check the stories of that exclusive magic account. I know they posted fake stuff, but sometimes they share images we haven't seen before

    https://www.instagram.com/exclusivemagic/

Pretty sure I‘ve seen this pic before though...I think it‘s a few years back, possibly when she was doing that photoshoot with Terry Richardson? Not sure but it‘s definitely not an unreleased pic.

In fact, I just scrolled through their account and there‘s literally not a single exclusive info or photo...IMO we can dump this site into the ‚fake account‘ category.

Brexit is an opening  to the world

Well, that‘s a first. Can you explain how leaving a 28 state organization (and structuring xenophobic arguments around it) is opening itself up to the world?

Britain is suddenly going to strike groundbreaking partnerships and befriend new nations now that they laid off their chains, or what? Are they going to conquer India again?

A little off-topic (just as 90% of this thread lol), but the songs competing to represent Portugal at Eurovision 2019 were released a few days ago and so far the favorite (most comments, most views, most liked) is the one that mixes Fado, Afro and Electronica, just as Madonna's album will. So if you wonder how such mash-up may/will sound, here it is:

    From Billboard:
    https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/latin/8494610/portugal-2019-eurovision-songs

The songs were culled from about 200 submissions in a contest that was open to the Portuguese public. Judging by YouTube plays, Portugal’s front runner so far is Conan Osiris, whose song “Telemóveis,” which he composed and produced on his computer, and has been played 193,000 times so far.

The music of Osiris -- the alter-ego of Lisbon native Tiago Miranda -- embodies diversity with a mix of styles and sounds including fado, hip hop, techno, rock, kuduro and Bollywood and Arabic musical influences. Osiris has quickly become a sensation in Portugal since the release of his 2017 self-produced album Adoro Bolos. While his song could stand out as a progressive contrast to the usual Eurovision fare, Osiris’ music has been hailed as a calling card for Portugal’s cultural mix, and been described as the sound of freedom.

    Thanks for posting.

It does sound interesting, a bit disjointed and messy at times, but I like the idea of it. If M goes into that direction, mixing in her melodies and harmonies, I'm confident we'd get a great innovative sound once again.
