I believe she will release a video for the song when she is on tour ... for more exposure or on the Brazilian Carnaval (amazing timing, I think so) !!!!

This has NOTHING to do with Brazilian Carnaval. It's like going on about releasing Bitch I'm Loca on Cinco de Mayo.

...not only Anitta fans, but the general public as well, believe me. I am talking from my experience of presenting this album to all kinds of people.

    +1.

This and Crazy are the tracks that generally speaking my different groups of friends, my family and my coworkers have showed a more positive reaction to.

Totally, I just think the deluxe IS the album as far as everyone involved in it is concerned and the 13-track abomination should never have existed in the first place. It’s certainly not the “record” as Madonna herself sees it.

Would agree if this was about Looking for Mercy.

That's the funny thing, Madonna probably just intended for this to be a filler on the album, or at least didn't expect it to be so popular

This. In a way I think she doesn't want to do a video for it because it takes away the attention from HER songs.

    True.

Must say that would have loved her to have replaced Mac Miller with Donna Summer - just my personal choice.  Think that Donna never got enough attention and respect after her death in the media compared to other stars.

Definitely. And it's sad. She was one of a kind and tbh way more deserving of the praise what many who got full attention.

The first single of a new album gets the most attention. I guess too many buzz promos watered down the main release and irritated the public. Maybe an instant double A-single Medellin (Americas) and God Control (rest of the world) - would have been the better choice as first single/s, we will never know. It's a shame: Madonna created some of the best works of her whole career - and it's being ignored by the public at large. I pray that her tour gets the praise she deserves.

Sure but even a strong second or third single can become a bigger hit. Mariah's We Belong Together, P!nk's Who Knew, Britney's Toxic, Christina's Beautiful, Rihanna's Rude Boy... all became the defining hit from that album cycle without being the lead single.

An oddly constructed disco song about gun control was not meant to be the next Hung Up. Too brany and out there for the masses.

Well, number one, there is no need to be rude, number two I am not a sjw, and number three, you are wrong. A "Native Indian" would be someone who was born in India. The reason that the term "Indians" stuck was because when the Americas were discovered the explorers believed that they were IN India, so they called the native tribes "Indians." If you ask Native Americans today if they want to be called "Indians" they will tell you that they do not.

SO, my point is that I don't know why Madonna didn't just write, "I will be Native American, if the tribe is taken" or something to that effect.

To those comments above, which got out of hand because I mentioned "Killers" in a "Batuka" video thread... I am well aware of gay people being burned, women being raped, the poor being downtrodden, etc. I do not live under a rock, my point is that IN MY OPINION these two songs could have really used some polishing in the lyrics department.

I love all of Madonna's albums in different ways, but I will be the first one to say that "Superstar" "Birthday Song" "Spanish Lesson" or "Beat Goes On" are head scratchers among otherwise brilliant bodies of work and I can say the same about certain tracks from MADAME X.

I feel some tension in some of the commentary and perhaps some of that comes from the fact that I am a new poster to this forum, sadly Madonna Xfinity closed shop and I was forced to relocate, lol!

Don't take me as a hater or a troll, I am a genuine fan that just doesn't feel that I have to enjoy everything and I also have the right to say I don't like a track or a look. It doesn't make me a less-than fan. 😃

ok, so this is my third time hearinf funana:

-.marc miller? who? and no michael? that´s so weird.or not, but it´s great she mentions them. Especially whitney, I mean, prince was a friend and she also liked george, but she had her problems with whitney back in the day...or whitney with her. but marc miller?

-This song ihas her voice too touched again😞

-she is really good at mixing happy/sad melodies. I still don´t know if this is a sad or a happy song

-So funana means, let´s go dancing? is there any other  cape verde reference in the song? (to its culture, I mean)

    Maybe she's singing "George, Michael"

    🤣

I dont get the connection sorry

Station claiming they won't play the album version because Swae Lee "raps" are clearly going by a stereotype and not what he actually does in the song. He's singing. So doing it is like trying to remove Mel B from the Spice Girls songs based on her being "a rapper" because of her looks when most of the times she just sings 🤦🏻‍♂️

  10. 1 hour ago, Showdown said:

Lol why are people calling it a rap? He's literally singing 😂😂😂 but tbh i think his part is meh. I'd rather just hear her. I dont think his one verse and background vocals add anything to the song. He literally sounds like any other voice on radio which makes it weird AC took him out.

I guess they'd also produce Mel B-less versions of the Spice Girls as they all sing but she raps huh?

    Hi everyone...

I'm new here, first post actually... and I'm sorry if this was already asked, but, anyone else notice the misprint on the clear vinyl edition?  The record sleeve on mine says Future is on Side A, but, it's actually on Side B.

Hope everyone is in absolute love with Madame X... I know I am!

    X

That happens in both clear, blue,  rainbow and regular editions. There are also at least clear and rainbow editions with the right tracklist.
