Well, if 4 million people watched the show and didn't run to buy the album, that won't make a difference. It's more a question about the tv channel having more profits from the show than from EMI.

300K is a good amount for an album in France.
In Spain, for a foreign act, even 40k is good nowadays. The country has never been more closed to foreing music. Mariah had no song in our radiostations from Emancipation, maybe We Belong together, but only a bit. Pink, Gwen, Fergie, Avril... they are nowhere here. Nor Westlife or Justin. Only Mika could break through. Of course, Madonna is everywhere here, thanks God!
France is a very difficult market too.

With X, she's behaving as a local star in terms of sales. Not in terms of popularity and relevance, which is what i always say and i think i am missunderstood.

If Kylie ends up the week on number 3 that woud be fantastic. But i think that weekend sales arent' any good for her.

It *is* a respectable result. All I'm saying is that it's time to push the album further by exposting a new track to people. I'm not saying she should release "In My Arms" at 6:50 tonight. I'm just saying that she should perform it. It makes perfect sense. Whether or not you care to admit it. "2 Hearts" has NOT been a big smash, so why waste any more time on it?
I have admited that 2 Hearts have been a relative flop, but i think they are wise to promote it till January. She has already presented the whole album in a tv special and you are right that it could be a good idea to present new songs, but only if she can sing the single too. 2 Hearts is not damaging Kylie's career at all, in my opinion. And sometimes things work different in terms of public, because if they keep the second single until the end of Christmas, people will be thristy of something more Kylies-que. I guess the market is very saturated right now, with the promo from the album,the KYlie show, the docu on tv...

Yes, but that's her career and that's why she shouldn't be worried if she sold "only" 82.000 copies, neither should EMI.

She has sold 82.000 copies. I think that's pretty enough for only a week. If sales decreased dramatically, they could change things, but there's nothing clear. I don't think that people who were turned off from 2 Hearts haven't bought the album, because it's one of her best weeks ever. Only Fever sold more.
