  1. I agree. early june 'd fine. we waited two centuries for Hollywood. three for Sorry. if she continues like that we all be dead when she releases the second single of her next album. and granny, she'll be on form, she eats greens, does yoga and pilates.

    :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Forum awards are 6 months away. But YOU are best new poster.....you leave me in stitches girl!!

  2. Motley Crue back on tour? we can expect a sextape on YouTube to promote the thing.

    :lmao:

Ewww....even in their "prime" they were fug. Tommy I guess was ok...in a sleazy, dirty kind of way....that big hunk of meat he used to steer that boat in the Pam&Tommy tape helped bring his hot level up from 0 to 1.

  3. Let's hope that tomorrow this shit is cleared up because for those who have citi bank credit cards, the presale for that starts tomorrow. I plan on giving that one a whirl and seeing how it turns out....not counting on much though. But I would like to know where the fuck I'll be sitting if I'm spending $400 for a ticket. I'm not an Icon member, but I did there presale for RIT and it was a crock just like this one looks like it's a crock...they really need to PULL IT TOGETHER!!!

  4. i agree with you, this woman is in need of a serious reality check, and with this new deal over "scalped tickets: is effen DISGUSTING on her behalf, like her or not Mariah is much better to her fans than we as madonna fans could ever hope Madonna to be to us,,,this show like her others,,is gonna be all about her and not us,,,shitty songs,no encore.,no fun! EFF her,,,she can take her "sticky" tkts and ram them up her "sweet" A$$!!! ;)

Not to be rude but there are plenty of 80's has been acts out there touring this summer who play nothing but their 80's hits. Check out Poison...I'm sure Journey is touring again.....oh yeah, Motley Crue is on the road again too, perhaps you can get your nostalgia kicks from them. Madonna hasn't reached that point yet (thank God). She doesn't NEED to rely on her 80's hits to sell her shows out....check back in 20 years.

Was 4M on some syndicated show only played on urban stations? Or perhaps little David called some of his favorite stations and requested 4M as a Mother's Day present. Either way, let's hope it happens again next Sunday! ;D

    :lmao:

That's exactly what happened I think because that Richmond station that is listed hasn't played a new Madonna song in AGES! I think the last time they played her was some Human Nature mix...I think it may have had a rapper (??) Anyways, being from Richmond that shocked the hell out of me to see they played it. It DOES look like some syndicated show played the song because I highly doubt WCDX would willingly put Madonna on their playlist. Gwen's Hollaback Girl was at the very end of it's run before they spun it...so....

  6. Obviously if a policy like this was put into place then there would be notices about it on Ticketmaster's website at the time the tickets were purchased and it just means people planning on buying these tickets as a gift for someone else need to come up with a different strategy. A big change in ticket policy like this would not suddenly be sprung on the public with no notice and with no warnings at time of purchase.

The reason you may not see this happening is because Ticketmaster and or the individual performance venues WANT scalpers to have tickets because they are the ones providing them and getting a likely kick-back as a result.

I am pretty positive M has nothing to do with scalpers getting their hands on tickets and I'm not accusing her of that in any way. My beef with her is that she isn't trying to do anything to stop the scalping and is just going along for the ride and trying to profit from it.

I hear you. It's just a damn shame we have to deal with any of this anyways. Aside from this new thing, it's always been tough getting good seats through ticketmaster and obviously it's because scalpers are buying the tickets up before the real fans can...what's even worse is now knowing that ticketmaster themselves promotes this. I see where you are coming from too. Scalpers suck! And they should be stopped. But that's kind of like stopping the war on terrorism or stopping file sharing. MAYBE not impossible, but it's going to be one hell of a daunting task. Idealistically it would be great to see Madonna on "our side" but I can't say that I wouldn't do the same thing if I were her. She's probably taking the "why bother" stance on the situation but I certainly hope she's not helping them out in any way. From my understanding, she's just taking advantage of things that are already and have been happening forever now. IF I find out otherwise I may have to "hop the fence" quickly on this issue because that would just be WRONG and she would truly be a GREEDY BITCH!! But I don't think that's the case. She's making the best of a bad situation as far as I can see.

  7. I WANT A CAT WALK DAMNIT!!!

Not that I thought there would be one, she usually doesn't do the exact same stage twice in a row. It seemed like the stage at Roseland (and those who were there can correct me if I'm wrong) went out a little further than a typical stage, so hopefully it will be like that but for an arena and stadium sized venue. So people are kind of around the stage almost (if that makes sense) as opposed to just in front of it ala: DWT. Hopefully we can at least get a pit or something akin to it!!

  8. yeah that article is just to make negative buzz.

Exactly. This man obviously has a bias against her already. He's already said the show can't be good and rehearsals haven't even began for the effing tour. I'm sure he's one of the ones who said she be out of the business in 6 months back in '85. He says she needs to admit she's a has been but in the same article admits her new album is flying up the charts. Well Bob, one isn't a has been when their past 4 albums have went to number one, one isn't a has been when their last album was the biggest (or second biggest) selling album in the world the year it came out. One isn't a has been when they have just scored their biggest radio hit in 7 years....but between all of that STILL had legitimate hit songs in the US and the rest of the world.

I'm gonna say it before someone else does.....Mimi paid him to do it!! lol :demonic:

    j/k

Seriously though, this is just a shoddy article that as a couple of you have pointed out was written for the sole purpose of creating negative buzz. Next week when the mad frenzy to get tickets begins this article will barely be a blip on the radar. I'm sure he'll then work on the article that says she only sold out because of "publicity stunts".....ie: negative critics of CT that said people were going because of the "cross scene"......yet when those shows sold out nobody even knew a damn thing about the show.

  9. I do think it will help to steady sales, so HC shouldn't free fall down the charts ie: AL. But 2x platinum seems like a high estimate at this point. I think it may not equal COADF sales....which were damn good all things considered but I do think it will have a similar chart run to COADF. I think 1-1.2 when all is said and done...hopefully!

  10. The POINT is that scalping tickets is an unfair and (in some places) illegal practice. No one should be making a profit of the concert except for M, Live Nation, and Ticketmaster in the first place. She could just have easily stood up to these sleazebags and forced a requirement of id checks at the venue, meaning that the ticket purchaser had to be one of the people attending the show. I mean Ticketmaster does that when tickets are lost in the mail. Yes, it would mean that everyone would have to go the box office to pick up their tickets, meaning long lines at day of show, but if people are warned in advance they would plan enough time and the fact that it would be a plan to eliminate scalping most people would cheer on.

Eliminating scalpers from the equation would mean that FANS would get better access to the best seats at the PRICE THEY WERE MEANT TO BE SOLD AT. I mean it's the die-hard fans and the scalpers who are the ones clogging up the phone lines and internet trying to get tickets on day one, so if it was just fans clamoring for tickets it's almost a guarantee that all the best seats would be booked up by those fans, meaning that M would have all the people who REALLY SUPPORT HER right in front of her.

But no, instead of trying to stop scalping and make it easier for her fans to get their hands on the best seats, she decides to go the opposite route and gets into bed with these greedy bastards so she can try to make even more money. Because let's remember here. M has already made money on those tickets that the scalpers are selling. She's making the designated money that any ticket has sold for to the general public. Now she just wants to make MORE on top of that.

And if she really wanted to "test the waters" to use the scalpers to see how much money she could really get for certain seats then she could just as easily have gone the auction route like Ticketmaster has been doing for plenty of recent concerts. Certain top seats are set aside and auctioned off, so basically the general public bids on them and THEY DECIDE how much those seats are worth, as opposed to scalpers who immediately mark seats up by 300% and price most fans right out of the market.

The other side of the scalper issue is that when they are unable to sell their tickets many seats wind up going empty. These are seats that COULD HAVE been sold at regular prices and bought by fans who could afford to save up $300-400 for a ticket but not $2000.

I mean it truly boggles the mind that people are defending her on this especially when other bands out there have been trying to fight the scalpers for years and have tried to develop strategies to outmaneuver them and make sure the FANS get the best tickets. I mean why would bands go to all that trouble to keep scalpers out if they didn't think what they were doing was a bad thing for fans and for the industry as a whole?????

The scalpers will always win. They will just come up with shadier and craftier ways of doing what they do. Another thing, presenting ID's at the show as you suggested sounds great. But what about someone who may have receieved the tickets as a gift from a friend, boyfriend, relative who is far away and cannot attend the show? So you have your legit ticket in hand you just can't present the credit card used to pay for it because it wasn't your card. That person is 3,000 miles away. Then they treat you as if YOU are doing something illegal when you have a perfectly legit ticket in your hand. That would piss me off even more I think.

  11. she IS a cold-hearted and money hungry bitch

    has always been!!!!!!!:

    material-thumb.jpg

    and will always be!!!!!!!:

    news_mdolla.jpg

You are absolutely correct! It's just that right now it's being thrown in our faces once again. Remember how it was OUTRAGEOUS to pay $50 for a BOOK of her sexual fantasies? Or how greedy she was for charging $250-$300 for her first tour in 8 years AND the bitch ONLY sang 2 oldies and acted as if the show would've went on the same had the crowd been sitting there or not....I can't tell you how many people I heard bitching about that leaving the DWT. I don't for one second believe Madonna's ONLY goal is to make money. It's A BIG GOAL for her....no doubt. But I truly believe she does have artistic integrity and I still believe she's touring because she's trying to convey whatever messages it is that she's trying to spread right now and she genuinely loves performing her work and getting those messages across and just having fun on stage being "MADONNA the performer". But anybody coming in here thinking Madonna's number one priority is her fans is in for a rude awakening....it's NEVER been that way. Madonna's number one cause has always been what will benefit Madonna the best, ESPECIALLY in her business decisions. It's just been in recent years we get "thank you's" in speeches and things. It was not uncommon for her to tell people to "fuck off and get a life" that would address her presence in the streets over the years. It's odd all the reasons she pisses me off at times are REALLY all the reasons I love her at the same time. And Carta I totally get where you are coming from when you said you try to look for the best in every person/situation in your post, I think more people in the world should do the same, it would be a better place. Blind idealism? Sometimes maybe....but it's better than refusing to see any good or refusing to see the other persons point of view because of your own cynicism.

I swear when this era is done this WILL go down as one of the (if not the) most dramatic in history for us fans....lol :dramatic:

It's just been one thing after another!! Hopefully we'll all be getting our great seats we want at face value prices and shaking our asses together at some of these shows, watching our queen grace the stage with her best show yet!! :)

  12. I disagree with you even people with alot of money are not going to dish out more than $5,000 per ticket for Madonna.

I'm not so sure about that. The most expensive CT ticket sold was close to $4,000 for front row. So you just never know. $10,000 for someone who makes millions a year is NOTHING. But if they didn't sell them that would be fine. At that point the tickets go back to ticketmaster days before the show and magically the show you've been searching for tickets for for weeks that has been "sold out", suddenly has Floor seats available for you at face value. Haven't you ever noticed that shows will be "sold out" almost immediately and then 2 days before the show all of a sudden all of these great seats suddenly pop up?

PBG I don't see that happening in the near future with her ticket sales. I wouldn't be surprised if next tour the best seat are $500, but 1-2,000....no way.

  13. Might as well put a porn tape out with her and Guy, lots of money to be made in that. or maybe her giving a BJ to Justin, i think she might make billions, since the defense here is she will do anything to make CASH.

She signed a deal with scalpers, shes ripping off her fans.

I don't plan on paying more than face value for a ticket, I don't think most here are. The fans she's "ripping off" are the fans who would've gladly paid those prices ANYWAYS because they CAN! Money speaks, the more fortunate ones can avoid the hassle of dealing with ticketmaster and rabid fans vying for the best seats and just pay the crazy prices and have their tickets and be happy. I don't think ANYBODY here is going to turn to StubHub if they can't get a decent seat through ticketmaster and pay those atronomical prices. Again, this is nothing different, she's just making money this time whereas before she wasn't. Is it more fair for the scalpers to make all of this extra money or should the actual artist who is investing the time and energy into the show get a share of it? Unless she (or any artist) finds a way to completely STOP scalpers altogether then it's something fans and artists have to live with and make the best of.

Like I said if we all come back empty handed or all of us here who plan on using the "traditional" ticket buying method come back with a bunch of crappy seats after tickets officially go on sale THEN we can REVOLT. Until then though, when you really look at it this is nothing different at all than what has been going on for years. I would do the same thing if I were in her shoes. Say if she were to join forces with PJ and NIN to try to stop scalpers....it doesn't do anything. It encourages the scalpers to find craftier ways of doing what they are going to do anyways. Kind of like when Metallica sued Napster....sure they had it shut down. But then 100 more file sharing services just like it (or even better) popped up. So what did it accomplish? NADA.

  14. It seems to me like the Live Nation deal itself, which a lot of people didn't understand either this is just something she's ahead of the curve on. Remember the shares sold after LN announced their Madonna deal?? People just aren't understanding it yet. Once the dust settles and we see how it works, things will calm down.

Madonna was never going to pull a "Pearl Jam" or "Nine Inch Nails" type thing though with her fans....that's just not her, never has been and never will be. She's ALWAYS been about making as much money as possible, let's face it. With that said, I don't think she would take her fans for fools and rip us off so blatantly like some are suggesting.

  15. But again, this already exists before Madonna & Live Nation made a deal with Stubhub. These ticketbrokers get their prime tickets from Ticketmaster, not the artist or the promoter. It's Ticketmaster who is to blame for this. And these ticketbrokers will sell their tickets through every avenue available. Through their own websites, through Stubhub or even Ebay. But now that Madonna & Live Nation have annointed Stubhub as the official reseller of Madonna tickets, for protection and reliability, most buyers will now go to Stubhub. Again, neither Stubhub, Madonna or Live Nation are the sellers. Stubhub is just a place where buyers and sellers meet and Stubhub charges a commission for every sale and the commission is in turn shared by Stubhub, Madonna & Live Nation.

Thank you for your insight on this matter. The "ray of light" amongst the dark clouds if you will...lol. I like many felt like I was going to jump out of my skin in anger after reading the very first posts of this thread but it's all coming together and it makes sense now. Now, if May 19th (or whenever tickets go on sale for the venue you are trying to get in) and we all are empty handed or all of us have to deal with crappy seats via ticketmaster THEN we should REVOLT!!! lol Until then though, it looks as though nothing is different than it has ever been for the fans.
