This person doesn't like HU....ok fine...you said, get over it. Why state it in every other thread? I can think of a certain poster who I've read their disdain for HU on this tour in about 10 different threads....seriously....probably more than that.
Some people don't like ROL. OK.....we heard it, the dancers have heard it....hell, Madonna MAY have heard it at this point. Obviously, she doesn't care so....move on with life (that's not neccesarily directed at you CS....just in general.)

didnt like the RIT version of LAP.
I wasn't crazy about the RIT version either, although I can see how others enjoyed the sort of understated treatment it received. For me though LAP deserves a big, GRAND performance with lots of things going on and from the looks of it that's what we are getting this time!
Cannot wait to see this one in the flesh!!

Oh and the boots Madonna wears are complete ripoff of dominatrix porn I watched. The cowboy hat is so John Wayne and the shade of lipstick is so Marilyn or Jayne or maybe Mariah....hell maybe Nelly Furtado too....I don't know. Plus strapping the effing guitar to herself every five seconds is soooooooo Courtney Love.
I just wish Madonna would bring back the cones and "I Dream Of Jeannie" ponytail and be completely original like 1990. Or even the haircut from GS I had NEVER seen a woman with hair like that before her....even though she still wore those damn dominatrix boots from that porn for that tour too. Oh well....

sorry, should have clarified. the article says indeed that she showed up at the airport in her bathrobe. supposedly it says "Dancing Queen" on the back. the photo with wet hair is her on the way to soundcheck.

@ Brisy BoyI'm just curious how the ones who decided not to buy HC determined that they weren't going to buy it. Did they *GASPS* download the songs for FREE and dislike them and delete them??
Go to a store and listen to the entire CD? Or just sample 30 sec itunes snippets?? I don't see how diehard fans not purchase a studio album (or even a compilation for that matter). I guess it's because I'm such a completist though. I remember picking up GHV2 knowing damn good and well I would never listen to it because I already have all the songs. And of course I never do.....but I have to have it!! lol
Personally at this point I would stop buying her albums only if she made 2 or 3 in a row that I just didn't like at all.

I demand a replica of the performance of the classic song Soda Pop that Britney Spears did on her groundbreaking ....Baby One More Time Tour back in 1999 on Madonna's next tour!! And I'm still mad Brit Brit never performed the stellar E-mail My Heart, Madonna needs to do that one too. EXACTLY as Britney would've done in '99 had it been on the setlist of her classic tour.....no guitar. Just blue jeans, a halter top and pig tails please.
Would be nice if she made Lourdes and Rocco the back up dancers for that one too....would give it some much needed flair.

We bitch about everything she does, we are always complaining. Few years from now she wont be doing these shows and making pop records anymore then it will all be a history and we will miss these days. Enjoy her as much as we can
She is 50 , got 3 kids and just been through a horrible time (A-rod shit, divorce rumors , Chris book and etc) Im amazed how she managed to pull it off and didnt have a breakdown because back in june it didnt look like she will be able to kick off this tour the way things were going. She didnt start rehearsing before late june.

Yep. Madonna fans at this point are the equivalent to the kid "born with a silver spoon in their mouth". I understand everybody is entitled to their opinion on things and all that B.S. but it's pretty lame when people bitch about ONE song that is similar to another tour or the fact that she uses screens in her show. Pretty tedious IMO. Unless those factors completely ruined your concert experience......which would just be kind of odd to me. But whatever.
I agree with everything you said. It has been a crazy summer for M and despite everything, like always she's the consummate professional.

Ok...I feel really slow. Until I read that last review I didn't realize that those were the guys dressed up in the Vogue performance. I found it odd though when looking at the pics and videos of that performance that I was strangely attracted to the ass of females. I can now sleep better tonight knowing that it is indeed man ass that I was salivating over....thank God!!

I'm just glad to see her dancing again. REAL dancing, not yoga and posing.
I'm not one of the ones who's had issues with her dancing on the past couple of tours, but I have to say I'm loving how she's bringing back some more aggressive, conventional dancing ala BA with this tour. Truly, I don't think she's danced this hard since that tour.

After downloading all the mp3's from this show, this is the one I keep revisiting over and over. I absolutely adore this version of Borderline and I'm still shocked at how "into it" she sounds. Even on the VT she kind of butchered it by only singing half the verses, but this one she even does the "da da's" at the end.....heavenly!!
Since this song has been ignored for so long I kind of got the impression Madonna doesn't really care for it too much anymore. SOOOO glad she has decided to revisit this one!!The beginning riffs of this version for some reason reminds of the beginning riffs of the song (Take Me) I Want You from the Gotham tapes. I'm sure that is in my head only though.

What is there to debate really? Regardless of who one thinks is better than the other the fact of the matter is Kylie is basically a 2 hit wonder (3 if you want to be REALLY generous) in the biggest music market in the world. That in itself eliminates Kylie from being Madonna's "competition", I don't know what fantasy world "Al-Kylieda" (LOL) are living in. Not trying to sound like a snobby American or trying to imply it's THE most important music market in the world but it is the biggest and the fact that Madonna has been consistent in her success in the WHOLE world while Kylie couldn't even sell out a tour of state fairs in the US if she wanted to is pretty self explanatory when trying to pit these two against one another.
The fact that we are discussing Madonna's Vogue costume vs. Kylie's Vogue costume is actually telling in itself on who is influenced by who.

I haven't seen the show yet, just the crappy youtube clip of the "get stupid" video and that's how I interpreted it as well. I think people are reading waaaaay too much into this. McCain's camp just sees an opportunity for free publicity in the same way he used Paris and Britney. Nearly two months shy of election day and THIS is what his people are releasing press statements about? When the man who wants to become president of the most powerful country in the world yet he doesn't even fully understand foreign policy, I'd say he has "bigger fish to fry" than his face being shown for 2 seconds in a video at a Madonna concert.

Oh yeah!! At this point, having not seen the S&S version live yet...just the crappy youtube clips (WHICH I'm very thankful for btw!! lol) I can say the BA version is my favorite. Especially following LAV and starting with "God" as she's sort of writhing off the bed!!
And yes I love how dark and haunting the whole performance is. That whole section of that show just gives me an eerie vibe, always has. And that's a good thing!
For those who have seen LAP on S&S live, would you call it "dark and haunting" or is it a bit "lighter"??
I love my LAP with a dark vibe, which is why I don't think the RIT did it for me personally. It was just too "gung-ho" for me. "This is the no sitting down song." lol....with her bopping across the stage happily.
