  1. I think she had to rush MDNA though because she signed with LiveNation and hadn't done anything because of WE. She's spent a lot more time making this album, and I think she's done a great job teasing up via social media.

    Completly agree!

WE eat up 3years of a 10-year contract so an album was needed in quick succession!

That said, Madonna herself it seems has put her ideas of directing a second film on the back burner to dedicate herself back to the music!

She said a few times after the MDNA tour that she was going to make another film but she's choosen not too and instead has been piecing together the new album all year.

  2. Im talking about, rcently MDNABRAZUKA, not in 19 FUCKING 98!

And Believe at 11 million sold was,Chers biggest, selling album

    Madonna has

    TIC 30 mil

    TB 25 mil

    LAV 21 mil

    Rol 16 to 20 mil

    Get the picture?

Before her brief comeback with Believe, Chers career was as dead as a corpse, reduced to doing infomercials

And then she had her ONE big hit comeback song and album.

Madonna has always, more or less been on top since 1984

Hell Madonna was the 3rd top selling, music, artist of the 2000s decade worldwide.

    Amazing longevity

Cher, who has been around since the 60s, has NEVER had a decade where she ranked among the best selling acts

Madonna, has ranked among the top 5 biggest selling artists worldwide FOR THREE CONSECUTIVE DECADES.

    You cant compare the two

I adore cher but I completely agree with this post!

"Believe" was a very lucky fluke for Cher indeed, she has totally disappeared and then reappeared like so many others....

Madonna has remained A-list for 30years and is always in the public eye.

    Back the album...

I think we WILL get a new single this fall, not convinced on the album though.

  3. I think there are all kinds of comebacks, big and small, creative and commercial. Bedtime Stories was technically M's first "comeback" album, as it followed Erotica, which performed less successfully than previous albums and was part of her media "backlash." One could say that "I'll Remember" was the real comeback though, as it was her most successful single in the U.S. in years.

Ray Of Light was another kind of comeback. Even though BS put her back on top with TAB, etc., it was her first album in almost four years and many had written her off as past her prime (creatively and commercially), even fans. She reinvented herself and made a "comeback" with her biggest sales since TIC, a new sound, and nominations like Album of the Year.

You could call COADF a small comeback following AL. 4M was a big comeback on U.S. radio - her biggest radio hit since the Music era. I would definitely not call MDNA a comeback though. The new album could be if she has a big hit or it's highly praised by both fans/critics.

Madonnas consistently been on the music/public consciousness since 1983.

Unlike many of her contempories, she's never really been away, and her success has been maintained commercially and critically, obviously she HAD had her "hayday" 1983-1990 was undoubtedly her golden years that established her as legend, and that 8-year hiatus is STILL way more culturally and commercially golden than any of the divas that have come after her!

The ONLY real "comeback" I would say she's wet really had was Ray Of Light in 1998.

She ended the 90s BACK on a commercial high that she hadn't really seen since she left the 80s but that's only commercial.

That album was seen then, and still today as her best ever, and came at a time when she was in her 15th year of recording, turning 40 and it was her biggest musical re-invention, she turned herself Completly from in many peoples eye (critics, general public and some fans) as the "once queen of pop" into a current pop star again....she was winning "best female" awards in catagories with pop stars half her age!

I don't see the new album as a "comeback" it's just a resurgence as MDNA was luke-warm....critically as commercially.

  4. Some reflection on the up and coming Creative Elements...

She's been on holiday with Mert and Macus so can we safely assume there on board for artwork

    Again?

I liked MDNAartwork, but the booklet was fairly throw away....although the GGW video was epic....very high gloss but is that the feeling she wants to create with the link to artforfreedom?

Music video director.....I personally hope she chooses someone who does film aswell photography.

We need another impact classic video moment so I hope she puts a lot of time into it!

I know Rolling Stone isn't what it used to be BUT another cover....it's high time the first female of rolling stone had a new spread!

Live performance....IF timings are in place a premier at the EMAs would be perfect a la Hung Up for the start of the confessions era!

  5. Billboard also said the album will be out in the Fall.

My bet is that she will be working on the visual aspect of the album now but I guess we will see.

Obviously if she's back in the studio soon then we probably won't get anything until next year. Which will suck

I don't trust billboard one bit hehe!

That said, the fact she's taken an extended holiday would seem to suggest the recording was over.....but that's not the feeling in the Diplo interview PLUS there's not a lot of info coming out on anything "finished".

Time will tell, we shall see if she visits a studio in the next few weeks....

  6. To anyone who says that the interview is 2 months old, it obviously happened after their recording session in London, which took place at the end of July. So the interview is no more than 3 weeks old and Madonna hasn't done anything since she went to France early August, so I believe those songs he is talking about are still not finished, but who knows

This will go one of two ways....

Either she took a vacation break before going back to the studio to finish the album this fall, which would meen a similar pattern to MDNA....

Release early 2015. Tour summer 2015.

    OR

Whilst she's been on vacation the album has been mixed and finalised, and she's now preparing all the creative stuff gearing up for a release this fall.

  7. When all said and done I simply think Madonna was far more excited and into the MDNAtour than she ever was with the MDNAalbum.

And to go a little bit further she was also more into "WE" than the album aswell....but I digress.

    This time it IS different.

She's decided to make an album that's linked to her artforfreedom project, something she is far more "into" and fully inspired by.

So I smell much more of an era and the album will not just be a necassary to tour.

  8. Album released in November and tour by March 2015...so no promotion.

Madonna won't promote the album for more than a month anyways!

Just look at her last 2 albums....

It gives her enough time to release 2 music videos/singles, some promo tour dates, TV, magazine shoots and interviews before Christmas.

But there still WILL be time to promote with a Novemeber release and a tour starting in spring next year.

  9. And if she releases the new album in November and immediately begins the rehearsals right after, considering that the tour will probably star in May/Juny of 2015.

She wouldn't have time again to promote the album.

I think this time table will happen.

    Album in novemeber with promo....

Then the tour will be announced, probebly just after the album, but I can see tickets on sale for it by Christmas.

I think the tour will begin in March 2015.

  10. Well if there was EVER a "right" time for Madonna to finally appear on the xfactor with a performance.....it's NOW.

Especially in he U.K were her music career has been Completly "safe" since day one.

MDNA was the first time she didn't put a song in our top ten....or top twenty for that matter!

The exposure would mean everything now....I really hope to see her performing the albums lead this fall.

  11. Artforfreedom ends on September 30th.

The recording has been done, mixing is in place.

Madonna is enjoying a long holiday away from work.

Everything points to a November album release with the first single dropping September/October.

I think the "creative" period will start as soon as she's celebrated her birthday.

I expect an "official" announcement of the lead single and album the first week of September.

  12. Artforfreedom, I believe, started around the first of September, another speculation is that because the album is tied to it, official dates will begin sooner than we think. Maybe? I wish.

The "link" to the album will be interesting...

It's a site used to showcase artwork symbolising freedom.

Nothing to do with Madonna as a pop star.

At first I thought maybe it would be used to premier songs or the album on some way....but she has her own website to do that with?

Maybe the albums an inspiration for it, using the concept.....will be interesting too see how it unfolds.

  13. There are so many other great talented directors, like David Wilson for example, Check out his videos for 'Arcade Fire - We Exist' or 'Hercules & Love Affiar - I Try To Talk To You'. I hope she works with a fresh new talent for the first video.

    http://thisisdavidwilson.com/promos

Klein needs to take several seats for a couple of years, his dark and grim style is getting boring and depressing.

I adore the dark style and would love this for the new album!

Artforfreedom ends this month I think?

  14. If artforfreedom is the inspiration for the new album, then please can tht amazing visual film we got treated too for it be a starting point with the visuals for this era....

I hope and pray she chooses Klien as director, or someone else who is a photographer again to create an epic music video!

Thought will quickly turn to the clip.....I'm voting for Klien.....there work together has alwas impressed, the visuals for her tours, photoshoots....it's modern Madonna whilst always retaining an "iconic" feel.

Please Madonna hire him to direct!

  15. I like the idea of her promoting the new single and album with a major performance like this, but at the same time I've always been proud of Madonna for not having performed ever on American Idol, X-factor, or been a judge on one of these shitty talent shows.

It's a catch-22. Would love to see her promote but I'd rather not see her sell her soul to do it.

She would never ever be judge.

She wouldn't need to "sing with a contestant"...

She needs to use it to her advatage, tune in and debut we new material!
