Ai Papi Si.
If this all goes a lot milder than feared then GOOD! I sure as fuck don't want it to ignite 2008 all over again.
Guest bluejean
It has definitely been sensationalized. Not to deny the impact on the world but its been talked about like its Armageddon. Words like "mayhem" being thrown around in news reports is undeniably ott.
Ai Papi Si.
The US media is in overdrive with the analysis, but surprisingly hasn't gone crazy with the melodrama. The covers of all the UK papers/tabloids and the clips I've seen from their side has definitely been crazy though. I say this not to insult, but the UK truly have the most poisonous tabloids I've ever seen. They make the NY Post and the NY Daily News look like bedtime stories. It will make the original Brexit thread a very interesting snapshot though if that IS the case.

Ai Papi Si.
You sound hopeful. In all honesty I really don't think this is going to be like 2008. I really do not. That's a gut feeling but my feeling nonetheless. I'm just keeping tabs on it, independent of the media spasms. Just like I followed the 2013 US government shutdown which was terrifying in that it flirted with total catastrophe, and that wound up being a nothingburger. But for a moment it got real. Same with this, it just deserves to be taken seriously cuz it is serious! You can't say it's not a big deal, right?
Guest Rachelle of London
Sometimes all you have is hope to cling to. There's still so much uncertainty and that's the biggest issue. billiejean
They're wedded to nostalgic ideals of the past. Sometimes they vote catastrophically. We've seen that here. So stupid may not be the word, but ignorant and stubborn might be. They were a part of England before E.U. during and now after (whenever that will be). I HATE the ageism. Its fucking dreadful. Older people who have lived, bought, worked and seen the economy go up and down through various decades know experience. They aren't just old white racists wanting foreigners out, many old people are foreigners too. Blacks, Asians, Irish. Twitter youth acts like Immigrants are new. billiejean
Liberal. Hah. A liberal sprinkle of hatred and complete intolerance. This is the true poison of this world. Intolerance. Look at people trying to redefine democracy, discrediting the view of older people and making very hateful and judgemental remarks about people they haven't met. I have one thing to say to them. BAHHHHHHHH I have to agree with you. Cher is being made to change her mind by people on Twitter hounding her and that's not democracy. People are allowed their own personal vote, whether it's right or wrong, or misguided or whether it's for the best. None of us know the true future. She's allowed to agree with who she wants. It is the most racially diverse city in the UK. The white people there are the minority. People blaming old white people for this hilarious. Old white people are not 51% of the population. People fail to understand that these people have every right to their own political view as they want. Even if we disagree. Same with this, it just deserves to be taken seriously cuz it is serious! You can't say it's not a big deal, right? In all honesty I think the media sells mole hills as mountains. We live in a sensationalist world today. Marilyn Monroe died with VERY LITTLE press attention. Kim Kardashian dyes her hair and you can't go anywhere without hearing about it. That's why I really liked what Sky Ferreira said. She basically exposed that her record label wanted her to be an extreme caricature in order to shift records. If Madonna released everybody today people would probably find her too middle of the road. You can see it all around you. When did you last read about a religious person going about their day, doing charity work or achieving an award? You won't. You'll hear about religious people who are cuckoo or terrorists. You won't hear about anything that doesn't either strike fear into you or make you feel safe. So all of our feelings and thoughts are being manipulated by these people. The reason Madonna got into music is because she had something to say and wanted to be heard. Madonna will probably be seen as extreme but if you examine her work she is actually very clever when balancing her projects. Her albums are so full and not tiresome because of it. I AM PRO MODERATION. Yes you think that's boring because you've been told it's boring but fuq dat shit. MODERAAAAAAAATTTTTION.

I know I sound poetic, but growing up in a jungle called the Middle East you learn that the only thing that keeps people from strangling each other is hope. The lack of it only serves those who profit from it- and they're NOT your friends. I think history will judge this move. We can't ignore the fact that it was a significant one. Good luck to all. The media/social media justice warriors are telling us that it's racist white octogenarians voting to leave. Reality is the votes come from people of every creed, age, colour and aspiration. I think it's sad that people of age are being discussed as ignorant. It sickens me actually.
Guest bluejean
More celebrities should share their political views. Most don't because theyeither a) don't really have a strong point of view to begin with or b) are more concerned about popularity.

In this country being an ethnic minority doesn't automatically make you liberal. There are a lot of conservative young and ethnic people. More older people vote as well. One general election some MP got in trouble for arranging a coach from nursing homes to the polling stations in his constituencies Also Birmingham has the highest concentration of small businesses, this is also a factor into why they probably voted to leave.
