  1. The second segment being the most theatrical stopped after DWT. For MDNA Tour for example it was the first section.

I think this time around the second segment is a Travolta/Elvis homage of sorts with the 1950s concept of "can't help falling in love" etc presented in the Madonna way of course.

I don't think Burning Up is random there, after all it was the earliest incarnation of the "Bitch I'm Madonna" theme, wasn't it? "Unlike the others I'd do anything"...

I hadn't thought of that, but that makes some sense. Still, it feels musically out of step with the rest of the opening set. I wouldn't mind it being dropped from the set -- especially if she's adding other songs elsewhere, like she did "Ghosttown" in Brooklyn.

  2. Good God this is perfect :inlove:

"True Blue" on the ukulele is one of her greatest reinventions ever. Seriously, it's up there with BA "LAV" and CT "Erotica." Just an incredible, powerful, heartfelt performance that has breathed new life into a song that so many had forgotten about. I cried when I saw it on Periscope opening night and I've teared up watching it on YouTube several times since -- and I wasn't even a big fan of the song before this tour.

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS TOUR THIS WEEKEND.

  3. Love this album. Singles should've gone like this;

    1. Music.

    2. Don't Tell Me.

    3. Gone.

    4. Amazing.

    NOPE

The singles choices -- as Madonna wanted them -- were perfect.

    1. Music
    2. Don't Tell Me
    3. What it Feels like for a Girl
    4. Impressive Instant

Though I'd gladly have taken "Gone" as a fifth and final single. Imagine the video :wow::wow::wow:

  4. My favorite album of all time.

    Every track is a masterpiece.

I still can't believe that we never got a fourth single -- let alone a fifth or sixth. Somewhere there is a world where "Impressive Instant," "Gone" and "Paradise" all got the single releases they deserved.

  5. I've been kind of avoiding the forums since the tour kicked off because I don't have the time to sit down and actually enjoy the videos and pictures and all that jazz while at work, especially since youtube is blocked and most photosharing website. I want to save it all for the weekend.

Anyway, 2 days in and all I can find are a bunch of complaints.

I saw her sing La Vie en Rose. I had never, ever seen her so happy, so relaxed, so full of life and sound so incredible.

I'm really disappointed with some of you guys. I'm gonna step away from the thread for a bit so I don't let that impressionable side of me ruin this experience for me, too.

    What?

Are you referring to specific thread somewhere? Maybe I'm still high from that incredible live periscope of opening night and the epic thread we had going for it, but it seems like the reaction here has been overwhelmingly positive.

Nothing can make everyone happy, and there's no reason to expect that -- but it seems like the reaction to this tour on this forum seems like it's running 10 or 20 to 1 -- just hugely in favor. Maybe I'm just so excited that I have GIGANTIC blinders on, but it seems like people here are hugely excited.

I'm this close to declaring it her best tour since DWT.

  6. I've noticed her big fans and younger fans love holy water & vogue but i don't like it.. i mean, i don't hate it, but i think we have very different kinds of fans. those who like MDNA and those who like RIT, to put it in a simple way.

and there are a lot of performances that you can practice. bitch im madonna, LFL, deeper & deeper, ..

i think from watching the teasers a lot of fans expected mdna part 2. i just miss the drums. that would've been great. but im not actually into gimmicks like dancing nuns.. while other fans love that.

I'd be curious to hear how you "big fans and younger fans" agree on stuff. I tend to think of "big fans" as the people who've been around for a while, the ones with collections who shell big money for floor seats -- and most young fans aren't that.

  7. Going to upgrade to VIP seats for Boston, and looking to sell two floor tickets that I already have.

    TD Garden, Boston, MA
    Sat, 09/26/2015, 8:00 PM EDT

    Floor F | Row: 5 | Seats: 13, 14
Selling at face value ($382.50 / each).
    Looking to sell ASAP.
  8. I'm stupid I love True Blue so much I cried. I loved that song so much as a kid and this is like a present. I know it sounds stupid but I feel it that way

I cried when "True Blue" came on Periscope last night. Incredible moment. So happy I got to see it "live."

I've watched "True Blue" and "Who's that Girl" probably two dozens times each today. I never thought I'd see her do these songs again :inlove:

  9. Well sorry to rain on everyone's (negativity & moaning parade) but based on these clips alone I already declare this tour better than Reinvention, Sticky, Who's That Girl, Virgin and possibly Confessions.

    So yeah. I said that.

Gotta see in person first (just a few weeks ...), but I might agree with this :wow:

Definitely better than MDNA -- but I seem to be the only one around these parts who didn't care for that one. *prepares for stoning*

  10. There's nothing "scaled back" about this tour. Its scale is enormous -- the stage looks to be the biggest of any production she's done, the screens are huge and integrated into the show much the way MDNA's were (just rewatch the opening number), there are more dancers and props than ever before ... What exactly is smaller here?

It seems that people think "scaled back" means there's no 10-minute highly-choreographed, all-hands-on-deck dance breakdown a la "Celebration" in MDNA or "GI2M" in Sticky -- or perhaps that it's more interactive with the audience instead of having Madonna act as if she's playing a part on stage. But shows don't need either of those things to have scale. Further, shows don't need to have either in order to be good.

  11. "True Blue" and "Who's that Girl" were flawless, I think -- clear proof that less is often more.

They're just so powerful when stripped down, with the audience singing along -- I couldn't have asked for anything more. They're just perfect.

Also, was anyone else SHOCKED at the audience response to "WTG?"

Watch that clip -- she strums a bit of her guitar, sings the opening line and instantly the whole audience in crooning "whoooo's that giiirl?"

"WTG" is such a forgotten hit on Madonna's catalogue -- a friend once referred to it as "not 'La Isla Bonita,' but that other song where she sings Spanish" -- that I didn't think there'd be such an instant, powerful reaction from the audience. I was (and still am) just wowed by it.

  12. can we talk about music?

i love the intro sound thats repeating. not sure what it is. never heard it before. its so intriguing and lovely :) and madonna's BAT voice&playfulness @ the end is amazing :)

Ah! This was the one performance I missed on Periscope last night! Thank you so much! Incredible!

    I'm crying

I cried last night when she started this too. INSTANTLY one of my all-time favorite Madonna performances. Both "True Blue" and "Who's that Girl" became favorites of mine last night.

MY GOD LIKE A VIRGIN IS EVERYTHING!!!!

It's true there's less choreographed dancing for this tour, but look at her energy here! This woman is NOT slowing down.

YES. Fuck these bitches complaining about the lack of choreographed dance breaks. LOOK AT THIS BITCH. SHE IS HAVING THE TIME OF HER LIFE. The crowd is feeding off her energy and she's feeding off the crowd's energy. It's going to be INCREDIBLE to be there in person.

  13. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF MADONNANATION:

WHAT A FUCKING NIGHT. WHAT A FUCKING SHOW.

I never in million years would have guess that we'd be so blessed as to get a LIVE STREAM of opening night -- and from someone on the floor for most of it! This was incredible. What a way to spend the night. Thank you all for being here and celebrating this amazing night with me -- and thank you to the people who Periscoped this, even though there's no chance you're reading this.

And to the QUEEN herself: I'll see you Boston, bitch.
