  1. a show ending with Die Another Day... I just can't imagine the faces of the people leaving the stadium... it must be like a cold shower effect.

    but

I'd like to see SWIM live... fuck.

Well...people left MDNA Tour after Celebration...not that different i guess XD

  2. I voted for Live Earth.

BTW, when people talk about the Confessions era...i usually correct them for: "The Live 8/Live Earth" era...because Live 8 started what was probably the best time to be a Madonna fan last decade...and Live Earth ended that. We had:

    - Live 8 (rave reviews, one of the best if not the best performance that day, everyone was rooting for Madonna again, after the American Life era)

    - Hung Up comes out and blows everyone away, goes #1 everywhere (and #7 in the USA in a time when dance music was forbidden on radios and Madonna was "too old" to be played) and Madonna is the best thing ever again. Her catalog sales go up and it's cool to like her again, and everyone talks about her like it's the 80's. (at least in Europe). Her look is emulated by many celebrities, especially her hair and parkour is not an underground thing anymore.

    - Confessions On A Dancefloor comes out, hits #1 everywhere and sells almost as much as Music in Europe (yeah...even with the music industry weakening every year!) and sells more than 1.2 million WW on first week ALONE, ending with 1.7 million in the USA and 9 million WW.

    - Sorry hits #1 in Europe for 4 weeks, including countries like the UK and it's one of her most successful 2nd singles in years.

    - The Confessions Tour starts with great reviews, and ends up being one of her best tours ever and her top grossing tour (by then).

    - Get Together and Jump are moderate hits in Europe/South America...and especially Jump is a huge airplay hit almost everywhere.

    - The Confessions Tour is released in 2007, sells more than 1.2 million WW (huge for a live release) and it's probably the best Madonna tour DVD we have so far.

    - Live Earth happens and Madonna is again, one of the best that night.

What a GREAT time to be a Madonna fan!

  3. I wonder how much her Material Girl line makes her. It seems to be doing well.

We don't know...and neither do they...which is why she's not on the list probably.

Their lists are always so stupid.

Besides...they hated the fact she was so high last year...do you guys still remember how they dragged her on their articles like it was all a big luck she was there? they are always so negative towards her it's not even funny!

Of course they HAD to say this this year XD

  4. I've stopped reading this piece of ….when I've reached this "On the other hand, Madonna, despite her icon status, has been putting out mediocre records and not really adding anything of particular pertinence to the pop culture"…

In terms of albums? I agree with that.

It's not like Hard Candy and MDNA re-invented anything the way Ray Of Light, Music, etc did...

But overall? How can they say that? MDNA Tour alone proves that Madonna is still doing stuff no one else is doing. Compare that tour with Gaga's last one, or Katy or whatever...Madonna still makes all of them look like they are performing a cheap highshcool play all over the world!

  5. Someone posted this on Icon:

"Easter Sunday night at the Chateau Marmont.

She was hanging out with a bunch of guys including Mert and Marcus.

It was cool to overhear her talking. And sounding like just a regular person.

Near the end of the night she went up to one of the rooms and started playing music really loudly.

You could tell it was her voice singing, but I didn't recognize any of the songs.

I overheard someone from her group saying it was a new song called "Holy Water".

This sounds so fake xD LOL

Everyone could write that. We already knew about the rumored Holy Water song...and Mert and Marcus said 2 days ago they heard her album...the rest everyone could write. "I overheard someone from her group saying it was a new song called "Holy Water". lol...right

  6. Good to see people enjoying Hung Up from this tour now.

In 2008 it received a HUGE backlash from Madonna fans...it wasn't even funny. But in concerts people loved it!

Actually that last section was simply great. The crowds were always nuts everywhere. You can't go wrong with 4 Minutes/Like A Prayer/Ray Of Light/request Section and interaction with crowd/Hung Up/Give It 2 Me. It's just too perfect :D

It's something MDNA totally failed was the last section really...

  7. I just hope she doesn't do anything to her face.

    She looks perfect right now!

I remember how great she looked in 2009 and out of nowhere she looked plastic in 2010. I was horrified when she went to that Haiti concert to sing Like A Prayer XD

  8. Oh dear. There's really not much to say about Natalia Kills -she's the 'fetch' of the music industry -someone's been trying to make her 'happen' for years, with zero success. A Madonna collab is obviously the latest ploy. Madonna is SO above this.

Wait...so because someone doesn't achieve success automatically means it's wrong or bad or even cheap?

Natalia Kills is better then most pop crap out there, imo of course!

That's like saying Kerli is also crap just because she is not on any worldwide top, lol. Or Marina and The Diamonds who's only famous in the Uk and not much more...

  9. Come on, that's a stereotype lol. I'm sure a LOT of straight guys are fans, they just don't admit it most of the time. You don't sell out Yankee Stadium twice in a row if it's only for the gays.

I know that and i agree. I'm just saying that because most straight guys i know listen to rock music...and talk shit about all pop related, lol xD

And i'm actually one of those people who say Madonna is universal...she's a lot more then a gay act and we all know it, even if some people want to make it seem like Madonna would be a flop without the gays...we all know they are not the main audience at her shows...at least not the ones i saw. Entire families of all ages are there usually. The gays are on the golden circle usually ahah! :D

  10. Many of you saying older stuff...you're chosing great moments...but just if he enjoys the most recent stuff i guess.

I actually wrote an article for such an occasion. It's a countdown of Madonna's Top 20 moments in anticipation for the new album. It features YouTube clips for each moment and includes a mini-bio in there, too. I tried my best to cover her entire career, not just focus on the eighties. Here's the article:

    http://lgbteen.org/2014/03/top-20-madonna-moments/

Just saw that. Great choices! :)

I would show him the MDNA tour and also give him a Celebration DVD/CD pack to start with

The thing about MDNA tour is that i can almost see him falling asleep during after Vogue and waking up for Like A Prayer XD AHAH

And make sure you suck his cock. That should help

    We'll see about that! XD

    movie_31657.jpg

Now i wanna see that again! Haven't seen Truth Or Dare in years!

  11. MDNA Tour (I attended when I was 18)

    Confessions Tour

    Vogue S&S and Confessions tour

You know...Confessions tour might work as well! It IS my fav tour...

Damn you Madonna! You make this so hard XD Oh well...i'll have to think about this for 2 weeks still ahah!

You can keep sugesting and i'll tell you what he thought once i show it all.

At least i always love it when older fans tell experiences like this one.

  12. To everyone that's answering, thank you all :D i'm reading and love most sugestions :)

He has to be aware of SOME of Madonna's work, no?

Yeah...some more recent hits. i'm sure once he knows more he'll be like "OMG! THIS IS MADONNA?!" I showed Take A Bow to a friend a few days and she was like "what?! this is a madonna song?! i always loved it!" ahah xD

    Show him THIS:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtfYfxyziQE

It's not from a tour but there's no way he wouldn't love her after seeing this. PURE TALENT right there.

Yap...that right there is one of the things i feel like i should show! :D

One performance that I've shown to many either casual or non-fans is: Vogue, Sticky and Sweet.

They've ALL been super impressed with it. Then, to show them that she can also just sit there and sing, I show them: You Must Love, Sticky and Sweet.

Again, they're ALL left impressed and surprised by her talent and voice. It's ironic, though, since Sticky and Sweet is my least favorite of her tours. :-/

Also, I think that Frozen, live from either The Reinvention Tour or Drowned World Tour, would work really well.

From MDNA, I've shown off the whole Chearleading section with EY and GMAYL and, later, Like A Prayer and Celebration to GREAT effect. (I'm sorry, but, as much as we love it, I've noticed that the whole intro section of MDNA has left non-fans feeling cold and bewildered.)

Old-time tour performances to consider are: Oh Father/Live to Tell and Keep it Together from Blond Ambition; and Everybody from The Girlie Show.

As far as one-off TV performances go:

    1) a LOT of non-fans have been impressed with Express Yourself from the 1989 MTV Awards;

    2) as stated above, the 1991 Sooner or Later performance at the Oscars has left them in awe; and

    3) her performance of Bad Girl on Saturday Night Live in 1993 has wowed them, too.

    Hope this helps!

I really am thinking about showing S&S...it has hits, voice, evergy, dance, interation with the audience. It's like a bit of old + new.

And i do agree...MDNA is good...but he'd probably fall asleep during that 1st section...dunno though.

  13. and i have no idea what to show that could "hook" him to her...so i need your help.

He's actually opened to the idea of knowing her and her work.

He likes most pop stars nowadays and his fav is Adele. But he likes Beyonce, a couple katy songs, old school Gaga (yeah he doesn't care about her now) etc...but above all he likes to see a great show and a good voice...which is why i think he's gonna love Madonna if the right thing is shown.

    Any ideas? :D

Name one tour and one performance.

Tour...i'm kinda torn between S&S and MDNA. Please don't mention stuff like Blond Ambition Tour cause he (or any 18 year old) would cringe at that Cherish performance or Material Girl, etc xD And i like the idea of showing something that will sound and look fresh, instead of trying to make Madonna an 80's "artifact".

Also, if you know a good youtube video with a retrospective of Madonna's most famous songs/singles, it would be nice as well :D

    Thank you!

  14. Wow! the lack of love Confessions gets here :o

Future Lovers, Sorry, Let It Will Be, Isaac...and that entire last section all choreographed!

I remember the shock everyone got when S&S started and half the last section Madonna carries a guitar! ahah xD (still one of my fav last sections excluding that outfit :o )

My fav is Confessions for me.

Sticky had the best energy ever. I saw the Blu Ray yesterday and damn! Is that a 50 YO woman?!

She makes MDNA look like she's almost standing still!

I got to say though...it's amazing that since she started touring again in 2001, the tours got more and more demanding from Drowned to S&S!
