I think when M introduces a new era she does it slowly so that people find the complete overhaul image/mindset change authentic...that’s why we had the Italian Vogue shoot late this year to introduce her Portugal life and then the VMAs look to introduce the Boho-Mystical-white-Witch look...

when the album drops with the full concept people will ‘buy into it’ as authentic especially when she does the promo rounds and talks about the process...

ive never known M to just drop an Album along with a brand new image just like that on the GP - even erotica was introduced slowly as was Ray Of Light Era

Hmmm, i have the exact opposite observation...  Ever since TRUE BLUE, MADONNA surprises and starts a promo with a new look out of the gate. It has always been part of her strategy. When LIVE TO TELL came out, she wowed with her demure look then shocked with the platinum blonde when Papa Don't Preach came out with the album... Even with EROTICA, she was brunette in the movie, appeared demure blonde in the video then bang! Gold-toothed sex kitten when the book and album dropped... It is only with MDNA and REBEL HEART that she didn't shock... even HARD CANDY's BOXER chick look was "ooooh" worthy...

At risk of getting stoned here, did it occur to anybody that she just didn't want to release her album at the same time with "a star is born“ and all of its hype?

yes way back in Aug/Sept, in my mind, Guy O may have suggested to have a wait and see how ASIB will fare with the public... I know most fans will refuse to think Lady Voldemort is far from MADONNA's mind but it definitely will not be from Guy O as a manager... managers think about competition of their artists... having said that, i expect the album definitely after the Oscars, because they worship the copycat there....

Yeah yeah Vogue ‘confirmed’ that the album may come out this year but that was info that M or her team gave in July, then maybe the schedule changed and that was pushed a few months so move on.

Now let’s focus on next year and pray that it doesn’t leak like the last 3 albums.

but MADONNA has been leaking since the birth of Napster not just the last 3 albums... (those were the days) the Rebel Heart type of leak is the one that should be avoided (although I loved those leakages)

As if any of this bullshit factors into Madonna's decision making process. Some Madonna fans' obsession with Lady Gaga is truly pathological.

oh puhlease... you guys here lurks and posts more often in that shit gaga thread that i don't even visit... my only sentiment is i don't want to see that fart enjoy huge success while our queen is being panned... and the rabid media that's usually anti Madonna, they will have a field day with that scenario... though i have always been an advocate of a November release, a release next year is just right in this situation, March or April... any music festivals happening around those time where she can debut the new music?

I think we can officially say that MDNA Skin from 2016 till now has become it's own era in between albums lol!!

FOR SURE! After the Rebel Heart Tour of 2015-2016, it's been all MDNA skin promos for the last two years, and it was all fun, we shouldn't be complaining.... As real fans, we should be glad she is not idle long into her career.... Her skin care line is like the bestseller among DIVA sidelines...

  6. There's nothing wrong withe the HARD CANDY album title... people know what hard candy is, and knowing M it probably described her toughness at that point being newly divorced and all... HARD CANDY - STICKY and SWEET was a great theme...
