  1. Minimalism works for her Mirwais produced material. Outside of him I like what Shep Pettibone did for her with "In This Life" but I have the minority opinion here.

In my oppinion it doesnt works for any material and that deffinately includes Mirwais. Actually this trend with her was started tnx to him and AL. Obviouslly he made her think the simplicity was the key, but it was tnx to the simplicity that she lost the key. I even think that Miles Away (even though I love it) could ve been much better song if it was produced with more rich sounds.

All her clasics have alot of layers firstly ROL, but also You ll See etc... She should stop thinking that a great song should consist of vocal and a guitar.

  2. clearly its a beautiful song, which could ve been totally amazing if it wasnt UNDERPRODUCED (the demo) like all her ballads from 2003 on. This trend started with AL and she insist on it eventhough it backfired in her face. No great ballad of her was THAT underproduced. I hope the orchestra saves the song.

  3. Her last decent era was Confessions since then she has been going steadily downhill.

Are her days of turning out melodic pop songs with killer hooks, decent production and no cringeworthy juvenile

    lyrics over?

COADF was just before her last album. Yes COADF was amazing. And I think HC is deffinately not a bad record, although I think she chose the wrong singles: first should ve been TBGO with killer video and after that DWERY. Last Candyshop. I think HC was a very Madonna album and that she managed to sound like herself irrespective of the famous producers(minus 4 minutes).

I also loved Revolver/Celebration. But its true there was no track that had the WOW factor that was present in lots of tracks of ROL/COADF/Vogue.

  4. I hope the final version is with VIOLINS and orchestra.

Its very sweet even in the demo version.

I ve read its cowritten with the writers of Cant Get You Out Of My Head. Is it true?

I like the fact that she sounds mature. A big sign of relief after GMAYL, which deffinately has hit potential, but it does sound so teen (maybe its a direction she aspired so thats ironic?).

The good thing would be if we see the retirn of beautiful MELODIES, grown up lyrics and the sensibility that she was showing in the second half of the 90ties. There is also sophistication.

  5. Tnx god that Bennasi is NOT working with her.

She doesnt need a dj, she needs solid songwriters.

I m happy with Orbit AND Solveig. GMAYL may be a little bit infantile, but its infectious and fun. I d like to hear the final verson, but even if that is the final version its a good song much better than 4 minutes or anything on HC (minus TBGO and DWERY).

  6. I think this is a real grower. I wanted more sophisticated sound, but this is really straitforward M song which I love. Indeed it feels like there is no pretence. There is a retro feel to it. Is it 60ties or 80ties? I dont know but it sounds like something she could ve recorded in the 80ties at the hight of her career. I think its a return to her roots.

  7. I think it would be a great idea to release 2 singles BEFORE the release of the album. Nowadays her 1st singles perform well, because the album is not out and the fans urge to buy it. Having in mind that Madonna is an album artist (mostly) nowadays her second singles underperform (especially in USA) because the fans already have the album and doesnt need to buy the single.

In conclusion, I think it would be very wise if she has 2 singles out before the album, because in this way I think she will invest money in BOTH videos, because noth singles would have bigger chances to perform well on the charts.
