  1. Receptionist sent home from PwC for not wearing high heels

Nicola Thorp says she was told to leave on her first day at City accountancy firm after refusing to wear shoes with a 2-4in heel

A receptionist claims she was sent home from work at a corporate finance company after refusing to wear high heels.

Nicola Thorp, 27, from Hackney in east London, arrived on her first day at PwC in December in flat shoes but says she was told she had to wear shoes with a 2in to 4in heel.

Thorp, who was employed as a temporary worker by PwCs outsourced reception firm Portico, said she was laughed at when she said the demand was discriminatory and sent home without pay after refusing to go out and buy a pair of heels.

Portico said it set the uniform rules for staff but would review its guidelines, the BBC reported.

Thorp told BBC Radio London: I said, If you can give me a reason as to why wearing flats would impair me to do my job today, then fair enough, but they couldnt. I was expected to do a nine-hour shift on my feet escorting clients to meeting rooms. I said I just wont be able to do that in heels.

Thorp said after speaking to friends and posting about the incident on her Facebook account she realised that other women had been in similar positions. She has since launched a petition calling for the law to be changed so companies can no longer force women to wear high heels to work. It has so far received more than 11,000 signatures.

I was a bit scared about speaking up about it in case there was a negative backlash, she said. But I realised I needed to put a voice to this as it is a much bigger issue.

I dont hold anything against the company necessarily, because they are acting within their rights as employers to have a formal dress code, and, as it stands, part of that for a woman is to wear high heels. I think dress codes should reflect society and nowadays women can be smart and wear flat shoes.

Apart from the debilitating factor, its the sexism issue. I think companies shouldnt be forcing that on their female employees.

A Portico spokesman said: In line with industry standard practice, we have personal appearance guidelines across many of our corporate locations. These policies ensure staff are dressed consistently and include recommendations for appropriate style of footwear for the role.

We have taken on board the comments regarding footwear and will be reviewing our guidelines in consultation with our clients and team members.

A PwC spokesman said: PwC outsources its front of house and reception services to a third-party supplier. We first became aware of this matter on 10 May, some five months after the issue arose. The dress code referenced in the article is not a PwC policy.

  2. You huys are so negative jeez.

Hey look at the bright side. Fiorina now has more time to play with his kids.

Just when you thought no one can be worse than Sarah Palin, here comes Carly Fiorina.

    I despise Fiorina.

When she was with HP, she did NOTHING but having rainbow tour all over the world and spent money like nobody's business. She broke HP into 2 companies, and HP shares dropped to a historical low. She adds ZERO value to HP and ended up ousted by the board.

    USELESS CUNT.

  3. Woman Files $5 Million Lawsuit Against Starbucks For Putting Too Much Ice In Her Drinks

Stacy Pincus accuses the coffee chain of fraud, negligent misrepresentation and unjust enrichment.

An Illinois woman is reportedly suing Starbucks for $5 million over the amount of ice it puts in customers drinks.

Stacy Pincus accuses the coffee chain of packing almost half of their cold beverages with ice as a means to skimp on serving actual coffee to customers, according to the suit obtained by Courthouse News.

When it comes to ordering a 24-ounce Venti coffee, for example, Pincus claims a customer only receives 14 ounces of actual coffee, and ice takes up the remaining 10. The miffed customer further notes that hot Starbucks beverages typically cost less than cold ones, even though they contain more coffee because of the lack of ice.

Among the accusations hurled at the coffee conglomerate are fraud, negligent misrepresentation and unjust enrichment.

Pincus expresses her intent to represent everyone who ever purchased a cold drink from the coffee chain over the last 10 years.

A Starbucks spokesperson believes the suit is without merit, however.

Our customers understand and expect that ice is an essential component of any iced beverage, the spokesperson told The Huffington Post in an email, adding that the company would remake any beverage if a customer is unsatisfied.

This story has been updated to include a statement from Starbucks.

Speaking to Maury about the experience of being memeified, she said, “Why would everybody compare me to a president? You know, being related to a president?”

She replied, “No! I’ve never known him! The only one I’ve ever known of was Donald Trump — I never heard of Ted Cruz until y’all called me that day on the phone.”

“Are you a Republican? A Democrat? Are you politically involved, or not?” asked Maury.

“What’s that? I mean the only one I ever heard of was Donald Trump.”

For the record, Searcy also said she is interested in getting a DNA test to determine if she is, in fact, related to Cruz in some way.

In the meantime, though, she has no qualms using the comparison to her advantage, and in this day and age that can really only mean one thing — porn.

For some inexplicable reason, adult site xHamster offered Searcy $10,000 to produce a sex tape with her boyfriend; the couple accepted.

“I’m fine with it because everything is going to support my family. I want to get my son whatever he wants,” she said, adding, “We want to buy a truck, pay off our house and we might get married. I never had anyone say, ‘Here’s $10,000! Go make a sex tape.'”

And if you’re curious how her boyfriend, Freddie Green, feels about all this, he said, “It’s kind of exciting and shocking to know she’s famous — she’s more famous than Madonna!”

  5. Surgeons Remove Edible Sex Toy From Man's Anus

    April 7, 2016

    by Karin Sun

Surgeons at San Juan de Dios Hospital in San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica, removed an 18-inch-long cassava root that had gotten stuck in a man's rectum after he used it as a sex toy.

The unidentified man, 55, had carved the root into the shape of a phallus and inserted it into his anus, the Costa Rica Star reported April 6. However, he was rushed to the hospital when two latex condoms that he had placed on the root ripped inside him.

Surgeons took about an hour to remove the plant, which was about three inches wide, from the man's anal cavity. They also had to do some reconstructive procedures to repair the damage to his anus and intestines.

Video footage of the surgery was filmed and posted online, according to the Daily Mail.

The man is now in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery. Doctors said he was lucky that he did not suffer a perforated rectum, which could have led to a dangerous infection.

The cassava, or yucca, plant is a starchy root that is commonly found in South America and from which tapioca is produced. The American Cancer Society warns that those with a latex rubber allergy may suffer a reaction from eating the plant, according to the Daily Mail.

In an interview with Costa Rican tabloid Diario Extra, renowned sexologist Mauro Fernandez said that sitophilia, or sex play using vegetables and other edible materials, is a common type of sex fetish, the Costa Rica Star reported.

According to a 2014 article in Women’s Health Magazine, nurses in Chicago explained that female patients are sometimes admitted due to vaginal insertion of cucumbers, bananas and hot dogs.

The most common problem emanates from pieces of food breaking off inside the reproductive tract, a situation that may lead to infection and toxicity.

  6. Women and children among 52 killed in huge bomb blast near kids' park

The blast occured in a park in the eastern city of Lahore, police have said.

Pakistani police said the nature of the blast was not clear.

"At least 38 people were killed and more than 100 are injured," Mustansar Feroz, superintendent of police for the area said.

"Most of the dead and injured are women and children."

Police said the nature of the blast was not clear but officers are investigating whether the attack was a suicide bomb.

Reports said the park was crowded due to the Easter holiday weekend.

Security personnel have reportedly surrounded the area and launched a search operation in and around the park.

Pakistan, a nuclear-armed nation of 190 million people, is plagued by a Taliban insurgency, criminal gangs and sectarian violence.

The news comes just days after a suicide bomber killed 26 in a huge stadium bomb blast.

And last week terror attacks in Brussels killed 31 people and one British victim has now been confirmed.

The death toll is expected to rise as many of those injured are in a critical condition.

The area was crowded at the time because Christians were gathering to celebrate the Easter holiday.

Eyewitnesses said they saw body parts strewn across the parking lot once the dust had settled after the blast.

Many families were leaving the park when the blast occurred.

  7. It's a 2007 old news.

    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/germany-pulls-booklet-encouraging-parent-child-sexual-massage-but-not-child

While the Government has now pulled the booklets encouraging parent-toddler sexual massage, they have not yet pulled the children’s song book which advocates masturbation for children as young as 4-years of age.

I wonder what song could that be?

He played knick-knack on my "stick"

“Fathers do not devote enough attention to the clitoris and vagina of their daughters. Their caresses too seldom pertain to these regions, while this is the only way the girls can develop a sense of pride in their sex,” reads the booklet regarding 1-3 year olds. The authors rationalize, “The child touches all parts of their father’s body, sometimes arousing him. The father should do the same.”
