Welp, Milo Yiannopoulos...may no one normalize your bullshit again.

Video shared ahead of CPAC shows Milo Yiannopoulos speaking fondly of relationships between men and 'young boys'

Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos’ tolerant statements on pedophilia may have jeopardized his speaking opportunity at next week's Conservative Political Action Conference.

The right-wing provocateur once spoke fondly of relationships between children and men on the 2016 podcast "The Drunken Peasants."

In the Jan. 4 episode, he flippantly said that young boys "discover who they are" through those relationships, later implying that those relationships can be sexual in nature, and can "give them security and safety and provide them with love and a reliable rock where they can't speak to their parents," he said.

  2. Florida shooting: Five dead at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, police say

    Updated

A gunman carrying US military identification has shot dead five people at a baggage carousel at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, before being taken into custody.

    Key points:

    • Gunman arrived on flight with checked gun in bag
    • Shooter reportedly identified as 26yo who was honourably discharged from Army last year
    • Appears shooter acted alone, too early to assign motive: County Sheriff

Eight others were wounded when the gunman, identified by authorities as 26-year-old US Army veteran Esteban Santiago, opened fire.

The gunman had arrived on a flight with a checked gun in his bag, Broward County Commissioner Chip LaMarca said on Twitter.

He claimed his bag and went to the bathroom to load the gun before coming out and firing, Mr LaMarca said.

Mobile phone video posted on social media showed victims on the floor next to a carousel, with people on their knees attempting to provide aid, while at least two victims had pools of blood from apparent head wounds.

Police did not fire any shots and the gunman was taken into custody unharmed, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said.

Mr Santiago served in Iraq with the National Guard but was demoted and discharged last year for unsatisfactory performance, authorities said.

Mr Santiago's brother, Bryan, told AP his brother had been receiving psychological treatment in Alaska.

He said Mr Santiago's girlfriend alerted the family to the situation in recent months.

Bryan Santiago said he did not know what his brother was being treated for and that they never talked about it over the telephone.

He said Mr Santiago was born in New Jersey and moved to Puerto Rico when he was two.

He was deployed to Iraq in 2010 and spent a year there with the 130th Engineer Battalion, according to Puerto Rico National Guard spokesman Paul Dahlen, and later joined the Alaska National Guard.

Mr Israel said it was too early to assign a motive, adding: "At this point, it looks like he acted alone."

Shooter said nothing as he fired, witnesses say

The gunman said nothing as he fired, witnesses told MSNBC.

He appeared to use a 9mm handgun, which he tossed aside upon running out of ammunition, surrendering to police, MSNBC reported.

Video showed hundreds of people standing on the tarmac as an ambulance drove by and authorities rushed to the scene.

About 90 minutes after the attack, panic broke out anew with passengers and police running frantically about at a separate terminal, but Mr Israel said there were no other reports of shots being fired.

Mr Israel's office later tweeted that the bomb squad would detonate a "suspicious package near railroad tracks".

John Schlicher, who told MSNBC he saw the attack, said the gunman was "directly firing at us" while passengers waited for their bags to come off the carousel.

"I put my head down and prayed," Mr Schlicher said, adding that his wife gave first aid to someone who had been shot in the head.

His mother-in-law used her sweater to tend to another victim but it turned out that victim was already dead, Mr Schlicher said.

Mark Lea, another witness, told MSNBC "there was no rhyme or reason to it".

"He didn't say anything, he was quiet the whole time, he didn't yell anything," Mr Lea said.

Florida Governor travelling to Fort Lauderdale

Security officials corralled passengers into areas including underneath the terminal and at least one open space on the runway apron, according to images on cable news networks.

Florida Governor Rick Scott was traveling to Fort Lauderdale — where air traffic was shut down — to be briefed by law enforcement, his office said in a statement.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is the second largest in South Florida, serving as an intercontinental gateway, with Miami International Airport known as the primary airport for international flights in the area.

Some 30 kilometres north of Miami, the Fort Lauderdale airport is near cruise line terminals.

  3. Trump 'friend' and N.Y. campaign co-chair says he wants Obama dead of ‘mad cow disease’ in 2017

American businessman Carl Paladino at Trump Tower on Dec. 5 in New York.

Carl Paladino, a former Republican nominee for governor of New York and an adviser to president-elect Trump, included the death of President Obama and “return” of first lady Michelle Obama to Africa on his list of things he wanted for 2017.

Paladino was responding to a survey by an alternative weekly magazine, Artvoice.

Asked what he would like to happen in 2017, he said he hopes that “Obama catches mad cow disease” and dies after having relations with a Hereford, a type of cow. Asked what he would most like to see go, Paladino responded that Michelle Obama would “return to being male” and be “let loose” in Zimbabwe.

Artvoice: What would you most like to happen in 2017?

Carl Paladino: Obama catches mad cow disease after being caught having relations with a Herford. He dies before his trial and is buried in a cow pasture next to Valerie Jarret, who died weeks prior, after being convicted of sedition and treason, when a Jihady cell mate mistook her for being a nice person and decapitated her.

Artvoice: What would you most like to see go in 2017?

Carl Paladino: Michelle Obama. I’d like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.

In a statement to The Post, Paladino denied that the comments were racist.

“It has nothing to do with race,” Paladino said. “That’s the typical stance of the press when they can’t otherwise defend the acts of the person being attacked.”

“It’s about 2 progressive elitist ingrates who have hated their country so badly and destroyed its fabric in so many respects in 8 years,” he added.

Reached briefly by phone Friday, Paladino confirmed that he made the comments and that he is currently involved in Trump's transition efforts.

“I don't think Mr. Trump particularly cares what I have to say,” Paladino said. “He knows me. I was active with him, and I still am active with him.”

“And that's it. I'll say what I feel like saying.”

No stranger to controversy, Paladino has repeatedly over the years attacked Obama privately and publicly — including pushing the falsehood that Obama is Muslim. During his gubernatorial race, Paladino was accused of sending graphically racist and sexist emails — some of them concerning Obama — to his circle of friends. Paladino never denied sending the emails but called them a “smear.”

In a statement, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat,  slammed Paladino for a "long history of racist and incendiary comments."

"Carl Paladino, a Republican Party official from Western New York, made racist, ugly and reprehensible remarks about President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama," Cuomo said. "While most New Yorkers know Mr. Paladino is not to be taken seriously, as his erratic behavior defies any rational analysis and he has no credibility, his words are still jarring.

"His remarks do not reflect the sentiments or opinions of any real New Yorker and he has embarrassed the good people of the state with his latest hate-filled rage," he added.

As recently as Dec. 5, Paladino visited Trump Tower after the election.

“We're friends,” Paladino told reporters afterward. “My meeting was good.”

And this week, Paladino, a Buffalo school board member, sought to have photos of Trump hung in all of the city's schools.

In a statement Paladino's alma mater St. Bonaventure University, where he once served on the board of trustees, denounced his comments.

"Mr. Paladino’s remarks in ArtVoice are reprehensible and in complete contradiction to the values of St. Bonaventure University," said Andrew Roth, the University's president. "At St. Bonaventure we believe in an inclusive community that values diversity as a strength.

"While as educators we know we never attain 100%, it is reasonably certain that the vast majority of St. Bonaventure’s extended family – students, Franciscans, faculty, staff and alumni – share in the rejection of Mr. Paladino’s comments and the comments of any who violate our shared values of individual dignity, community inclusiveness and service to others," he added.

Trump transition officials did not respond to requests for comment.
