    it would be a special treat for Madonna to be #2 behind MC.I'm sure she'd be thrilled.

    Yeah, just like the way MC made it to top 100 in EACH and EVERY other country outside US.

    No, actually David Cook's rendition will not debut on the digital chart, just as Castro's rendition didn't. Either Madonna or Mariah will be #1 on the Digital Sales chart.

    Why not?

    For Castro case, it was Jeff Buckley's version made available on iTunes for download and topped the digital sales chart but was not allowed to chart on hot 100 as it was not serviced to radio.

    Whereas for Cook, it's his own version that tops the iTunes chart. I believe it will affect both hot100 & digital single since the song is being played on radio (0.398m 44 spins).

    Anyway, it's just a personal speculation. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Moreover, 4M has absolutely NOTHING to lose.

    The song was available 1 day later than TMB and there's only 1 version available whereas TMB has 2 (provided the remix to be released by tomorrow). It would be an insult to IDJ & Mimi if 4M tops the iTunes chart.

    Mimi has already had 17 #1, the most for female, so what's difference if she gets another 1?

    It may be a good sign that IDJ/Mariah feels the need to release a remix...

    I'm glad they released the remix within this week.

    We all know the fact that TMB will make to #1 next week and that's Mimi & IDJ's motive. Once it made it to #1, they will not care if the following week 4M top TMB.

    Since 4M has just been serviced to radio for less than 2 weeks, Madonna has nothing to lose even if she didn't make it to #1. Moreover, US is not the only country she rely on.

    Whereas for Mariah, her song has been out for > 1 month and US is the last place on earth where her albums and singles are able to sell out.
