  1. After exactly half a year, BEP relinquishes the top spot.

    http://www.billboard.com/#/news/jay-sean-sends-peas-packing-from-hot-100-1004020213.story

    Jay Sean will put an end to the Black Eyed Peas' record reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 as his "Down" will move into the top slot on the chart to be released tomorrow morning. The Peas had held steady at No. 1 for 26 straight weeks with "Boom Boom Pow" (12 weeks) and "I Gotta Feeling (14 weeks), smashing the prior mark of 19 straight No. 1 frames earned by Usher with a pair of his tracks in 2004.

    For Sean, his debut single becomes his first Hot 100 No. 1. The track also climbs to the top of Hot 100 Airplay with a total of 115 million listener impressions and rises 5-3 on Hot Digital Songs, where is has moved 1.5 million downloads since its release.

    How sad.

    IGF should've been given another 1 more week to break tie with WBT.

  2. ...Streisand surprised many with how well her album sold in non-traditional ways -- such as through Starbucks, QVC and via her Web site -- and that likely threw a wrench into forecasting sales.

    Mimi should learn from Barbra i.e. sell her next album through KFC.

  3. Lambs are now hoping for:

    1. SS figure will be different so that another Prince VS Keith Urban miracles to happen

    2. Turn their table around and rooting for Babs, whom they had been dissing before the hits results, to get her 9th #1 (if SS is different) so that Madge can't tie with her if her next album goes #1

    3. Mimi will hold up steadily in order to have another shot at #1 on its 2nd week (They need to move on from TEOM seriously)

    4. The remix MOAIA album will have a chance to get a #1

    :chuckle:

  4. um..is there ANY chance here Hits can be WAY off? I reeeally hope BBoard reports these EXACT figures lol!!

    The recent case was Prince VS Keith Urban:

    2 PRINCE LOTUS FLOW3R 168,420 38 999 168,458

    But this is a very rare situation.

    But then again, the difference between Paramore & Barbra is only 7,884, Barbra may top the chart IF her SS is higher than Paramore, whereas It is unlikely for Mimi to top the chart since the difference between Paramore & Mimi is 11,805.

    Another scenario could be Mimi's SS is higher than Barbra since the difference between Mimi & Barbra is even smaller (3,921) as compare to Barbra & Paramore, Mimi may steal #2 from Barbra.

  8. YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 (OR 15) CHART PREVIEW: A shitload of debuts (figuratively speaking) will infiltrate the top of next week’s chart. Outside the holiday months of November and December, next week could mark the first time in nearly two years when each of the Top 15 sells more than 40k. Next Tuesday they may well be popping the champagne corks at Hollywood, in Disney’s first hat trick since they sold the Mighty Ducks. Congrats to topper Peter Paterno… Scratch that—we just learned Peter’s no longer at the label… Columbia could hit the trifecta as well, if you throw in a certain blonde bombshell from Area Code 615. Anyhoo, here’s what we’re looking at—and while we’re at it, here’s looking at you, kid....

    * Paramore (Fueled by Ramen) 185-195k

    * Mariah Carey (Island/IDJ) 160-170k

    * Barbra Streisand (Columbia) 150-160k

    * Breaking Benjamin (Hollywood) 140-150k

    * Alice in Chains (Virgin) 130-140k

    Jay-Z (Roc Nation) 80-85k

    * Miranda Lambert (Columbia Nashville) 70-75k

    * Madonna (Warner Bros.) 65-70k

    Pearl Jam (Monkeywrench) 65-70k

    * AFI (Interscope) 55-60k

    * Selena Gomez & the Scene (Hollywood) 55-60k

    Whitney Houston (Arista/RMG) 45-50k

    Miley Cyrus (Hollywood) 40-45k

    * Dethklok (Williams Street) 40-45k

    Harry Connick Jr. (Columbia) 40-45k

    * Denotes debut

    You may now return to debating a possible re-fi with your spouse. (10/2a)

    Go Paramore!!! :headbang:

  9. Like me, they will change their minds. It is far too tempting. I saw the official track list and I just couldn't resist. All those great songs on 2 CDs? Irresistable.

    Most of the casual/lapsed fans I have talked to intend on buying this. These people haven't bought a Madonna CD since ROL if even then. But most didn't even know about it until I told them.

    Although I have started the Not-Buying-DVD thread (Mainly to spoof Kramm), but I'd placed an order for all 3 format (1CD/2CD/2DVD) from Japan as well as Taiwan.

    Yes, I couldn't resist either.

  10. That's true, you can't compare it to a new studio album- GH albums usually sell less in their debut weeks- there are exeptions to that, but it's accurate as a general rule.

    I believe many of us have no problem with Madge not topping the chart since it's the GH.

    But the most annoying part is Pariah Scarey purposely pushed her release date same as Madge. Pariah knows she'll win and benefits from such situation and to declare she's the best selling & most successful. :rolleyes:
