he recently had a very successful broadway residency, and his fanbase is pretty faithful. they're mostly older and white.

haha. you can hear it though. i think some of the weirdness you can hear in the original live stream is actually auto-tune trying to correct.

i'm not sure. there are certain notes that are obviously pitch-adjusted, so even if it was pulled from another performance it was also auto-tuned.
my new theory is that she was singing live with auto-tune to correct any pitch problems and i think she might have been so consistently off pitch that the auto-tune was trying to correct to the wrong note, which actually made her sound worse.

i wonder if the political message is why she wanted to retain the rights to the performance? because if she knew in advance they were going to be upset and refuse to post it online or censor it in some way, she may have wanted to try to get the rights to post it herself.

i've only seen a short clip of "future," so i'll wait to see it in full, but her vocal performance during like a prayer was easily one of her worst. once she got off track she seemed to struggle to get back. she did this same performance at the met gala and it was good, so i just think her nerves (and maybe some sound issues) got to her. it was really, really hard to watch.

bruce still has a loyal fanbase who are older and still buy CDs. and also, the deluxe edition is exclusive to target, which is where most fans are probably pre-ordering the album.

i think medellin is a better "song" but in terms of style and energy, it's what i expected too - at least for a first single.
