  1. I'd say it's a hybrid of Latin and Western pop with a Motown flavour, and probably a few other genres someone wiser than me is able to name.
  2. 1 God Control 2 Medellin 3 Dark Ballet 4 Crazy 5 Come Alive
  3. FG is better. BIL is what you get when you put BIM and Medellin together in a blender.
  4. This is not a backlash, this is a frontlash. Let's let the girl release her video first and then complain about the reaction.
  5. I have. A lot of people don't necessarily take time off work because of the death of a loved one, and since Anderson's show seems to be airing as usual (coupled with the fact Mensch implied M would be a guest) I thought he wasn't taking a break. I will stand corrected - I guess they're showing reruns or prerecorded episodes, so my bad!
  6. How does his mother having died mean M couldn't be on his show?
  7. I'm not too crazy about AL or Future for Pride. I can live with I Rise although I don't think it adds much value to Madame X. But. People who are saying she should do a string of fun hits because Pride is a celebration and a party are forgetting something. Pride may be a party now but deep down it's a political protest. No matter how much fabulous, champagne-fueled fun people have there now, Pride is, at its core, a demostration against the establishment and a cry for freedom. There is still a lot of work to do until LGBTQI+ people have reached equality, and the fight goes on. That's what the Pride movement is all about, to this day, behind its glittery surface. So for a Stonewall ambassador to choose political, even angsty songs for the setlist is perfectly in tune with the event, especially considering that Stonewall happened 50 years ago. Whether the songs she chose serve this purpose well is another story.
  8. She's shot a bazillion glorious, fresh photo shoots with about a dozen glorious, fresh looks and they use this? To say I'm baffled is a serious understatement.
  9. That's a very good point, and just as valid today as it was in 2002 (AL and M aside, would the Dixie Chicks have faced the controversy they did if they'd been the Dixie Dudes?) If Childish Gambino or Kendrick Lamar did something like this they'd be praised. Oh, wait, they did something like this and they were praised. It's impossible to imagine Mambo's living male (or female, for that matter) peers like Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John doing anything of the kind as they're busy making money off ancient hits on endless farewell tours, but one can only imagine the reaction David Bowie would have received if he were still alive and released a video like this. He would be showered in praise and seen as a courageous genius. Which is exactly what he was, but being male he also got the credit for it. That said, let's wait and see what happens. I'd like to think the world is ready to respect M for tackling the subject of god gun control through her art rather than rip her to shreads.
  10. 1. Madame X 9 / 10 2. Rebel Heart 7,5 / 10 3. Hard Candy 6 / 10 4. MDNA 5 / 10
  11. This is really cool. Is it common for new albums to get a good user score and then decline, or can we expect this to hold steady?
  12. Choose one of the two : Medellin/Living For Love Dark Ballet/Devil Pray God Control/Ghosttown Future/Unapologetic Bitch Batuka/Illuminati Killers Who Are Partying/Bitch I'm Madonna Crave/Hold Tight Crazy/Joan Of Arc Come Alive/Iconic Extreme Occident/Heartbreak City Faz Gostoso/Body Shop Bitch I'm Loca/Holy Water I Don't Search I Find/Inside Out Looking For Mercy/Wash All Over Me I Rise/Best Night Back That Up To The Beat/S.E.X Ciao Bella/Messiah Soltera/Rebel Heart Madame X - 14, Rebel Heart - 4
  13. 1 Medellín 2 God Control 3 Crazy 4 Dark Ballet 5 Crave
  14. I guess Pitchfork are taking their sweet time simply because their reviewer is so in awe of Madame X they need time to write down the countless reasons why they love the album?
