My mom had a serious fall during this past summer and was placed in nursing facility for a couple of months. She's finally out now and is ok, but it was very sad being there almost everyday and seeing people in the facility who have advanced dementia and different illnesses. A handful weren't able to eat and shit by themselves or even speak.
Like others have already said, it's 2016 and euthanasia should be legalized to help prevent certain patients from unnecessary suffering at the end of their lives.
Anyway, happy for the possible change in policy in Victoria. Hope the bill goes through.....

Disappointing to hear of this. At least in Paris from my visiting there and reading international papers, lgbtq can have some good freedoms and not worry nearly as much as people from other cities in world.

Think she's been a wonderful role model for POC and she obviously really fashionable and looks great. Just Very tired about how some writers in mainstream news like NY times, NPR, and huff post lick her asshole and place her on a pedestal because she's a black woman. Of course, amazing US can have a black president and family when so much racism in society, but I hate over the top identity politics and smug elitism.

Some people have been telling me too that they're extremly sad. My cousin told me last night how students at her college were skipping classes yesterday because everybody felt down.
Not personally angry or depressed. Just very concerned about how presidency will effect future policy decisions.
My elderly relatives survived nazi occupations during the fourties, so figure most of us can survive Trump. Lol

Def agree with some you said. Unfortunately, some leftists and people who embrace identity politics viciously attack others who tend to be on their side, while embracing an ideology of victimhood. Of course, I don't mean that's everybody. Just from my personal experience it's getting more difficult to engage in discussion where we can strongly disagree without resentment and name calling.

My cousin is at NYC protest and she's been texting me at how intense and crowded it is. Many of those kids protesting are very privileged brats from NYU, but glad they're exercising their freedm to protest. Just really would hate if it became an exercise in retarded looting and rioting, but that doesn't seem to be came at all.

Been in Italy a few times and always hated seeing major US chains in these historic and buetiful city centers. It partly ruins the aesethic and it seems difficult to keep them from over commercializing and expanding into sacred cultural spaces.

Don't know if giraffes are part of bush meat that's smuggled in Africa, but underground bush meat trade still going very strong.
Just wonder how global organizations can better help feed people in poor and disadvantaged regions while helping to stop extinction of animals.
