  1. @XXLEven before a pandemic without treatment for now, the side of the social class gap where you find yourself completely changes the perception and the consequences of the event. No, the COVID-19 is anything but an equalizer. Yes, if you are rich, it does not immunize you from having the disease BUT you can have easy access and the best care, you do not live in overcrowded areas, your general physical condition is much better than a poor , because you eat better, exercise ... Suffice to note that more than 95% of COVID's deaths in North America are in the poorest and most vulnerable social classes of our societies. The rich do not stop being rich during this social seclusion, they are only a little less rich while putting pressures (that work) on all governments to reopen their economy.  This is why the rich and celebrities should shut their mouths during this pandemic and stop trying to attract our pity with their first world problems live from their mansion surrounded by poor servants.

Let's hope things go back to the "new normal" soon.

Isn't it funny, that I feel the luckiest guy just because I can go for a walk soon? Life is strange.

Yes, let’s hope so. This is the kind of situation that reminds us that we take many things for granted in our daily lives.

  3. it has just been denied (but hey it would surprise me that North Korea reports the truth before having completed the transition from power to his sister), but there is still hope that he die soon. His death will be proof that all is not negative in 2020. 🤞🏻

That doctor is not reacting. She's been defending Trump these past days. She's equally guilty. Or even more guilty, because she is the expert. How long can these people go for money??????

For the money, the visibility and the proximity of power, too many experts these days are ready to plug their nose and lose all credibility.

  5. What amazes me the most is that 4 years after Trump began to gradually destroy American democracy, you may still be surprised by his new insane statements of the day. The guy is a mythomaniac sociopath incapable of empathy who currently only thinks about his re-election. He will reopen the economy completely by mid-May regardless of the consequences. He does not care. The crazy people who follow him don't care either.

I'm very shocked at Sweden, tbqh. They're following the herd immunity route. It seems very dangerous. But then again in Sweden there seems to be some kind of social distance from old people (and people in general) for years. I think it was 25% of the elderly die alone there. And half the population live alone. Maybe that's why they didn't need a lockdown.

Almost half of the people in Denmark live alone too, as opposed to 20% of the Spaniards. That's an important factor too.

I was also terribly surprised that Sweden followed this road to face the pandemic. But, as you mentioned, the living conditions are different and so are the social habits.

Believe me, there are a**holes in Denmark, too.

Nonetheless, according to the Danish infectious diseases agency, it would be completely safe to reopen a wide range of Danish businesses immediately, as long a majority of adult Danes keep practicing physical distancing and maintaining a high level of hand hygiene.

Workplaces that might be reopened immediately include service businesses and public-sector offices. However, Danish health authorities recommend that restaurants, cafés, pubs, nightclubs, sports facilities, and boarding schools remain closed for the time being.

I know, there are assholes everywhere, but the concept of common good is a collective value well established in Denmark and in several Scandinavian countries.

  8. The gradual restoration of the ozone layer has nothing to do with the confinement of the last month, but rather by decisions taken more than 30 years ago. However, the drop in pollution observed in the past month shows that if we had collectively taken the measures put forward at the Kyoto conference almost 30 years ago, we could have controlled climate change and not only learned to adapt to it . We are truly the virus of the planet and his ecosystem.

And many other people in many countries. I'm sure the majority of Canadians aren't like those.

I assure you, no, Canadians are not like that for the majority, but our government still had to pass very strict rules with fines to enforce the instructions of social distancing by this segment of the population unable to contribute to the common good. What helps us now is that April is unusually cold this year, which makes it easier to follow the instructions. As soon as the heat officially settles, I have the impression that we will see more and more of this type of asshole on the streets.

It's like she's selling a beauty cream LOL. So insincere.

"Ladies, put a generous amount of cream on your swollen face because of all the injections and then put on the mask. But pay attention to your nose when installing the mask if you have had like me more than 4 rhinoplasty in your life because the cartilage and the bone are probably very damaged."

  11. @Msig I am always impressed by the high level of social responsibility and discipline of the Danes, without any rigid containment measures by the government. To achieve the same level of containment in Quebec, the government had to impose strict rules and impose onerous fines for people who did not respect social distancing measures. You are truly an example in terms of people who are involved for the common good of their society.

@Cherishisword Stop clowning around. All of your posts are dumb fictional deranged trash. And you were begging to post in the Lady Gaga thread when you joined which is very suspicious. You’re clearly a troll from some other reductive and bitter forum coming here to cause trouble. Take your games elsewhere. *FLUSH*

    Thanks!

Can’t wait for his inevitable heart attack. Ive felt awful about having these feelings and wishing such a thing, but I just don’t fucking care anymore.

Hopefully it will happen on live tv and he loses control of his bowels and bladder as a degrading bonus.

Don't feel awful. This mythomaniac sociopath deserves the worst things that can happen to a humain being. His complete lack of empathy for anyone who is not himself will cause the death of thousands of people.

Trump is going to kill millions.

This crazy POS was a danger when everything was going well. In a major crisis, he became a weapon of mass destruction. This man is incapable of empathy. So he doesn't care that thousands of people die. All he wants is not to taint all his lies about the economy.

  15. David P. Ropeik is an international consultant, author, teacher, and speaker on risk perception and risk communication. This interesting interview he gave yesterday puts people's reaction so well into perspective.

Oh thats a bit of a relief. So 80% of people who died from it either were old or had health conditions.

im dying for the treatment and vaccine to come out. Please hurry up. I’m paranoid about getting it, i can’t even go out confortably anymore.

Remember: follow the prescribed hygiene guidelines, respect government requests, avoid reading social media all day long which only increases your anxiety watching others' anxiety and reading information not always of quality. Yes, it is a pandemic. Yes, it is more virulent than simple influenza. Yes, we are all looking forward to a vaccine but remember, if you are healthy, young and follow the rules, you will have only mild to moderate symptoms. Panic and anxiety are never good advice.  The current solution is to react collectively in the most calm, respectful and united way possible. In a few weeks, things will be much better.Hugs.

But people in Italy are dying left and right, something’s not right. It seems to be easier to catch the infection in Northern Italy than anywhere else.

Italy has one of the oldest populations in the world. The average age of people who succumb to the virus in Lombardy is 81 years and 80% of these people had a preexisting health problem which is common at this age.In addition, it is the ability of the health system to absorb the sudden increase in the number of patients that hurts in Italy today.
